@@JulioCesar-nd4mw Colin did a live stream the other day and mentioned that Casualty is going to be really heavy. The first single was for them. It was their announcement that they're back, it's a new era. A great introduction for Emily to the Linkin Park fans. This one is for us. The nostalgia is real in this one for sure, brings back those early Hybrid Theory/Meteora days. So far it's looking like it'll be a great album.

If the Album don't come with 10-11 chill songs, I'm IN!
I'm just happy that we are actually able to whiteness this. I listen to LP since the beginning and I'm just so excited for this new chapter. Seeing them head to head in those charts feels a little bit like... The world is healing.
@Wailmur oh he's not only done it. But, he's transitioned it into a squeal as well. Granted nobody is like Chester being he's one of a kind. But, she is just not that talented. So many better female options out there. Look at Courtney LaPlante a beast of a vocalist!
I'd say this is definitely a better song but I think they chose The Emptiness Machine as the first single because like you said, it's still good and it works way better in introducing Emily to the fold and highlights her versatility than this one does while saving this one because it's more along the lines of the Linkin Park so many people grew up on. I also agree with what you said in that if they'd released this first, I think a lot more people would've complained because her vocal style on it is reminiscent of Chester (go on haters, I'm waiting for you to say "She's just trying to be him and they're trying to replace him" for the umpteenth time because you got no other legs to stand on) and they knew that releasing The Emptiness Machine first would go down better because it ushers in a new era and in my opinion, following up with a song that sounds so nostalgic to a lot of people pays respects to Chester's time with them because again, they're not stupid and they know as well as anyone that he's irreplaceable and his legacy can't be touched by anybody, not even the countless Chester soundalikes out in the scene currently.
I play toplane and mid isn't the one running down, it's botlane or jungle. Anyways, i think that having this emily part now is the evolution to a new linkin park, that fits the modern scene. I wish chester was the one doing it, but i think that we all wish that. Thank you nick
IMO I think if this was the first single I think people would be way more hyped but if it was even then a collab with LOL it would be a weird first thing to put out 7 years as a collaboration with an online game. Either way, at first I thought it was a very average track when I heard it live. Then once the video came out I now like it way more than the emptiness machine. Like its already been said, its that LP formula, straight to the point, perfectly cut track for radio with a catchy chorus. No filler, no solos.
I’m sorry but why is critical thinking and questioning always listed as “hater”. Am I a “hater”? Got every album, saw Mike live as Fort Minor in 2005, got the rising tied and post traumatic. The problem is with you lot. You chased me off TH-cam, discord, Reddit, etc like rabid “fans” and I’ve been around since the start. Emily’s singing isn’t the problem. It’s the Scientology and the context. But hey. Let’s just consume…. Don’t question anything right? Even worse when the words and songs have helped for 20 years.
As much as Heavy is the Crown gave me Meteora vibes and that was the golden era of LP for me, I still much prefer The Emptiness Machine. I can't put my finger on why. It just hits me as a much more fleshed out and solid song. Heavy is the Crown almost sounds like just another throw away track to fill out the album list.
Don’t sleep on Pentakill… legitimately great metal, 3 entire albums created just from riot creatives, alot of their music heavily rotates through my workout playlist
If you only liked hybrid theory and meteora then the band died 20 years ago for you and you can still put those albums on repeat. Chester was the last joining member and the other 4 members who have stayed want to make music and were the original members with a previous vocalist before Chester
Im really happy with the direction this new song went, Im just hoping its not the only track on the new album like this. More of this or even the style of the heavier tracks from Minutes to Midnight, I just really hope they mostly stay away from the style of tracks like What Ive Done or anything in Thousand Suns and Hunting Party albums. I did a dive through their discography recently and Im still baffled by some of the directions they tried to take with the later albums, but overall with this new single Im at least optimistic about the new album in a way I wasnt after the first new single. Thousand Suns and Hunting Party just dont sound like Linkin Park really at all to me, and they just aren't even good albums imo, theres maybe 2 tracks from those two albums that Id say are somewhat good and thats kinda it. Minutes to Midnight at least had half of its track feel like something made by Linkin Park even if it wasnt the same style as Hybrid Theory or Meteora, but then theres tracks like What Ive Done which I just dont like the tempo/pacing of and dont feel, imo, like a natural continuation of Linkin Park's sound in the same way as other tracks on the same album like Given Up or Leave Out All The Rest. Living Things is an okay album with a few good tracks imo but it just doesn't quite feel like Linkin Park to me, imo it diverged too far from the Metal influences that are core to Linkin Park as a band. One More Light was actually quite good imo and felt more like a Chester solo album, so even though it wasnt musically heavy at all or anywhere near the style of the first few albums it was still a good album for what it was imo.
I feel like you gotta do a review on the band "As everything unfolds" song called "on the inside "this band is very underrated like a missing pice on the hole in the wall
> Take down the crown and the king and all that I mean this really doesn't hold well in the least. The crown is an image or representation of the monarch who governs as the father of a nation and subject to the law of God; the heaviness of the crown is allegorical obviously and the more immediate interpretation in itself is therefore the great burden that is governing as a king in itself. In the context of something like League of Legends being a MOBA, the crown in question is probably just being at the top of the leaderboard, and the effort required to stay on top, and to dethrone who is on top. My favorite of what LoL songs have to offer is Phoenix (Carpenter Brut Remix), though I find it disappointing they seem to have a lack of male vocalists as you can't quite get the sound of something like Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold | Low Bass Singer Cover (Geoff Castellucci) out of a woman's voice for obvious reasons, but a female voice works quite well in situations like these and the Sonic Frontiers OST curiously (like Find Your Flame and other songs feat. Kellin Quinn).
I feel like the lyrics fit league pretty good but fit linkin park even better. might be reading too much into things but the first rap part already has a lot. And it's vague enough to be applicable to a lot of things. With Chester in mind it sounds a lot like the experiences with an addict. Then if you think about it "You can't win if your white flag's out when the war begins" is the enouragement to fight against it. Also the answer to "Given up" wich is referenced with the long scream. The other Chester-centered part I feel is in there is the "heavy" part of the title. From what I know the song Heavy was not liked by critics and fans at first. Chester apparently didn't take that very well. Reception turned, too after he died. I don't know if it is intended but for me this is a callback to the way that was handled by industry and fans alike. And Linkin park being back? yes, that is what people asked for. But getting do that standard and going up against all those expectations is very hard. Because linkin park is in fact wearing a metaphoical very heavy crown. I could go on, but all this makes it feel like the fit for League was a happy little accident while the song is actually about Linkin Parks history, present and future. ...or it's just a fun song. I dunno man. I just felt some of that when I first listened to it and had to put these thoughts somewhere.
for me emptines machine is better song but HITS is just pure good old linkin park also riot exacly know what they are doing old players from season 1 to 3 have to be 90' early 00 kids so they grow up with this kind of music
Yeah, I was hugely into Linkin Park when Hybrid Theory dropped, and Reanimated is one of my all-time favorites. At the time, I was going from a Nu Metal fan to thrash and death metal fan leaving the radio for CD's and mp3's. So, when Meteora hit, I was pretty disappointed. It was boring, too sanitized and radio friendly rock-rap, none of the grittiness and emotion was really there in the same way anymore. IDK, maybe I was too harsh on them at the time. I really like Heavy is the Crown, it has the Hybrid Theory grit. I like Emily's vocal stylings, but I'm big into metalcore these days, so there may color my opinions.
the old songs dont fit emily and they should leave it at that. emptiness machine was nice to listen to but heavy is the crown is a BANGER to say the least. fits her well, rly nice tune to it. it just slaps.
Personally i kinda prefer Emptiness machine but I think that's neat about this comeback, everyone can find something for themselves and none of the tracks so far ar bad by any means.
The lyrics definitely work without the LoL connection. Emily has inherited a heavy crown -- Chester's role in the band. It's addressed to the people who don't, and won't, accept her.
I think emily singing this song is so fitting especially with the divide of some of the fan base. I think its a banger and i can't wait for whatever else they come out with. I just wish this band nothing but the best like, its giving me flashbacks of when architects lost their guitarist and the fan base were so divided and critical, and i don't like it.
Collin said in his IG live that there more heavy shit in this album. I think it was ,,casualty,, what he said that is the heaviest song but I'm not sure.
Song is okay. New singer is very good and fits the band. Miss the more somber and mellow sound with heavier distorted guitars from the first two albums. But they're doing their own thing which is cool. Get why bands don't want to be like Iron Maiden or Metallica and release the same album 45 times in a row.

ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS WHERE IS THE COVER NIK!?
Huh, did it leak 3 weeks ago or smthn? 'Cause the world premiere of the song was 8 days ago
Didn't he do a cover last week?
@@Sixpointtwoliter I thought he did emptiness machine with Bonitz. I had no idea he covered this one. I'll look into it damn he really fast
@@ar333b oh right. It was Emptiness Machine lol
Please take another look at Cane Hills new stuff. They are popping off with the new album singles!!
I think the emptiness machine was a much better introduction for Emily, mostly because of the bait and switch for the live debut, with Mike singing at the beginning, then Emily just showing up. Amazing reveal!
If the Album don't come with 10-11 chill songs, I'm IN!
I'm just happy that we are actually able to whiteness this. I listen to LP since the beginning and I'm just so excited for this new chapter.
Seeing them head to head in those charts feels a little bit like... The world is healing.
Heavy is the crown is a blast, that 15 sec scream is crazy 😻
Too bad she's incapable of doing that live 😅
@@sillysiji5257she already did, wake up
@marc___zkz who you lying to? Their live vids are out there and she sounds like karaoke
@@sillysiji5257To be fair, chester to my knowledge never pulled off "given up" live, like, the entire scream
@Wailmur oh he's not only done it. But, he's transitioned it into a squeal as well. Granted nobody is like Chester being he's one of a kind. But, she is just not that talented. So many better female options out there. Look at Courtney LaPlante a beast of a vocalist!
Imagine if these guys just randomly decide to put out collabs with Bad Omens and Sleep Token too
I'd die happily ever after
I'd say this is definitely a better song but I think they chose The Emptiness Machine as the first single because like you said, it's still good and it works way better in introducing Emily to the fold and highlights her versatility than this one does while saving this one because it's more along the lines of the Linkin Park so many people grew up on.
Love Pentakill. Has my favorite vocalist of all time, Jorn. And Conqueror was epic.
I don`t know anything about League of Legends, but this song gives me Meteora vibes and that´s great. Linkin Park is fucking back.
Haters begone! This song is 🔥
I’m sorry but why is critical thinking and questioning always listed as “hater”.
Clicks on Nik video talking about new Linkin Park song, just to immediately get an ad of said new song and video.
We are so BACKKK BABEHHHHH🗣🔥🗣🔥
Song slaps. Absolute peak Linkin Park vibes. What more could you ask for
The emptiness machine is 100% Linkin Park both musically and lyrically and it slaps. Heavy is the Crown is more like old LP and it's a banger also
Im really happy with the direction this new song went, Im just hoping its not the only track on the new album like this.
The songs are sure songs that exist amongst songs. Linkin fans are just stoked to say something new is out🙏🏽
I wasn’t sure how I would feel but I am totally on board! Both songs get stuck in my head the entire day!
omfg the "speech level up" made me cackle
> Take down the crown and the king and all that
I mean this really doesn't hold well in the least.
Pretty hype for worlds finals ngl, gonna be epic when lp hits the stage
The song is a Faint x Given Up x Burn It Down vibes
I feel it’s the better of the two singles
Wasn’t sure about the track at first but it’s stuck in my head! Certified banger!
Hot take... Emptiness Machine sounds like it's made for Scott Pilgrim edit song
the old songs dont fit emily and they should leave it at that.
emptiness machine was nice to listen to but heavy is the crown is a BANGER to say the least.
fits her well, rly nice tune to it. it just slaps.
Mr. Nik, I'm disappointed you haven't made a video about Necrophagist yet.
This is what we asked for. We need to meteora vibes back!
To be honest, it is a very good song, even if I miss big riffs

And you ❤❤❤❤
This is literally Emily saying “Hey you wanted Linkin Park back, and a new singer? Well here I am. Deal with it”
Her scream sounds like M. Shadows scream from rock am Ring God hates us all 2011!! 👀
Frankly, this song was an absolute banger. I really thought emptiness machine was extremely generic. This was contender for song of the year
You should do a how to chelsea grin in 30 seconds short
I love this new song ❤❤ emily Armstrong is awesome
Song is okay. New singer is very good and fits the band.
Miss the more somber and mellow sound with heavier distorted guitars from the first two albums.
But they're doing their own thing which is cool. Get why bands don't want to be like Iron Maiden or Metallica and release the same album 45 times in a row.
i kind miss LP's early heavy riffs ..
Love both songs and think she’s amazing. Let’s move on and listen to tunes.
