- Shawn Merriman and Steven Jackson. Directed by Michael Mann. Song played is "Promontory" by Trevor Jones from the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack.
When I was younger, this was the type of commercials you would expect to see on Super Bowl Sunday! What happened to those days?! Those were the commercials to look forward to all year! To be fair, this commercial was directed by Michael Mann...HEAT Michael Mann!
2023 and this is still an absolute BANGER!!!!
I can watch this on repeat
Best commercial ever
This, the cordell stewart/(slash), and the nfl 100 commercial are the best bar none.
You KNOW you aint lyin.
and the obj be legendary commercial
Damn right
I think the Gatorade one is the best where the end says "it's 90ft to first no matter where home is"
I don't think anyone else could've made this other than Michael Mann. It's the music that seals the deal.
Am not American & never understood the Grid-Iron meet grinder but this Advert is very very special.
This commercial never gets old. 🤙🏽
absolutely
Shawne Merriman and Steven Jackson. Both were incredible when this commercial aired. I remember seeing it for the first time as a kid and wanting to play ball.
I remember seeing it when I was 30 wishing I had the balls to play. 😂
This commercial brings a tear to my eye. So well made
I still remember the night I actually saw this on TV
They need a 4k version
If you guys are looking for the name of the song it is "Promentory". Its from the movie Last of the Mohicans
I saw this commercial like 10 years ago and I still think about it around once a year.
2020: This feels fitting for some reason.
2024 & I still get CHILLS ❤
Definitely sent chills down my spine 2 times in a row
Stephen Jackson reaching at the end always gets me.
Good Job Larry 🍊
@@elpipes1361 yeehee
When Stephen picks the ball up gets me so hyped
Love the goldeneye grunts they inserted.
Didn’t know that
I want to see this commercial updated with Bobby Wagner and Barkley shot in 4K.
Aaron Donald and Derrick Henry 2020
@@Kruppt808 tj watt and jonathon Taylor in 2022
Barkley lol
Just took a picture with Shawne Merriman. Didnt know this commercial existed
Best football commercial ever.
Still easily the most motivational football commercial I've ever seen
(And pretty cool that both these teams are in LA now lol)
Under Armour It's August longform is also very good
Good point!
Pretty gay both teams are in LA now you mean?
football?
All these years later I still get pumped by this
They should update it every year with new players. People would go crazy for it.
Football ain’t the same man it’s sad, the grit and anger back in the early 2000’s is non existent in today’s game.
Every Super Bowl night I watch this.
this one and the one with LT and Troy Polamalu are the best nike football commercials
This commercial had me thinking I could run through an 18 wheeler
For real man💀💀I saw it as a kid and wanted to go hit stick my dad in the yard. Go Hogs!!!
i used to watch this to get hyped for baseball games. man it still gets me pumped for workouts.
Last of the Mohicans final scene then it really puts the song and commercial in perspective
Last of the Mohicans score is such a fucking classic, now I gotta go home and watch it lmao
Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it!
Holyshit what a fantastic commercial
The music the Gael by Dougie McLean just adds to it.
Still remember this. This was a bad ass commercial.
Watched this as a kid. Nike did a great job with this.
Man, Shawne Merriman was a player. If not for that one injury and his mishandling of it, maybe how could have been a Charger for much longer than he did. That was the best Chargers teams ever put together, today included.
This is the most badass commercial in the history of commercials
Still the best football commercial
Still getting teary eyed at the end of it in 2022
Always "Semper Fi"
It really never gets old love it
Forward. Ever Forward.
I still get shivers.
If this doesn't motivate your cells to work then I don't know what else will
Edit: this still gives me chills in 2024
Feeling down. Then watch this over and over!!!!! Gets you going!
Chills to this day still
Top 10 best commercial of all time!!
How can you not love football? You're a literall warrior when playing on that field among you brothers in arms
You're a figurative warrior, not a literal warrior
@@KJ-tk5gl Tell that to Damar Hamlin
@@phildenut4430 I pick Pat Tillman for my argument 🇺🇸
Literal warriors aren't real people anywhere but on a page. Looks like your on the same one though 😉
This commercial is positively inspired. Michael Mann's brilliance managed to condense the spirit of 100 years of football into a 1 minute commercial. And the Last of the Mohicans sound track confers a nobility that manages to capture humanities enduring struggle for the victory shared. Lightning in a bottle. 2-11-24
Native Americans are also foundational components of the game such as the forward pass being developed under pop warner and utilized at Carlisle Indian school. A major college football power in its day that defeated the 1 ranked Army led by Eisenhower. That Carlisle team was headed by none other than the goat himself Jim Thorpe
Legit got chills in the back of my head and neck
Back when football was awesome. Look what we've lost.
Football still is fun to watch. Just if you don’t agree with the politics of the players then just ignore it and focus on the game instead of getting triggered like a snowflake
BEAUTIFUL
I remember when this came on and my college roommate was like “this song is from the ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ ” well he was right! Promentory is the song!
0:33 After all these years I never noticed Jackson almost loses the ball after being hit by 2 Falcons.
Always loved this beat
Last of the Mohicans
BEST COMMERCIAL EVER!!
Man…these were the days. 90s and 00s were peak football for me for physicality of it
These days it’s the speed that kills, which is still amazin
Somehow it’s always more epic than you remember 😢
Leave nothing. Except the Reebok logos on their jerseys
I miss Shawne Merriman so bad. Dude was a hitter. For obvious reasons lmao. Best Chargers linebacker since Junior Seau
Probably the best foot ball commercial ever
After watching Last of the Mohicans on TV awhile ago for some reason remind me of this commercial and I totally forgot about the feeling it give till now . 🧐😳😲😯😢😢catastrophically amazing commercial
It’s the same music that’s why
When it hits you that at the time of this commercial it was the San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams and now they're both in Los Angeles. And share a stadium.
(You could *technically* both "back" in Los Angeles, but the Chargers were truly a San Diego team)
Bunnygirl71's comment on JL Phillips's reaction video for Last Of The Mohicans brought me here.
I want a longer commercial!!!!
This commercial makes me miss those St Louis Rams jerseys.
I love the soundtrack
I love this
Everyday I’m out here trying to live just like this
old but still gold
Best football commercial still in 2022
lol mann i love this commercials bk in the day
I remember this commercial...
This commercial is so dope
#39 Steven Jackson a beast ✌!!
This brought back so many memories. I haven't seen this commercial in years. Are they even allowed to make badass commercials / advertisements like this anymore? doesn't seem like it...
Why would a commercial like this not be allowed?
Nice to see they played the pats in July when it was 90 and sunny
Last of the Mohicans brought me here
makes me want to go back
Wow super nostalgic
Best.Commercial.Ever
The GOAT
Maaaan this commercial always gave me chills because of the last of the mohicans theme....they definitely don't make commericals like this anymore
11/10!
Goosebumps....but I've always wondered why Shawne Merriman kept running even after he made those tackles. I guess he's leaving nothing? I loved the transition to Stephen Jackson even though he's putting hands on my Steelers.
The way homie went full attack helicopter at 0:14 literally killed me
😂
The music makes this commercial
“The kiss” in the movie last of Mohicans
@shaking like tremolo It would be awesome if Netflix produced a good series during this period of human history
The Gale
@@emiliod90 There’s a series on Netflix called Frontier that takes place between 1763 and 1779. It’s about the North American fur-trade. Jason Mamoa (Khal Drogo, Aquaman) is the lead. There’s 3 seasons. I watched season 1 and liked it. I never went back and watched the other two seasons though. I can’t remember why.
I love you thank you
"Nike. You may not know this, but our full name is Nichael..."
- Peter Griffin
Bro was catching bodiesssss
0:14 DANNNNG
This Nike commercial has been brought to you by Reebok
Back in the day when Nike was a respected name.
One of the best commercials
Das war noch Werbung die Männer erzeugt hat 💪🏻
Those bagpipes tho 💪
Can't play football like that anymore 💯
The creativity and passion is unreal
Please do this again NFL
If anyone is wondering for that beastly music. 🔽This Movie is Awesome
Last of the Mohicans
I want a new one with Bobby Wagner and Saquan Barkley 🤪
Bad ass!
When was the last time we saw a Nike commercial. They spared no expense when it came to their marketing of players. Then, it all just stopped.
The song makes it
