  • Hi Everyone,
I've made a follow-up video to my demo video for Diagonal Cross Country Stiching without Crossover Traveling (such a long title!) where I answered questions people had.
    Hope it helps!
    Cheers,
    Vani

You can’t have a neat back when doing cross country so thank you for showing. Your work is so beautiful

I could never understand the neat back people. Glad to find a stitcher who admits to a messy back! To each their own.

I think there's nothing wrong with a messy back either! I don't have time to worry about my back, I'd rather be stitching!!😂

Thank you for showing the back, it looks fine to me , as a beginner it gives me permission to do the same,.Love the diagonal stitching without all the parked ends they seem very confusing.
Also thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I know you said it felt weird to be talking to yourself while stitching, and that you were a bit hesitant to do a stitch with me because you didn't have enough to talk about, but this seemed so natural, and I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Again this video was so beneficial. I have been doing your method on a new HAED and didn't even realise I didn't know what to do at a page finish, which is exactly where I am now. You self doubt is almost cute as your videos are perfect. The best idea for a stitch along is for me to fly over to you and stitch all day/week/month :) The best stitch along videos just require a good angle of the stitching (like yours) and a hello, goodbye and whatever you are comfortable with. Regarding your back... It is beautiful, as you do not do sampler stitching, you can't compare to others. I believe an ugly back on an enjoyed and finished project is much better than a neat back on an abandoned project. These projects take years, so it is a personal commitment that should never be apologised for or compared.

Zan, thank you for the thoughtful words, they mean so much! I would love for you to fly over and stitch with me!!! I am glad the angle I have chosen is a good one. I'll slowly get comfortable with these stitch with me videos! I agree, if we are happy with our backs and the fronts, we shouldn't compare! Thank you again, and thanks for watching! 🥰💕

Thank goodness! Someone who doesn't care what the back looks like! Love you channel. I've finished two Haed s ECC. On a quick stitch and a mini. I usually don't have the fortitude to keep going on one color. Love full coverage. I don't park unless I run out of room and save it until I move my hoop.

Extreme cross country stitcher here! It is definitely not for everyone as you have to be able to enjoy the process. I like seeing the picture develop as each new color is added. Each finished color gives a new view of the total image. I also love the fact that I only need to have the single color with each project, and I have enough variety with all my different projects that I don't get color burn out. It does require having the entire piece gridded, but I don't mind that as much either, and I have now been trying out the pregridded fabrics, which are actually a different experience since on pregridded the line is on the thread instead of the space and you have to choose weather to stitch over the line on the top or on the row under it, and then keep that in mind as you count within the square. Very informative video! And I will agree on your complete disinterest in how the back looks. I believe it was Jantina Stitches who said the back of a project is like the back of a peacock.

An extreme Cross country stitcher! My hero, I am in awe, I don't think I have the patience for it, but more power to you! I love to watch other's progress on their ECC though! I might try it sometime, you have made me think about it!!! Maybe sooner rather than later! I agree, gridding is a life saver, although I have never tried pre-gridded. That is a lovely way to describe the back of a project. And I love peacocks!!! Thanks so much for watching! Until next time. Happy Stitching!!!

Enjoyed this video even though I still stitch in 10 X 10 blocks across and I do have column lines. I thought going across would make a difference but it hasn’t. Hopefully a wash and an iron and a framing will make a difference. If not, 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thank you for showing the back of your work it’s very pretty like abstract art!
Just as there are people that try to make their back’s perfect I think most of us don’t really care what the back looks like.
Everybody is different and we have to do what works for us. Love all your videos! 😃

This might be a silly question but why do you get page lines? All the stitches are cross stitches so what makes them different from one page to the next needing the feather stitches? Love your videos and these teaching videos are great excellent explanations. As far as the stitch with me my feelings is you don’t have to talk constantly just what comes up like a conversation or a story about what your life is about which is lots of fun.

    • @threadtheneedle
      @threadtheneedle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi! No question is silly! Some people get page lines because when you finish your stitches at the page ends your tension is different so that leads to a slight difference. Mostly at the end of one page and the beginning of the next stitches are going in different directions in the back, which leads to a (page) line to appear.
