It's never a war crime the first time. If it ain't war time, it ain't a war crime.

Radiomen are called “Sparks”, not engineers.

Electricians are called sparks as are electrical engineers

@@steveosborne2297 Well, maybe. But we generally called them electron pushers or 'tronicists, depending. The double E's I worked with in semiconductor research were all Ph.D.s, but the electronics wizard was merely a tech. (One of the Electrical Engineer Ph.D.s after a morning of frustration having dealt with some electricians trying to install a HEPA Filter, stated that when he got old and demented he , too, could become an electrician.) By the way, for future reference, steel ball bearings weld to themselves under vacuum. Consequently, we had to replace the steel balls with sapphire balls in the vacuum transport system we designed and built for samples to travel between the Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition system and the analysis stations.

@@eriolduterion8855 From your post I assume you are relatively young and therefore might not realise where the original nickname of sparks for a radio operator came from .
This goes back to the early days of radio and morse code where it was literally a spark gap generator

@@navyhmc8302 You can not absorb voltage. Only Current times Volts, also known as VA (VoltAmperes) or, like a lifetime ago, Watts.
Without voltage or amps (current) no Watts and thus nothing to absorb.
      There's no there there.

You didn't write it, so not your fault, but it should have circled back to the conversation between the aliens, along with some closure about what happened after.
