Fantastic stuff as always. Imo it’s between KD and Jokic as far as “best player in the league” goes, with Curry still in that mix somewhat as well, although his slump recently didn’t do him any favors.

I'm a GSW Fan but I understand no doubt that Kevin Durant is the best player in the league hands down! I think Yannis is second, Yokic is third, Embiid 4th, and 5th is debatable. Go Warriors!

Great analysis, I didn’t know he was that much of an impact player on defense. A rim protector, positive perimeter defender, and good help defender is something I didn’t really notice about his game this year.

He is the best ever no debate 1. Reason is he is 6’7 and can rebound score every where great defensive player sometimes rings don’t matter nor records I mean every team he has been on it has a all star or close to it also having two rings is still good looking at which players in Hof (hall of fame) have a ring
He’s mainly over looked bcs of LeBron
His scoring gravity and passing is peaking sure and he's prob having the best offensive season of his career thus far. HOWEVER, I have large doubts about his playoff resilience, he doesn't attack the rim enough and it'll be interesting to see whether his current scoring level is sustainable when much of it is up to shooting variance under a more intense defensive playoff environment. The nets spacing is mid, Kyrie could help but his status is always in the air. He's really very very reliant on Harden to be the engine, he's historically been meh in the postseason without a primary initiator, even with Westbrook, who is an awful ceiling raiser. We saw it last off-season in games 3 and 4 vs Milwaukee, Harden kept him afloat throughout the series. On defense I heartily believe he's absolutely cooked vs the bucks and/or heat in a playoff environment, the nets are pretty heavily relying on him to defend the rim weakside but playing teams with heavy shot creation that pressure the rim with 3 point floor spacers will put him in an awkward spot and his motor might become more inconsistent.
Overall, imo this season so far he's been top 4, my top 1 and 2 are Jokic and Giannis with Curry 3rd. There's a sizeable gap between KD and the 5th ranked player but I doubt his best player case will get any stronger as the season progresses.

If he didnt blow out his achilles and the Nets didnt get killed by injuries, there a good chance he'd have 4-5 chips.

All those years in a deep West, being stuck with Westbrook as his point guard and still being able to beat the Spurs, Mavs and Lakers in playoff series...Almost beat the 73 win Warriors....and this is with Westbrook aka basketball purgatory.

As far as best player this season, I think it's either Jokic or Steph. That being said, as the generally best player overall I think it's either Kd or Giannis really. Each season they play, they're consistently one the best players in the planet and play both sides of the floor very well.
Where does KD rank as a playmaker
Very difficult to say, he's definitely not in that top tier but I wouldn't say he's multiple levels behind. Probably somewhere just outside the top 10 if I were to make a list.

It's tough to say, for what it's worth I feel like I can confidently say he's never been better offensively.
Probably still taking 2017 overall though.
