My family used to gather around the (19" portable) television every Sunday night to watch "Life Goes On" because we had a daughter/sister, one of my eight children, who was born with Down syndrome in 1985. Tracy was just four years old when the series premiered, but she never missed an episode due to her "crush" on Chris Burke ("Look! He's like me!"). Sadly, we lost Tracy to a stroke ("moya-moya") on her twenty-eighth birthday a few years ago; but we still love her -- and Chris Burke. Television was, once upon a time, good.
I miss this show, I was probably too young to understand much of what was going on, was five until late December 1989, but it was a perfect way to ask questions and get age-appropriate answers. A lot was going on in the 1980s. This was the first non-animated, also the first "grown up" program I could watch with no problem.
I'm surprised this installment of Where Are They Now? didn't include Monique Lanier, the actress who played Paige Thacher in the first season of Life Goes On, or give details of what other acting work she did, and where she's been.
"Ob-Li-Di, Ob-La-Da" is not on the main title sequence of the Season 1 D.V.D. set of "Live Goes On" because A.T.V. Music (which owns the Lennon/McCartney catalog) couldn't come to an agreement with Warner Bros. and was replaced by an undistinguished rock song.
November 1988 My older brother Roddy died. My brother had Down syndrome, he had crooked ankles, he couldn’t walk, he scooted on the floor to get around, in his home with other retarded people who couldn’t walk. He got around in A 🦼, I had worked with A Down syndrome person who could walk & talked, then life Goes on came on, I walched it every Sunday.
Hey What about Tyler Corkys buddy on the football team how come he wasn't mentioned. I was actually ticked off when he was written out of the show and killed off
@David Breen He was written out of the show because he wanted to pursue a music career and he actually did a music video or two. You can check it out on TH-cam; I think it's called "Heartbreak."
I remember American tv series life goes on when I was at middle school . But unfortunately Arabic subtitles Ihope to rewatch again Iam Arabic lady subscriber to several British and American TH-cam channels. At that time we there no internet or satellite channels .

I saw an interview with Chris Burke some time ago. He is a well-spoken, eloquent speaker.
Gives me goose bumps because I can recall those days I actually watched this daily and really getting into it. Thanks for uploading.
Always loved that show Life Goes On wish it would come back on tv like the shows like Andy Griffith and There's Company! They still play them!
