This was a remaster done right. I highly recommend it. I really hope it sells well because I would love to see what Aspyr can do with Tomb Raider 4, 5 & 6.
I hope they do Tomb Raider 6 as well. If so, I hope they bring back the cut content. Because Tomb Raider 6 gives the impression of an unfinished project and something is missing.
@@xanxenon1934 Agreed. Since Aspyr actually hired talented fans for the remasters I could easily see them doing the same for Tomb Raider 6 especially seeing the incredible fan talent behind the Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness Restoration Project. I actually appreciate that game , unfinished state and all, even more after playing the "modern" (2009 +) Tomb Raider.
I really hope so, Angel of darkness deserves a second chance to be the game it was meant to be. So much potential, it has a great story, great music. Just at least update the controls and give us access to the dual pistols.
@@reginamills2168 I could not have said it any better myself. Let's hope the remasters continue to sell well and revive more interest in classic Tomb Raider to inspire this to happen.
The Remaster looks done right. But i feel nostalgia from original, about all these small resolution textures and low res models. You will understand me only if you played this game in 1998. 🙂
So glad to see the remastered character models showing what Bartoli’s goons and the monks were actually supposed to look like. The attempt to give them muscle textures in the original made them all appear as withered old men. 😂
Frankly... I have no nostalgia goggles on, because I hardly played TR back in the day, I preferred other games at the time - but the original game looks more consistent. It still has its charm, you can tell it was a huge achievement in the 90s and enjoy it a lot still with this mindset "on" in your head. Imagination fills in the blanks after playing it for a while, unless you're a total graphics nut who can't enjoy anything that isn't top of the line. The remaster, on the other hand - while it features undoubtedly superior lighting, effects like water or nice details like animated faces - it clearly has all these modern effects slapped on top for sugarcoating purposes and I can't shake the feeling some of them downright clash with the blocky nature of level design and the mood Core was trying to establish in some of the levels. I also vastly prefer the original texture work, especially for rocks or Venice as a whole.
@@Johnatansuttonand a remaster isn’t suppose to be going into remake territory but that’s what they did Y’all don’t understand what a port vs remaster vs remake is 😤 A direct port is just ps1 version of the game on consoles A remaster simply brings everything up to hd. If they do beyond that it’s stepping into a blend of remaster and remake which is what this collection did
The difference is that a remaster is simply suppose to make everything hd and that’s all This went WAYYYY beyond making everything hd. They added all dlc, all cut content, added modern controls, remade every single character model in game, remade environments, remade loading screens and menu, this is very much a WAYYY beyond a remaster it’s a blend between remake and remaster
because it is not a remake? 😟 a remake wouldve meant a graphical and control overhaul, built the game from the ground up (using todays technology and engine) and implement modern controls.

The only problem about the Remastered is the lighting cuz' my God it so dark. Good thing they have the option for Classic mode.
Aspyr humiliated THQ by showing how a remaster should be done.
I wish metal gear solid received a good remaster like this. At least.
The very short scream at 6:22 lol
Lmao! 😂
I can't get enough of these comparison videos. The remastered looks so fire! 😍😍😍Keep em coming!

I wouldve preferred a shenmue like remaster... this is, respect everything from the og and just try to improve it's og textures
I remember the original on ps1 used to piss me off because I had no clue what I was looking at 😂

game cũ mà hay Tomb Raider 2 Remastered
remaster is darker too much
such a beautiful game LOL

why so dark?

Yeah it does seem a bit dark right? I get there’s new lighting but sometimes it looks dark even when she is outside mid day kinda odd
