- No one likes to mess up a painting. The more difficult or lengthy the project, the more likely we are to be nervous about making a mistake. I have dropped my paint brush onto my canvas more times than I can count. I have pushed paintings beyond rescue. I've made bad color, composition, and technique decisions. You name it, I've probably done it. Sometimes the fear of reliving those mistakes can bruise our confidence and cause our paintings to become safe and dull. In this video, I'll tell you my method of dealing with the fear of making a mistake while I show you how I painted this expressive flower in a low key way.
