Just found out this game existed! Looks like a great upgrade from the old playstation game 😀
So around the 1:20:00 mark you mentioned Mana Saleesia having only two knights to defend. A bit of backstory there, I picked them to start (they had a knight named Kyle, and being named Kyle I liked that). Turns out, they have 14 knights, and 5 castles to defend at the beginning so one castle has to only have 2 knights. I didn't realize this on the country picking screen so it was quite the surprise during my first organization phase.
Yea, I'd say Rudo and Kyle would be amazing as a duo if need be.
I made my Coco as a Hunter. Really turned out great when she actually leveled up as an Archer (lv.20). Free long ranged attack with healing ability. And since Saint doesn't offer any nice new spell (only Area Cure and Veil), I can make Coco a full fledged Sniper later without any need to return back as Saint.

If you played the original (LoF and GE), a merman promoted to lv10 (triton) or lv20 (poseidon) gains a special skill called maelstorm which is usable only when it's in water. It will hit enemy (and even ally) units on the ground.
For sure! Sirens get Maelstrom which is tier 2 Mermaid. They also get a Frost Spell.
Dimension is such a powerful spell. charm might be good for getting some cheeky early game units (I guess you could even save and continue charming until you get one of the rank 2s) but dimension basically does what warp does in other games. moving units and getting at the commanders is busted.
Slyvies line when you select her translates to "hmm treasure~ treasure~" not anything derogatory lol. Also I thought I was going crazy when I noticed my perfect ghoul was a different shade. Glad to know its an actual thing

charm is very nice. despite having lower then 100% chance on the monsters I hit, they got charmed easily. It nice to see their own op monsters attacking them. Though watch out when you got two charmed monsters as they can hit each other, waste of hits. Also found if you take out the leader of the nation, they all will leave at once. I thought the other guys would stay but would leave on their turns but nope all at once. I could have attacked a few monsters or try to claim one if I knew.
@@Gamemaster-64 Yes that stayed the same in the original 1998 game when the main Ruler gets killed. Cool tip on 2 creatures being Charmed situation.
Charm song should be a sure hit because accuracy is "-". Seems balance because they can only be used in water. So having a flight spell should do the trick to counter them.

25:16 All Sylvie was saying was "treasure, treasure!" ("otakara, otakara" in Japanese), so you're good :) I've seen some characters swearing, though (one of the Mirelva guys says "kusottare", meaning "s**thead" in Japanese)
32:06 Yeah, what charm song's description actually means is that the mermaid needs to be on water to use the spell (it can hit any kind of target, usually with 100% accuracy); that translation is really confusing. I've seen a Japanese LPer use what he called a "harem squad" (with only mermaids) for the demo challenges given by the developers, and it worked pretty well.
33:30 That changed: charmed units go last (you now have the chance to cure it with a unit from the same squad), so charm became a bit less effective.
44:48 Did you figure out if Resist also lowers the accuracy of debuff spells? I thought it was like Ward in GE, but I'm not sure.
45:05 It doesn't look like Spell Break would cure charm, because that's a status condition (its description says "does not affect veil or status conditions").
59:33 From what I've seen, it looks like the initial accuracy (on the left) is the one considering the agility difference and base hit rates, and the final accuracy (on the right) is the one considering everything else (terrain, passive skills, effectiveness of the chosen attack against ground or sky units, etc.). The wyvern lost 20% for trying to hit a ground unit, and another 5% from Brendan's evasion (since he was on his preferred terrain), which explains the 88% -> 63% change in accuracy.
1:01:40 The gigas got -20% accuracy/evasion for being on water, and another -20% accuracy for trying to hit a flying unit (which explains the 0% accuracy). Terrain is certainly playing a bigger role here than it did in GE.
I am almost certain that Resist does not help Status Prevention. There are specific spells that specifically say that status effect chances will be lowered by X%.

@@TheStellarArcade I used to use either angel or unicorn (for more variety) but now angels don't get heal until lv 10, which is fine. At least the nighmares don't lose it like they did in the first game- that never made sense. STIILL finding items I have not seen before, wow! How much did they pack into this behemoth?
Sadly, the developers said they weren't planning any DLC, but I think new monster packs or knight packs would go over well- The game seems to be doing far better then expectations, so we should be vocal about anything we would like to see.

@@TheStellarArcade Are you surprised at the popularity of the game? I was. Seen forums from Gamefaqs to reddit and 90 percent of the feedback is good. Hope it leads to a sequal (and we get our battle animations back LOL). In fact, that is one of the few things people criticize. They should also add diplomacy, and more kingdom management options if they do a sequel, to break up the monotony of battles more. I know fire emblem finally found its winning formula w/ class-training-exploring between battles. I think they could get creative with brigandine and really expand on new concepts for it in the future. Keep up the incredible work!
Can someone test this out: your nation will get Iyona if a CPU took the final castle and defeated Gustava. Will Iyona be able to recruit Noll afterward?
I am liking the game and to dip my toes in the water I played the shinobi on easy mode. I managed to destroy the republic on the south and on the way to try and take over that northern faction. I am struggling trying to manage troops since I don't know what are some good monsters to place with a knight. Any tips on this?
That description with water confused the hell out of me. I think that is a very unfortunate translation.

it look like any got to be in water spells are being mislabeled. You have to be in the water. I wonder how many castles have water. Despite being pirates for the yellow/orange nation, since you are moving away from the islands, you're not going to run into water as much.
Yea, regardless of the surprise, I'm glad I experienced it so I can be more Tactical with future battles.
@@TheStellarArcade same as it helped me in two battles. one to take over a lvl 20 bahamut though didn't cap it but didn't killed it so I still have another chance and in another fight I somehow screwed myself over. I know I pick 2 people to attack but when the battle came around only 1 person was chooseable. I know I picked both people. I was able to salvage it in the end with the death of some monsters(mostly the ones I summoned) but it was either continue or redo the last two fights.
@@Gamemaster-64 , I did the same recently with a High Centaur. Great tactic if you can make good use of the water.

Good episode, in your opinion the I.A. has been improvised, is the same or is worse than forsena?
The AI has definitely improved. I've only played in Hard Mode thus far so I cannot comment on the other modes.
Can the knights get injured/wounded during quests just like in the original? Do they come back immediately after a quest? In the first brigandine there were times that a knight comes back after 2-3 months/season.
They always come back the following round. They don't get injured anymore, but they can still fail quests.
Sooo many typos in this game its ridiculous. In almost all dialogue there is one and I too have got screwed from that mermaid thing. As soon as I saw you staying close to the water I knew you were in for a treat lmao wish it didn't realease that way, shows its not too polished but I hope they could fix it soon
By the way, in terms of monster line ups, I always bring one imp for each team. One for the protect but also because they are my sacrificial pawns. If you want to prevent the enemy from dealing major damage to an important unit just bring the imp forward and exposed. The help cushion you lol

I figured out what it was ACTUALLY doing much later in the LP. You have a compass in the top right of the battle UI. The squads are ALWAYS oriented North.....which is SILLY! lol. And no, it's not fixed.
@@TheStellarArcade Ok so should the tanks go on the right or the left then? Now I'm just all confused. I've put them on the left thus far like in the previous title. Also what is up with that mermaid text? Just the mermaid has to be in the water to use that skill? what about up-tiered Water Snakes then as they also have an ability with similar wording.
Fenral seems more like a good thief than a healer. 95 AGI on a bishop looks.... odd. And at level 10? Me thinks the dude might get better AGI gain if he was a thief instead. A thief class with heals is deffo a great addition.

This is correct. You will need to quest for Revival Stones. If you have them, you can spend one and some mana to revive any one monster that has died in battle from your army.
