I tested my English by listening to Shania Twain's songs. If I'm honest with myself, I can't hear every word of her songs clearly, while I can understand these celebrities very well.
If a person speaks alone and doesn't use very complicated English words, there would be no problem for anyone who claims to speak English.
The level of the language is actually determined by the age at which the person starts to learn the language. My English from the age of 16 to add 2 months of studying on my own at that age.
When a person is a mature adult, then the maintenance of languages is more important. Although I had forgotten that short time of studying English in my youth, life forced me to recover it, which is much harder than maintaining it.
