Hi! I'm Indonesian and my family used to buy our baju raya at Tanah Abang so I'm a bit familiar with the area. I would like to give some tips and trick to you guys. 1. Tanah Abang is huuugeee so if you eazily overwhelmed I would not recommend you go there 😂. If you're not and like adventure, please identify the area before you go there. - Blok A : modern-ish but kinda old compared to Blok B, had air conditioning -Blok B : usually you start from here, the most modern building, has a lot of level, right next to blok A (like a twin tower situation). -Blok F : the one that you got lost in, has no air conditioning and old building. Too many smoker inside the building 👎🏻 -Blok C: at the very back, no air conditioning if I'm not mistaken -Metro / PGMTA: across the street from blok B, the "new hype" note: during covid many shops close their shop sooo the information in blok A/B about what product in what floor might not be true. So sadly yes, you really need to explore every corner to find what you're looking for. I hope the administrator resolve this quickly. 2. Tanah Abang is like your average market so come early! Make your way from the hotel just after the morning rush hour and stop shopping after 3pm-ish. If you didn't want to get rushed, just come to Thamrin City. They get even crowded at 5pm. 3. Wear comfortable and less flashy outfit. There's pick pocket, so be carefull!. Use sling bag to keep your precious belonging (smartphone and wallet) and watch them all the time. If you going to splurge I advise you to bring a backpack or suitcase. But suitcase might hinder the walkway so mind for other visitor. 4. Some insight about the area from what I know Blok A/B: prayer set, children clothing, cheap batik, everyday wear, jeans, uniform Blok F: cheaper muslim wear & everyday clothes, there's also men suit etc Blok C: mostly fabric; in the past Pasar Mayestik is famous for it but in recent years it's cheaper in blok C Metro / PGMTA : in bulk order, but sometimes the shop keeper allow you to buy only one with a little higher price. Thamrin City: not as chaotic as Tanah Abang. You get a better quality batik at ground level, hijab in basement, many new brand also open their store here. So Thamrin City is more like a mall than Tanah Abang, relaxed and comfortable ((better quality too, imo)) but the price sometimes a bit higher than Tanah Abang. There's also pasar Tasik at 5th level, this one is like the cheaper option in Thamrin City. And the most important one, better air conditioning 😂 5. About transportation: it's ok if you use Gojek or Grab from your hotel to Tanah Abang. But from Tanah Abang I would just use Blue Bird taxi (remember only Blue Bird). Since the place is chaotic and it's too hard to identify where the car is. But if you didn't get Bluebird taxi, walk to metro and walk straight toward underpass (if you look at the maps, toward Thamrin City). If you reach a slightly less chaotic area, order gojek / grab from there. And hopefully they can locate you better by telling them "setelah putar balik, saya pakai ((insert what you wear, ex: baju biru)) ". For Thamrin City, since they more like a mall it's easy to order gojek / grab. 6. FOOD! This is one of the destination for my family. We must eat at Si May! Located just below blok F musholla, just ask the seller where to go. Or you can go at their different location outside Tanah Abang. Recommend: Dendeng & Ayam Panggang 7. Best to go there during weekdays rather than weekend, less crowded. You also get to explore more and less social battery drain too. And for new release baju raya, usually like a month before ramadhan they sell the new design. If you go there during ramadhan there's a chance they're selling like last year design. Except for like new "indie" brand, they start releasing new design during ramadhan. 8. Haggle the price! Many seller in Tanah Abang is a reseller so you can haggle the price unless there's a "fixed price" sign on the shop. But there's also the actual brand store there and you can't negotiate the price. In Thamrin city, mostly can't. 9. For other shopping center like mangga dua, cempaka mas, etc: idk much about them, they surely had their golden time in the past.
@@rambutketiak thank youuuu i shall screenshot this for future reference. Also can you please suggest food around jakarta or perhaps other areas as I’m open to suggestions. I like nasi padang and anything spicy. Sunda food was tad sweet to my liking. I have also had bakmie and it’s salty for me but gladly tried it. I think local recommendations are the best since most of the video and insta shorts i saw were only instagramable and overhyped
@@nn-ym8qnmy information might be outdated since I'm no longer resident of Jakarta 😂 but yeah at least you got the rough idea. For food I recommend Si May (Padang restaurant) as I mentioned above. They have several location near and inside Tanah Abang shopping center. Other than that you can go to Sarinah and explore Sabang street near it for street food. Other famous street food is near Grand Indonesia / Plaza Indonesia. Since Jakarta is like Indonesia melting pot you can try other Indonesia region cuisine. Jakarta is vast so if the restaurant is too far you can just order it using Go-Food. The food I recommend: -Manadonese Cuisine: typically spicy and use many fish in their diet. -Makassar Cuisine: leaning to savory, I really like Sop Konro -idk if there's Aceh restaurant in Malaysia or not but you should try Mie Aceh -other noodle dishes: Mie Celor, Mie Cakalang and Mie Godog Jawa -East Java + Madura cuisine! They also spicy, you should try Nasi Bebek Mak Isa (nasi bebek Madura), belut goreng bawang putih, and also tahu Tek. -Nasi Uduk Betawi! It's a must since Betawi is ethnically the OG resident of Jakarta. It's a bit different from Nasi Lemak and most of them are street food so it's quiet hard to spot. But if you find one, try it with semur jengkol or egg semur. - if you like sour, you should try rujak Juhi / rujak Betawi. Or you could go near Kebun raya Bogor to try "Asinan asli Bogor" it's a legendary restaurant. -Pempek! For this dish I'm not sure there is an authenthic one in Jakarta. Most of them are really far from the original one 😅. -other infamous food you might missed: nasi uduk with variety of fried protein with sambal (Nasi Uduk kebon kacang / Nasi uduk mat lengket) and Chinese food. There's halal and not halal Chinese food in Indonesia, easily you can go to Solaria or other big franchise restaurant. If you find Sundanese food sweet, you might not want to try Yogyakarta cuisine 😅. The charm of Sundanese cuisine is in their sambal & variety of raw fragrant greens. So for me I don't find it sweet, maybe next time you can try it with local custom 😂. Sundanese menu I like and recommend: nasi liwet, empal, and nasi tutug oncom.
@@nn-ym8qn for nasi padang, the go to fancy nasi padang place is pagi sore or sederhana. But if you want to seek what local eat while still in the center, you can visit bopet mini in bendungan hilir. They carry some rare padangnese cuisine that hard to buy. You may try sate padang as well, but I can’t really say the recommendations in the center jakarta since my go to place is near my home. If you like spicy food, try manadonese food or sulawesi food. They have spicy food and taste really refreshing. My recommendation is Beautika, this is one of the local staple for sulawesi food. Or if you want try something new, you can try konro marannu/kareboshi in kelapa gading. There are so many recommendations, I can’t tell all of it 😂
aku suka banget sama baju-baju malaysia. terus make up kakaknya cakep bangeett. terus juga kerudung yg dipake cewe-cewe sana tuh juga bagus-bagus. kainnya bisa jatuh gitu dan mudah dibentuk.

I just saw other comments, just ignore & report them and let me tell you a funny story. Our relative had a store in tanah abang. She sells her own brand there and our family like to buy her product. We live in Sumatera, one day my sister saw that cloth at a mall in our city. But the price tag there is like 3-4 times the original price. Turns out, a Malaysian buy from our relatives and sell them in Malaysia. And the shop owner buys it to sell it in Sumatera. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not long after, the shop owner come to our restaurant and idk how the convo going but then my mom show her clothes from that brand. And the shop owner shocked to know that the clothes is from Indonesia. 😂😂😂

tanah abang and thamcit are so close from where i stay but i prefer to go to thamcit because it's a lot comfier, not too much blok like tanah abang and still have various choices.
Hi Qina! This is my first time seeing vid of Malaysians shopping for modest clothing in Tanah Abang. Love seeing your reactions. Just wondering, is there not a place similar like Tn Abang and Tamcit anywhere in Malaysia? I've never been to Malaysia. Hope you'll enjoy your experience and your haul.
Thamrin bagus buat baju lebaran.

Krn dlunya satu kesatuan nusantara. Tapi ibarat kakak adik dlm satu keluarga. Bertengkar itu biasa aja. Thamrin city memang lebih nyaman dibanding tanah abang, especially for tourist like you. Tip from me, I prefer to take bluebird than gocar/grab. If you lg sial, naik gocar/grab, you dapat driver tidak sopan, mobil bau, and they turn off the ac
Tahun 2012 bulan 7 saya pernah ke pasar tanah abang, waktu itu saya pakai jam tangan, pas waktu itu memang rame sekali, saya lagi liat2,ndak berapa lama tangan saya terasa ditarik pas liat tangan ternyata jam tangan saya hilang, padahal hanya jam tangan saja, apa lagi pakai perhiasan berharga, padahal jam tangan itu pemberian ibu saya, jadi kenang-kenangan saya, kalau teringat kadang ada rasa sedih, tapi kan segala sesuatu sifat nya hanya sementara, hanya ikhlas dan sabar saja kita jalani

Imho.... Indeed, shopping at Thamrin City is better than Tanah Abang In Tanah Abang I can't choose, it's so dense and crowded Hopefully you won't get tired of visiting again. Next time you can take a culinary tour and explore around Jakarta

-Blok C: at the very back, no air conditioning if I'm not mistaken
-Metro / PGMTA: across the street from blok B, the "new hype"
note: during covid many shops close their shop sooo the information in blok A/B about what product in what floor might not be true. So sadly yes, you really need to explore every corner to find what you're looking for. I hope the administrator resolve this quickly.

If you going to splurge I advise you to bring a backpack or suitcase. But suitcase might hinder the walkway so mind for other visitor.
4. Some insight about the area from what I know
Blok A/B: prayer set, children clothing, cheap batik, everyday wear, jeans, uniform
Blok F: cheaper muslim wear & everyday clothes, there's also men suit etc
Blok C: mostly fabric; in the past Pasar Mayestik is famous for it but in recent years it's cheaper in blok C

tanah abang and thamcit are so close from where i stay but i prefer to go to thamcit because it's a lot comfier, not too much blok like tanah abang and still have various choices.
sist, please make an unboxing video about the clothes and hijab you bought when you were in tanah abang and thamrin city💓
Kaya sepi pengunjung😢, semoga video kakak ini ngebantu buat ramehin tempat2 perbelanjaan Indonesia
Yg aku dengar Beberapa blok disewa perusahaan China tapi dikosongkan/ sengaja ga dibuka outlet, katanya strategi menutup usaha lokal
@gigihprihatmanto kalo beneran iya, licik banget!!
@@luluanisah7369 itu bener apa salah aku juga belum yakin
Thamrin bagus buat baju lebaran.
Memang the grass is always greener on the other side😂
Org indo pengen perpakaian yg dijual di malay, org malay pun sebaliknya 😅
Aq Indonesia banyumas jawa tengah ,di Malaysia kerja dah 12 tahun ,,makanan apapun made in Indonesia yg ku mkn ,,😂😂😂 ,,sampai pakaian pun beli nya yg buatan Indonesia 😂😂 ,,dah 12tahun tapi perutku gk cocok makan curry ,,,di Malaysia ,,,
I love how Malaysian wears kebaya for Hari Raya. Cantik❤
seronok laahh! more vlogss pleasee
Waiting on the haul drop!!! Hahaha
Org indo pada pengen baju kebaya malaysia, orang malaysia pengen baju kebaya indo, hidup sawang sinawang banget hahahah
Tandanya kita orang memang serumpun

KOMENTAR NYA ANEH BANGET ENTAH ITU DARI NETIZEN MALAYSIA MAUPUN INDONESIA. BUKANNYA SALING MENDUKUNG MALAH PADA MENJATUHKAN, MUNGKIN ORANG DARI LUAR GPP BISA DITERIMA, YANG ANEHNYA MASYARAKAT MALAYSIA SENDIRI BANYAK KOMENTAR NEGATIF DISINI.
Gw liat dsni kebanyakkan indo ngomen claim2 mulu anjir malu tau
rakyatmu sendiri mba yg comment kek gitu
that lil gocar breakdown is sooo real even more so because its in a place you know very little of 😭😭
I'm indonesian and even haven't been to Tanah Abang! You two both baddies 💥🔥
always be careful for your belongings esp cellphone. However our country isn't as safe as Malay 😅
Jawa?bugis?
Lu bukan orang indo😂 masih keliatan dr bahasanya, malassia malassia😂
@faysupertramp9107 aku org Riau 👀lah kamu dah kenapa😌
Krn dlunya satu kesatuan nusantara. Tapi ibarat kakak adik dlm satu keluarga. Bertengkar itu biasa aja. Nanti baikan lg. Bersatu lg terutama melawan yg batil dan menyakiti salah satunya. Jadi ga usah di highlight lah yg gini2. Krn kamu spt berusaha mengangkat yg satu, menjatuhkan yg lain. End up kita jadi bertengkar lagi krn hal2 sepele. Padahal kamu ngakunya org Indonesia.
Tamcit bener2 Mall klw tanah abang itu pasar
Tahun 2012 bulan 7 saya pernah ke pasar tanah abang, waktu itu saya pakai jam tangan, pas waktu itu memang rame sekali, saya lagi liat2,ndak berapa lama tangan saya terasa ditarik pas liat tangan ternyata jam tangan saya hilang, padahal hanya jam tangan saja, apa lagi pakai perhiasan berharga, padahal jam tangan itu pemberian ibu saya, jadi kenang-kenangan saya, kalau teringat kadang ada rasa sedih, tapi kan segala sesuatu sifat nya hanya sementara, hanya ikhlas dan sabar saja kita jalani
Malaydesh kaki hoaks😂
Koreksi dikit 8:25 Kayak = Seperti / Macam, bukan Kalau ya kak. Kalau tetap Kalau / Kalo(non formal)
Contoh:
Si Fulan perilakunya sama "kayak" orang tuanya (B.Indonesia)
Si Fulan berkelakuan sama "seperti/macam" ibu bapanya (B.Melayu)

lucuuuu banget kalian kaaaaaakkkkkk 🫶
seruu bangett nonton nyaa, jadi pengen ke thamrin
Girlsss.. Ied is still around 3 months later and you already hunting the cloths, OMG.. So before it run out, I need to go there too, OK. Btw enjoy Jakartaaa..
love ur vlog, keep it up!!
Aku kahwin dgn org malaysia.kmk anak beranak slalu ny shopping baju kat tanah abg&mangga 2.murah2 gila..beli minimal 6pcs tuk dapat hrga grosir, boleh campur2 size&warna.seronoknye..
Nnti saya cuba ke sana
I couldn't agree more with your statement that "Tanah Abang isn't for the weak!" hahaha. I myself as an Indonesian and Jakartan in particular have never visited there even once. Even though my mom and my friends asked me to go there, I never wanted to. The place is too big and makes me dizzy. LoL!
wait until you try to go there during ramadhan. especially when idul fitri is near. double impact 😂 udah puasa, rame juga 🎉
Ayyoooo
calm down everybody wkwkwk
kenapa komentator banyak dramatik dan problematik ya
aku nonton vlog ini seru kok
Keren .. duo sister goes to jakarta for shopping 😍
Kalau aku pi sana, aku beli kain tapi jahit kat Malaysia.
I won't be surprise if There is another flexing like,
"Where did u got that gorgeous outfit?"
"Thamrin city, jkt ✨️✨️"
😂😂😂
Hi kak Qina selamat datang di Indonesia, semoga perjalannya menyenangkan. ❤
Tak habis2 gi Tamrin , Tanah Abang, Block M , Mangga 2……….. 😂😂😂 Gi lah kat Spark , Grand Indo, Lotte, Senaya, Plaza Indonesia lagi cantik cantik
suka deh vlog nya ❤
kebaya in blue tu cantik laaaa
Mmng terbukti baju² buatan indonesia keren²& modis ....tp trgantung yg makai sih 😊🤭
keren, selera kamu bagus bgt kak aku suka bgt sama kebaya silvernya dan baju pink yg ikut dipilihin sama cowonya kakak😁😇
Kalau cari kain meter..go to Mayestik Market, endless choices
i luv seeing this kind of video!!
Honestly girls shudnt be afraid to go slightly extra. Semua kena and looking gorgeous.
that lime green kebaya is a beauty, I have one 😄
Please do “thamrin haul” or unboxing what you buy in indonesia
Imho....
Indeed, shopping at Thamrin City is better than Tanah Abang
In Tanah Abang I can't choose, it's so dense and crowded
Hopefully you won't get tired of visiting again.
Next time you can take a culinary tour and explore around Jakarta
Ka aku org indo suka baju kurung malay. Tp ga ada di toko online indo😢
Ada kak di Shopee. Aku beberapa bulan lalu beli namanya falbashopy kalau ga salah
Banyak mbak, biasanya di toko baju syar'i
Aku org Melayu Sumatra tapi kalo baju kurung org sini rata rata beli bahan terus ngupah ke penjahit sih
Soalnya kalo baju kurung nga sesuai sama badan sendiri jadi jelek banget mbak
Apa lagi org indo bentukan/proporsi tubuh nya beda beda
Dari lebar bahu , dada , pinggang , paha
lucu bangett sii😂❤
Saya orang Indonesia jawa Timur... terimakasih sudah belanja di Indonesia...sy like video kalian
kak coba naik krl trus ke bogor trus coba masuk ke kebun raya bogorrr bnyak pohon seruuu and you must try a tradisional food bgor in surya kencana bogor depan kebun raya bogor

Not all bitter, lots of nice comment too... Stay positive 😊😊😊
Pasar central market.. 😊
Kebaya biru menit 14:14 kakak pakai cantiiik🥰
If you want to buy fabric, you should go to mayestik (near blok m)
Go to Bandung and go to Balubur Town Square (Baltos), a lot of moslem wear boutique quality, not mass products
the black kebaya is so pretty
Selamat berbelanja y kaka😊 semuga harimu mnyenangkan❤
Sedih betul sesetengah komen indonesian ya. Tak pa awak buat content lain pulak. Mungkin ke thailand. Thailand seronok. Makan sedap. Baju pun murah
Lah kau nih kenapa ya🤣

@@DhenRidwan-nx6hl iya betul.
