  • Introduces the concept of frequency response and uses examples to demonstrate how the gain and phase of the output change as the frequency of the input is changed. Gives definitions for gain and phase in terms of frequency response.
Lectures aimed at engineering undergraduates. Presentation focuses on understanding key prinicples, processes and problem solving rather than mathematical rigour.

Man, finally a teacher who explains WHY things are the way they are instead of just how. I always find myself wondering what exactly it is that i'm dealing with, and this video is great for truly understanding what exactly the frequency response is. Thanks for an awesome video.

THANK YOU!! In just a few minutes you cleared up a lot of confusion from hours of classtime and studying. This is by far the best explanation on gain and phase shift that I have ever seen. Thanks again

Thank you so much for the clear explanation, especially the example shown between approximately 3:00 and 6:00! I never understood why the frequency respond change according to the input frequency and thus never understood WHY there is a Bode diagram and WHERE it came from. Your simple example with easy numbers and graphs helped me immensely. Thank you so much!

Thank you John. You've really broken it down to simple, chewable and understandable detail. You are a gifted teacher sir!!

We love this channel and it was one of the reasons to start our own. We are a very new channel and will bring content on control theory, linear systems and systems identification. Keep inspiring people, thank you very much!

I would like to know In which area recently research is going on in control system?
Actually I am doing my PHD from india, in Control area, like ADRC design, SMC etc but quite confused regarding my thesis topic. Would you suggest me any topic on recent research?...
