I have a friend who is quite good with his synth and man i would love to learn properly how to play with it ! He told me its easier than it looks but yeah i would need lots of practice :')
The three main components are: 1. Eurorack modular synth, 2. LZX Cyclops laser interface module, 3. ILDA compatible laser projector. You COULD build a modular video rig that is capable of converting audio signals into voltages to send directly into the LZX (so any synthesizer could drive the laser but you would have limited control). However, the way I am doing the laser control is entirely with control voltage specific modules. This is my modular synth: www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/695909, and this is my laser control rack: www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/701954 The primary idea is that you construct a patch enabling control over the X and Y values of the laser's position as well as red, green, and blue lasers individually. Then feed anything into those controls to drive it. I have found so far with my setup that Maths and Peaks are the easiest to do the heavy lifting with control over the lasers but I am transitioning to controlling them entirely with the assimill8or for better control and so I can use peaks/maths entirely for the music aspect.

This is at my office (Warehouse) in downtown LA. You could search for 'Workshop' space in your area and probably find some for lease pretty easy. I just had my motorcycle inside to fix the levers.

No that is a guy that lives in a different unit (but he IS playing with a eurorack, so its not too far off).
what kind of laser are you using?
This is a Laserworld 1watt 20kpps projector. We are currently working on a 3watt 60kpps homebrew though!
