    I think the mall was opened around 1962? One thing I do know for certain, it was the first of it's kind in America.

    Hedgehog; The Mall opened on August 19, 1959. It was expanded by another block one year later, and Yes, it was definitely the first of it's kind. :-)

      Well, not really Bob - the street was opened back up to traffic in 1998 which meant the end of the pedestrian mall. Still a wonderful area, but no longer the walking mall experience it once was.

    Now it's different. Mom worked at buds jewelry. I used to work for Carl rizzuto when he first started his business.
