On the 2019 semi-final. Even if we had managed to get over Kilkenny that day, we still would have had to face Tipp in the final with no guarantee we would have won. As for the Lynch , O Mahoney incident; O Mahoney grabbed Lynch around the neck from behind, Lynch defended himself and O Mahoney will think twice the next day, play on!

The Downey/Lynch/O'Mahoney/O'Donoghue/Mulcahy incident happened beneath us (we were in the Hogan upper). Downey slapped down on Lynch's thigh - there was a loud crack that we heard from our seats (can be heard on the TV replays). I was sitting beside a Clare man who was convinced Downey would be sent-off.
No-one is asking what was O'Mahoney doing up on Lynch's back/neck?
Lynch is not obliged to let him down carefully as he didn't lift him in the first place.
O'Mahoney dragged at Lynch's helmet when he was on Lynch & getting off.
When Lynch was on the ground O'Mahoney then interferred with Lynch's helmet on two more occasions
That incited O'Donoghue to get involved, hence his yellow card.
Mulcahy should not have broken O'Mahoney's hurley.
I'd imagine the Sunday Game didn't cover the incident because they'd have to cover all the incident - ie Downey's slap, O'Mahoney on Lynch's back, O'Mahoney being flipped & dangerously landing on his head/neck, O'Mahoney interferring with Lynch's helmet & Mulcahy breaking Downey's hurley.

O'Mahoney caught Lynch in under his neck with the hurley and was rightfully tossed over Lynchs back. On the ground O'Mahoney slammed Lynchs head into the ground 3 times. Cover all aspects of the incident or none at all.

I listened to this on the podcast and i think Wooly Paul and Damien did a great job breaking down the match. LK are class, and lets herald the first professional hurling inter county team.
Top managment and back room team, and top support from JP with unlimited tax exile dollars. It would be great if all county teams could camp in a 5 star hotel indefinetly to fine tune their style..
Taking all that into account , they do have serious hurlers, once in a generation type thing.
Next year could they stop some of the chopping, high tackles, and kung fu as they can hurl and would beat all teams at hurling hands down anyway..

    • @jamescoughlan8193
      @jamescoughlan8193 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Sick of listening to this shite, JP has been supporting limerick for decades, if an all Ireland could be bought it would have been done every year for decades, this is an exceptional group of players. The great KK team of 2008 period we no angels on the field and those lads would be the first to admit it ask Tommy Walsh or Eddie brennan but people look back at them now like they were saints.
      Grow up lads.

Its not just lynch btw it was just very evident on sunday.. 3 high hurls and a kung foo move..
and tim o mahony was wrong in advance of that before you say.
That o mahony was going around trying to hit all day, it was embarassing for him, he got blown off every ball he went for..
Limerick have a generational team and dont need that shite.. its hurling.. you cant even call it half rugby because the red card would be flying if the rugby refs/tv official got at it ..
      You can be sick away

Snapping a hurly is unsportsmanlike conduct and is heavenly penalize in any other sport. Cork is the worst coached team to ever play in an all Ireland. Limerick good but not that good.

@@fonz114 Small wonder that a player thinks its cool to act like a thug and hear come the out of character excuses. Its beyond ugly seeing a so called grown man throwing a temper tantrum and snapping the opponents gear on TV with kids watching. Blatant extreem taunting in any other sport is a disqualification. If this is where hurling is headed and it's an "AH SHUR IT ONLY A BIT OUT OF CHARACTER" deal, then it's no longer an enjoyable exciting good sportsmanship kind of entertainment for a family. And as for Kingston, he's admirined Limerick enough now. Time to focus on why he didn't tell the Cork defense that the game was on Sunday August 22nd two thousand and f***ing twenty one.
