Men in the South generally prefer tea that is STRONG and SWEET. My aunt used to feed construction workers and concrete finishers every day for lunch. After working in the hot sun they would come in to a FEAST but what they raved about was her tea! It was dark and syrupy and they loved it. She used Lipton too.
Lipton is my favorite! It has the strongest flavor in my opinion. I make it a little different than most though. I put 4 of the Quart sized tea bags in a gallon pot almost filled to the top with water and heat until it is almost to a boil. Then i cover it, turn the burner off, and let it sit 45 minutes. After that i add my 2 cups of sugar to the tea pitcher, pour in the tea, stir and refrigerate. It's strong and sweet
I’ve never tried any but the Lipton and it’s the only kind we ever make. We love it!
I ashamedly enjoyed Cole’s burp.......the face says “here it comes and I’m not holding back”.....then you give him the look and now his face says “oh my bad..I’m sorry”......then he looks to the camera and his face says “no I’m not”....lol..... Your son is adorable !

My favorite is Tetley. I always buy the Bi-Lo brand tea though. I only get the Tetley when it's BOGO. Funny story.. when my son died a lady brought by some Lipton and a bag of sugar. I had my daughter make some tea for the preacher. He made a face but didn't say a word. We found out later the Lipton tea bags was already sweetened. So it had been double sweetened.Talk about embarrassing!! But kinda funny. Never had seen that before.
I use Constant Comment for my ice tea. I put in Agave Syrup, which does NOT make my A1C jump through the roof. I am a Type II diabetic. I take Metformin and no insulin.
You might want to check on this. I did the same thing the other day. If I’m not mistaken The southern style iced tea from Lipton that you picked up is presweetened with sucralose (Splenda). That could explain why you guys thought it was sweeter and the color was lighter. Luzianne has a presweetened one like that as well.
Yes, we discovered this out afterwards! But the regular is still a good bit lighter in color. Thanks for watching!!!

This was a great taste testing sweet tea video!! The Lipton Southern Sweet Tea tasted extra sweet because the tea bag’s are already sweetened but all are delicious tea brands my favorite is Luzianne when I make tea but I love the size and value of the Great Value tea bags

It's funny, I typically do Lipton. Then we've recently started doing the Great Value mostly because the Liptons were always out. But, today I just found a box of Tetley that I had in the cupboard since I bought tea earlier in the year. Tetley was always my favorite growing up, so I decided to try it. I like it so much better. We make sweet (sweetened) tea all the time, I make two to three gallons at a time and we go through it within a few days.
Luzianne is my favorite tea brand. I wished you guys would've reviewed the Community brand of sweet tea. I think you would like it.
This was good to see as I'm in the market for tea. I'm not much of a tea drinker, however. My favorite part of the video was Cole and the look on your face. It cracked me up. LOL
I have been a Luzianne tea drinker for many years. To me it just taste the best.

Red Diamond is good too. And I buy the black box at Walmart $1.12 National Cup. So good. Some times I add a few drops of Orange flavor to a gallon.

This is very interesting, because I've stuck with Luzianne for a while now, and I usually cold brew it, which is different than the way most people would make sweet tea. I'm definitely curious to try another brand and see how it compares. This was a great video.

I have tried and tried different ways to make tea and I tried your way & BAM I made my first great tasting tea! I’m so excited. I had Luzianne and it’s literally perfect. I wrote it down so I can make it again the exact same way next time. Times I’ve made it before it was so bitter and i wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong. So thank you for making this ❤️❤️❤️
This was fun to see!! NOT Lipton fans here at all, but we don't drink any of the other brands either. We prefer Red Rose, which Walmart used to carry, but has stopped. I do a blend of green tea with the regular tea and have to make it by the gallon, 2-3 at a time, and no, we're not from the South. Lol

My favorite is the peach tea...especially the Golden Peak peach tea! Have you try those? They also have sweet tea.
I used to love Snapple Peach Tea - my daddy always had that in the fridge - it was his fav!

I use luzianne... and I have for years...granny only used Lipton... she'd shake that head at me for sure... gonna try they GV just for giggles...
My friends in new Orleans mailed me a huge care package including luzianne tea. My hubby loves it!
Luzianne isn't steeped the same though. You use less for how much your steeping.

That Lipton one is already sweetened, that's why it was so sweet. I had to go back and re-watch bc I thought that's what you picked up. I used to make Lipton, now I make Luzianne.
Yup! Jenn told me that a little while ago and I looked at the box and YEP. Sigh. LOL
Luzianne also makes a pre-sweetened one. I’ve used both and prefer Luzianne. They’re both pretty good.
This was so fun, Mandy! I commented on Jen's channel we have been using Red Diamond after using Luzianne forever and we just wanted a change and I didn't like Lipton although that's what my mom always used. I had no idea this tea test was coming up and just grabbed a box of Great Value at Walmart last week and made it and didn't even tell my husband and he commented on how good the tea was. lol I guess I'll be buying Great Value for a while. I just read Jen's comment about Southern Style Lipton and I didn't even know there was a southern style I may have to try that just to see if I like it also. Again, such a fun video!

I make my own iced tea from tea bags in a pitcher in the fridge
We mix that same Lipton and the Luzianne in our house. 2 bags Lipton, 1 bag Luzianne in the Mr. Coffee tea maker. 👍🏻

Mandy in the Making it’s not super sweet but it’s a good mix. My husband doesn’t like it too sweet. But I grew up on my Texan grandmother’s sweet tea, which always had 1.5 cups sugar. 😉

We usually drink decaf Lipton. I only use 3/4 c sugar for a gallon and steep it for at least 30 minutes

I have ordered Apricot Brandy for 30 years from the The Spice Merchant in Wichita Kansas.
Great value is what I use because I like a strong sweet tea. But I love all sweet tea and Lipton is good to me too! Maybe I will do this blind test to see what we like!

Upon ATK, I went out and spent $8 (W/M) for a box of "Twinings" (I think it was a 50 pkg...whatever W/M was carrying). I think it made an extremely WEAK tea. I even put 'extra' bags. Still a 'boring' cup/s of tea.

I have to drink decaf tea so a few years ago I discovered Luzianne decaf. You can’t even tell it is a decaf and I add 1 cup of sugar to 4 family size bags. I can drink it all day long and it won’t keep me up.

I just did a taste test with Lipton regular, not Southern, and Great Value, both sweetened with sugar, couldn’t tell the difference. Lipton is twice the price of Great Value…so I’ll stick with Great Value.
