its not popping when you let off in 5th because there's not enough engine breaking occurring when you let off. it happens to alot of bikes in higher gear due to where it sits in the rpm range.
No it just has to do with the factory tune of the bike, my last s1k didn’t pop in 4th but popped in 5th, weird bmw things haha

What would the best starter bike be?
If you have 0 experience riding motorcycles and or dirt bikes i would get a 300. If you have some experience on dirt bikes i would get something like the Aprilia Rs 660, Yamaha R7/ MT07 or the new Ninja ZX4RR.
