One of the best Celtic managers in my lifetime, and a man who left a profound impact in the east end of glasgow, not just because of the football, but because he understood our club, it’s story, and our story as fans. His story has many parallels to that of our grandparents and great grandparents, and what led to the birth of Glasgow Celtic. He and his community and club in Melbourne have and still do fiercely hold onto their Greek roots, in the same way our community do our Irish. Glasgow Celtic, created by immigrants.
Fair play to you mate. Love from a spurs fan. Thank you for the gift that is ange. Ill always followed Celtic anyways aside from the Prem. My grandparents was Irish Catholics. So its was kinda political to support the Celts 😂 ☘️… Much love bro
Absolute nonsense . You haven't ever had a protestant member on your board and sing about the IRA and bombing of the UK at every single match . You set off fireworks when the queen passed and only club in Britain who doesn't wear a poppy on your shirts on remembrance weekend . The ''irish''' as you say couldnt care less about Celtic . Stop trying to get love from strangers which is your inferiority complex which is why you want to ''make friends'' with other football teams for some warped reason . Tell the truth . Your club has covered up child abuse for decades and is now , finally , offering its vicTIMS compensation for the heinous crimes your club hid for decades . Also , tell the truth about the IRA songs , the songs about bombing the uk and how you HATE the country you live in .

@@stevenhamilton6845 Ofc. But the principle remains the same. Find good, young, hungry players who fit the system. Brennan from Forest is ideal for them. And relatively cheap for EPL standards. Maddison £45m. Again, good value in this market. The point he stresses most is fit.
@BeatPoet67 to win trophies... to compete with the best which is City and Liverpool you need quality aswell. Quality more than likely costs money as is proven in the success of clubs with trophies
As a Rangers fan it is easy for you to like others and vice versa when you realise Rangers are an institution and not merely a football club.
Leadership lessons for free, what’s not to love about big Ange. Doing both Spurs and Australia proud!
How can you watch that and not have a huge smile on your face. Ange. What a legend.
I love Greece and the Greek people. I love Australia and the Aussies. I've been a fan of Spurs for almost 40 years.... this is like all my Christmases coming at once. What a man. ❤
Ange embodies the best characteristics of both Greeks and Aussies. A typical Greek Australian; attitude, demeanour and even his Melbourne accent.
Total Melbournian.
Thanks for your kind words Stephen
You can see Ange lights up when he gets to talk football with real football people. And, yes, leadership lessons for free, from such an insightful and inspirational leader across any sporting code or business.
He's excellent on the mic. Honest, articulated, well thought out responses. Facinating manager and an asset to the premier league
Top man. We're all very proud of him back home.
AEK Athens fan here . Love this guy 💛🖤
In case u didn’t know, Ange interviewed for the aek manager role, but was edged out by another candidate, and then landed the Celtic job!
I’m a Gooner but I find Ange impossible not to like. Very confusing!😂
exactly the same emotions here
this was how many R*ngers fans felt too 😂🍀
It will all fall in place. Just a reminder, VAR. The Ref and Arteta are all part of the game.
Its the accent mate.
I'm a Spurs fan mate and I be honest last year i was insanely jealous of what was happening next door a young manager that loves the club, young players (good signings) great style of play under Arteta.
He was given time, AND funds, and it is paying off.
But with Ange and how he has brough playing in AND playing folk in the right position (see Bissouma) we look transformed. I am excited about Saturday afternoons again in a way i wasn't under Jose or especially Conte.
Looking forward to tomorrows game mate, you ALWAYS have the advantage at your place. But it could well be a classic
Most likable manager ever, and he went to a club I support!
One of the most genuine and humble guys. From he’s interviews, press conferences too his speeches to the players. Honestly it sometimes brings tears to my eyes. 💚❤️
he has a massive ego. I don't begrudge him of that however don't mistake platitudes for humility.
@@Lupi33z Exactly, I'm aussie and love Ange. He is down to earth but humble he ain't. He has a chip on his shoulder and has a massive ego. This has helped him throughout most (but not all) of his career.
Gooner here. Ange seems genuinely a great guy to work for. I love his energy and smile. Good luck to Spurs and Ange!
Ange is a gem! As an aussie and a Brisbane Roar fan, the love and admiration I have for this man is colossal. But as an Arsenal fan this leaves me so conflicted!! lol Show 'em what you got mate.
I am a Chelsea fan but I really hope this guy wins a trophy with Tottenham. There's an air of hard work, humility, and sheer genuineness about him. & I really don't feel he's "too late" to succeed in Europe. He's 58 and there are many older coaches across Europe so he probably has +15 years at the top. Good luck to Tottenham!
Glasgow Celtic, created by immigrants.
class comment m8
Fair play to you mate. Love from a spurs fan. Thank you for the gift that is ange. Ill always followed Celtic anyways aside from the Prem. My grandparents was Irish Catholics. So its was kinda political to support the Celts 😂 ☘️… Much love bro
That's a brilliant piece mate, I'm English/Australian being outnumbered by Eastern Muslims lol! True!
Very true!
As a Celtic fan I cannot express how much I miss this guy. Such a well spoken man with a fantastic attitude towards the game. Hope he proves all the doubters wrong, best of luck to spurs, you've got a gem.
At least you got to have him. There’s club kicking themselves for brushing him because he’s Australian
Been a spurs fan since I was a kid. I absolutely loved the Poch era. Loved Poch himself, and the kind of football we played. Also, what a team we had in the early Poch reign! Thought it would take a long time to ever see that kind of vibe and team thriving again. It may still take a long time. However, Ange seems a top bloke and I'm loving the attacking football; the players do look happy. You cannot be at your best if you're not happy. Keep up the good work Ange. James Maddison has also been a game changer. COYS
Hands down, Ange is THE signing of the season.
As a Celtic fan I love him still. Amazing 2 years, the football was exciting and the place was buzzing. All the best Big Man 🇦🇺🍀
As an Aussie I was stoked when he got the Tottenham job but disappointed at the same time because I had become a Celtic fan. I am sure I am not alone in that regard. I have followed his career with interest and success has come with every move. There is little doubt that there will be a surge in the number of Aussie Tottenham members.
Cringe.
As an aussie, stop trying to claim credit because you share the same citizenship at ange
@@bh2861 Get real - exactly what credit am I claiming? I am a Melbourne Victory supporter and Ange was our Manager for a while. Everywhere that Ange has gone there have been doubters and he has proved those wrong on each and every occasion. I can predict that Kevin Muscat will be the next Aussie manager going places.
I've watched a few of his interviews and the thing that jumps out in the comments is the respect and even affection from RANGERS fans!
Ange has that Bear energy - cute and cuddly yet deadly. Great manager and person.
Kung-Fu Panda
@truebeliever4488 haha nailed it ❤
Kung-Fu Koala!
As a Rangers fan, I can honeslty say.....this guy oozes pure class. Yeah, he turned my team over numerous times, but you just knew he was always destined for something bigger than Scotland. He will win Spurs a trophy 100%. Best of luck, Ange 🤝🏻
After watching Ange here with Brisbane Roar and then following Celtic and seeing the same rollercoaster ride it was always great to read some Rangers comments that appreciated the football and Ange's love of the game and not the dislike of the opposition.
Same again at Spurs it seems.
Best Cheers mate, it's funny how I'm now watching Spurs and still enjoying the SPL rivalry.
PS. Was still biased towards Celtic until reading your comment.
Celtic fan here.
This man is in my opinion one of the best out there at building teams up.
He come to Celtic when we needed that reset and he done so good and made us unstoppable again.
He’s a great manager and has the potential to be one of the best.
I feel like this guy's the real deal for tottenham. I can't imagine a single player in their dressing room not wanting to run through brick walls for him
Ange Postecoglou is the perfect man for the job, considering his inspirational story, the obstacles he has overcome, and his admirable respect for his father. COYS!
so was Poch, Jose and Conte according to spurs fans. But they all failed to do anything note worthy at Spurs.
@@guneytopal7076exactly
He transformed the J-League, Guvnor. And he's opened the doors for Australian managers around the world.
Enjoy the Angeball buzz, mate!
...thanks Gary for having him at BBC sports...as the guy is undeniably the Best currently Manager worldwide...a true Legend...and as CELTIC 🏴 supporter since 1966 and no matter if I am not British, I am wishing from the bottom of my heart a great career to Spurs for this Man...the Greatest of all...Ange Postecoglou...
I don't think I've ever come across another manager that I've wanted to succeed more than Ange. A genuine bloke with a big love of the game and it's so great to see. And his recent interview over Richarlison just makes you love him even more. He's waited for this opportunity all his career and as soon as he gets there, he loses his biggest key player within a couple of days and yet Spurs have had their best top flight start in 60 odd years. What a bloke, come on Ange!
Honestly I could listen to the man for hours, so honest and charismatic we don't get to see this from managers
I hope he does well but tbh wherever he goes going forward I'll always keep an eye on him for interviews
Every single word he says is just so genuine, straight from the heart. Love it.
As a rangers fan boy am I glad he left Scotland. Genuinely a top top manager. Wish him all the best
When he talks he sounds so inspiring. Can only imagine what effect that has on the players. My god we’re very lucky to have him.
He is a breath of fresh air to Tottenham. Mourinho and Conte were always blaming and Ange always takes responsibility. It’ll be interesting to see how he is during tough times at Tottenham
Just shows how bad those two were - conte didn’t once accept accountability for the performances.
This man is such a different leader. A good bloke who talks about emotions and isn't afraid to show them. Wears them on his sleeve. Good guys can be leaders. Love you Ange! Wish you the best! 😁🦘
This man Ange will bring trophies to Spurs great manager sorely missed 🍀
Liverpool fan here from Australia and I am soooo proud of Ange !!!!!
Impossible to hate him. Brought a whole new attitude to the team. Speaks positively and that's translating onto the players. Big tests ahead but he's faced them all his career.
Today was the first time I heard this man and what an impressive human being , respectful , intelligent , funny ( the Australian way ) and a love for the job he is doing and if you love your job ……….that’s right.
A rare find. Great manager - as a Liverpool fan i genuinely wish him all the best.
You’s have got a belter too but, aye Ange is class
He will be Liverpool manager one day… watch this space!!!
Ange is a breath of fresh air in football management. Doesn't spout nonsense terms, tells it how it is, gets the players playing for their team, fans and one another. A Great man. As a Celtic fan I'm sorry to see him go but will follow his career with great affection for him.
As an Arsenal fan; Its hard not to like this man, he’s seems like a genuine kind human, who loves the game and challenge. He’s a very bright light at troubled club. I wish him luck.
This guy is just what Tottenham need - very assertive & professional in his opinion & belief in where this once great club should be going. Top guy mate👊
That 'welcome home' to Gary right at the start. Love it
Absolutely love Big Ange - he’s so real and I love his mentality, how down to earth he is and his style of play. He seems like the sort of Manager I’d run through a wall for
What a Top Manager as well as a top person!! Come on You Spurs!!
A absolute breath of fresh air to spurs and the premiership
Liverpool fan here, Brit living’ in Aus, was hoping a few more years at Celtic for Ange and then taking over at LFC when Klopp moves on. But this has worked out well… now Ange will have some premier league experience when he joins the reds in the future 👍🏼
Aussie lifetime Man City fan here sorry but I want him to come to City next
If he is a Success at Spurs he will not be leaving Tottenham Hotspur for any club in England, No League titles in 63 years and still average more then leverpool.
As a celtic supporter and a Liverpool fan , I was hoping that would happen as well .
Ange is a different gravy. He changed my club and he has changed Spurs. I love him and always will for what he did for us. ❤
I've been a fan since he was manager at Brisbane Roar in Australia. I still have the photo I took with him at the parade when we celebrated winning the league. We went 36 games undefeated. Never been done before or since in Australia. He really is a top manager.
There's a longer 21min version on Iplayer for UK folks. 👍

2 spurs heroes talking to each other, you love to see it
Being Aussie, it's so good to see one of us make a name for themselves and put Australia on the map of football. this last 12 months has been big for Australia and football, the world cup, Ange, A few players being spotted. I really hope this opens Europe up to looking further down south to us and give some of the talent down here a go.
Being an Aussie, I love Ange but I hate Tottenham. And it’s doing my head in that Ange is slowly reversing my dislike of them
Ange the best manager we've had since Poch, he could quickly surpass what Poch did for us because what he offers us spans far beyond just football. He's the perfect Spurs manager and I hope he'll build something special, similar to what Klopp and Arteta have done at their respective clubs. Glad Levy finally got it right.
We fans have to realise it may take ange a couple of seasons and the right players to make things good again let's hope levy don't sack him after 1 season if we don't get top 4
Its only 5 games mate 😂
@@Stand663 nonsense

This is a man that I would want to follow to hell and back. He is open, he is likable, he is humble and knows what is ahead of him. He will revolutionize the Prem whether people know it or not

Aussie Man U fan here and I love big Ange, he’s virtually impossible not to like and admire.
A great human being and an underrated manger.
Well done Spurs on trusting him with the position of manager.
Whatever happens he will give it his all, and already Spurs are playing a great brand of football, and it’s already obvious the players will run through brick walls for him !
Well done Ange and well done Spurs !
Having coffee in oakleigh in Melbourne big ang was walking bye called him over stayed talked football just a really friendly guy.
He comes across incredibly well, he’s very likeable. Atm he seems like a great fit for Spurs. It’s not always about getting the greatest managers/players but it’s about getting the right ones.
Maaate! Gotta love Ange. As a Wolves man in OZ, I wished him every success at Celtic, but now....Still glad he is showing how good we can be.
Such a great person, comes over so well, if there was any manager that can get us success its got to be Ange. I was lucky enough to see us win the double back in the 60's and he has the making of another Bill Nicholson. Good luck to big Ange.
I have followed Ange since his playing days at South Melbourne. I'm so proud of him and his achievements. Like him a long time Liverpool fan but mixed feelings before our game this weekend.
What an incredible human being. He is loved because we all see him for who and what he is. He talks inclusively for the love of the game. He is Spurs manager, but the whole game benefits. As a Gooner I should be miffed. I'm not. He's good, a top bloke and Spurs will win trophies playing great football. NLD last w/e was a cracking match. Spurs are good again. Ange is the reason why. They are still our rival. But Ange changes that by bringing a respect to Spurs that never existed before! Weird really.
Absolute legend already. Seems a great guy... Breath of fresh air, just what the Premier league needed. Early days, but Spurs look the real deal!!
I watch Ange more than I watch premier league. One of a kind man.
Can't get enough of Ange and these interviews. Beautiful mind.
Proud to have such a manager at the club. What an incredible ambassador to both Greece and Australia. What a man

They are in good form, yes ik Brighton humbled United badly but I had a weird feeling AEK was gonna a point but kinda was expecting them to get three points but wasn't expecting to score more than 1 (maybe two depending if they score a set piece goal)
He talks so well. Even as a Chelsea fan I'm glad Tottenham have given him a chance in the Premier league. He absolutely deserves it
Football has been the cornerstone of all our lives for so long. The past 20 years that has drifted. Money has absorbed all our “passion”. I support Celtic so of course I love ange. Him speaking, and his motivation on players, I hope continues to correct the cancer that we have.
Yes, I followed Ange to Celtic after his time here with Brisbane Roar.
It was a great two seasons and a joy to follow Celtic from afar.
I recall someone asked Ange how he got the players on board and he said, something like, "I tell them when you arrive at training you came past the bus stop and those people maybe fans are going to work at a job they have to do so as to feed their families and you're getting paid to come here and do something you love, play football, don't let me hear you complaining"
Could go on, but I appreciate following Celtic still. Best Cheers
Liverpool fan here…love this guy, even after this 2-1 defeat against them..top top human being..seems like he’s the same as a manager..
Something special about him and I’m an Arsenal fan 😳
What a genuinely nice man he seems. I think spurs have got a good manager here.
He’s a gem and he said it himself he was found late, a man I have nothing but good words for and I wish every success, he brought my team out of a massive low into success with a market that’s made us millions with more to follow, I dislike Tottenham but I love ange, a strange dichotomy
Great interview with new insights into the man and his management style that have yet to be heard in the 1001 other interviews he has somehow given.
Ange, what a sterling character he has and is. As an Aussie, can’t tell you how brilliant it is to watch his journey and see how passionate he is about it. He will change world football culture, for the better 😉
