- Far more entertaining than a telethon, it's the SCUMM-A-THON! But why is it called SCUMM, I hear you cry? (Fans of the show will get that reference.) Likely broadcast in April of 2006.
With many thanks to the special guest artist who sent this footage!
And a huge thank you to HalfbrickVHS for your beautiful VHS transfer of this tape.
Also thanks to another friend for your efforts with this tricky tape.
Unfortunately, The Crunch is now lost media, as the network did not save any archive of the show. All sources indicate that the master tapes were thrown out or lost over the course of several Nickelodeon UK headquarters location changes. The show likely survives only on viewer-made home recordings, and very few of such clips have surfaced, despite some 400 episodes made.
The Crunch is a lost gem of the 2000s, and my personal favourite Nickelodeon show. If you have any footage from this or other presenter-led Nick UK shows, or if you can help in the search, please consider getting in touch. I'd love to work something out, and am happy to reimburse any expenses and offer something in return. Would be very grateful to hear from anyone.

Great clip thanks
this was before Ed Petrie became the host for the rebrand of CBBC in September 2007 before leaving in June 2010. I'm guessing BBC bosses saw him in this and said yeah he'd probably make a great host for the overhaul of our children's channel
I agree. At the time, Nickelodeon UK was a great starting place for young creatives to get experience in the TV industry. A *lot* of presenters/crew who started out at Nickelodeon went on to have very successful careers at bigger channels.
And Beth Palmer then became one of the voiceovers for Channel 4.
