Big difference between Beal and Kuzma. Beals deal crippled the team. Kuzma has a deal that helps the cap. They can't have all young players. They need a vet who can show them the way, a champion as well. I'm not saying don't trade him, but get two #1picks, with one a lottery pick...
Finally you have some competent management, You are so used to getting fleeced that you don't know savvy moves when you see them. These are the same guy's who help rebuild OKC, if they think they can get two they must know something.
I'm not sure they think they can get 2 picks, but you won't get a good deal if you are desperate to sell. Right now, most of the deals are one pick plus bad players with high contracts , i think they should get better players with the draft pick.
No, it’s not too steep. Kuzma is only 28 with a descending contract. 22,7,4 player. Who’s a good guy in the locker room. Wiz need to stand firm on that.
First question: If the Wiz has to take back an albatross contract and/or a team trying to avoid the tax, they should ask for 2. Second question, if Kuzma is worth two first rounders, Deni and his contract are worth 3. If someone gives a good deal for Kispert, then trade him. .
Kuzma works hard, is a good guy on and off the court, and has a team friendly deal... Is very productive and probably will be even better next year. Damn right you ask for two number one picks... Overpay, or he stays...win win... wizards don't own other teams a damn thing. Trade scenarios online and cable shows always have the wizards giving it up smooth. Those days are over
You are correct, but you should also consider the opportunity cost for keeping him. If Kuzma stays, it may make it difficult to draft and develop a BPA for the long run if it is a power forward, due to possibly overcrowding and, as a result, not having enough minutes to develop a prospective rookie at that position. This is a scenario that appears likely given that the Wizards control the second choice in the draft, and there are many intriguing prospects specifically at that position.
Yea, and he will be 30 next season, taking up valuable starter minutes from a developmental player. You're not getting two lottery picks or even two first round picks because the teams most likely to think Kuzma is the missing piece on their roster don't even have those picks. I wish people would think a bit more about the perspective of other teams. No one is out there asking how they can help the Wizards out.
I think we should make trade with Spur. They have picks, nice quality picks than other teams. If Kuz could be two 1rd picks for trade, then Deni should be three. If we e ask for no.8 pick + future two 1rd picks + Keldon, I think Spur will say YES.
I know people aren’t gonna like it, but this front office gotta start looking at Kuzma trades that aren’t as glamorous. For example a Harrison Barnes + Davion Mitchell + 13th Pick for Kuzma trade.
@@modax0 Unless Dawkins is going to accept one first and a couple of seconds, you’re probably not getting a much better offer than this for Kuzma in the market. They would still be getting a player in Barnes who they can flip for more draft capital later. I just need for Wizard fans to lower their expectations for what they might think Kuzma would net in return.
@@victorakwaowo7998 I'd add to the trade (since the Wiz has to take the rotting corpse of Harrison Barnes) and give the Kings 26 for a top protected first next year or 2026.
Brandon, I do share your thoughts that maybe an asking price of two draft choices for Kuz might be stretching it, and that a high lottery pick should be sufficient. I guess we'll all be wiser as to the Wizards true intentions by, and during , the actual draft.
Kuz is awesome but you have to take the best deal for him. He is on a friendly deal but is he a long term piece? No. Take a bad contract or two and a first round pick and move on.
In all honesty kuz could be better than he was it's entirely possible he could get better next year but I think we will most likely get Risacher at #2 and I'd rather have him start simply because he's our second pick.
If you move Deni and Corey, y’all are the dumbest franchise in the NBA. They are worth 50 points a game together with great efficiency. And Deni is a machine on defense.
The Wiz should trade Kispert before his next contract. Wings who don't play defense aren't worth that much Deni isn't untradeable but I doubt the Wiz would give him up for anything other than a major haul
The 2 first round picks thing plus asking Kuz if he wanted to be traded always seemed like more of sales tactics to me, if we get an offer we really like whether it’s 1 1st or 2 Dawkins is gonna take it an he won’t ask Kuz for permission. I just don’t think he liked the Mavs offer so he asked Kuz so he could build more trust
Kuzma's contract makes him incredibly valuable to a contender. I think a contender who is already paying their stars is more likely than one whose star is a year away from their payday since Kuz's contract runs several more years. His price to production has to be among the best veteran contracts in the league and he has a ring as a supporting guy in his trophy case. So I wouldn't budge from the price because the two 1sts you'd be getting would be low, low picks.
Sacramento is thought to be willing to trade the #13 pick. Does anyone want to try to tell me that grabbing Sarr or Risacher or Castle at #2 and Edey at #13 is a bad idea? Or do you want to hold on to that two firsts or nothing thing?
If they can get rid of his salary, then that alone would be good enough compensation for me. We need player who play at a consistent level, in multiple facets of the game.
I saw a trade idea I like from Utility Sports. I tinkered with it & came away with this; Wizards receive Malaki Branham, Julian Champagne, 2024 #4 pick, & 2025 1st Rd pick (Chi). Spurs receive 2024 #2 pick, & Landry Shamet. Wizards draft Donovan Clingan @ #4, while getting an additional 1st Rd pick in a very good 2025 draft. (This part is just for giggles) - Wizards have the Champagnie twins & offer free orange juice to fans & have Mimosa Night!!
In 2024 the #2 pick and the #4 pick are not much different (there are like 5 players who can go 2-6 in any order), so essentially you are asking for a 2025 first round pick and 2 players for Landry Shamet? The Spurs would have to be drunk to even consider this...
I agree with you. Kyle does need to be moved for the sake of developing the younger players. He did take away touches from others. In Brian Keefe's first post game press conference the first thing he said was the team needed to pass the ball more. When they moved Poole to the bench Keefe said one of the reasons he moved him was to get the ball in his hands because he could see that Kuz and Deni were absorbing a lot of the offense so this was way to get the ball in his hands. I believe they ended up talking to him about his ball hogging because when you asked him at his exit interview what he was going to do differently next season. He said to get others involved. That going out and scoring 30 points without was not necessarily a good thing of he was the only one shooting. I think they will trade him and of they keep him, they will make sure he's not a hinderence to the development of the others.
I'd like to think that Kuzma has NOT reached his zenith! Give me one more year of Kuz in a Wiz uniform, but be prepared to trade him to a contender mid-season. That's when we'll get best value for him, I hope!
I think Vuc should start but at the 4 cause I don't think he can guard or rebound against bigger 5's. Best case scenario the hawks draft Risacher and we get Sarr so a starting lineup of Poole Bilal Deni Vuc Sarr (given we trade Kuz)
If Kispert can grow on the defensive end next year, like he did on the offensive end this year, I’d keep him. My one issue with Corey is his really low rebound totals. He has size, jumps well and his basketball awareness with the ball in his hands this year was really apparent. He needs to expand that awareness to the defensive and rebounding side of the game.
Deni is TOO good to stay in the sense that we need to think 3 years of rebuild and Deni is the only piece that teams who want to win will pay nicely for. JP and Kuz make bad decisions and don't D, we won't get fair value for them. Kispert needs D to be a good trade piece but is tradable.

Good content Mr. Scott! Agree 100. Here’s my dream scenario: Pick Clingon and trade Kuz to move up and take Providence guard Devin Carter
Clingan and Carter, I like it!
