I’d wager anyone that has lost their phone with the X-Grip wasn’t using the rubber tether, but I do like that you can move the side arms on this so it doesn’t interfere with power/volume buttons.
Yep, the X Grip is still pretty reliable especially when you use the tether. This one's got best of both worlds...super quick in and out, and it is not going anywhere!
#2 reason to have a phone on your scooter is a Speedometer app. Most speedometers indicated speed are off. You can use a speedometer app with real time GPS to check your speedometer even if you don't have cell service on the phone. They also have features your scooter may not have like a trip odometer. GPS Navigation will work without cell service because these apps use the phones built in radio frequency GPS system that connects to radio towers, not cell towers.
@@VespaMotorsport hi, when you fixed the diamond base to the holster, which one of the three optional bolts did you use? Should I torque such that the bolt penetrates through the nylock nut? Or does it sit flush in line with the nut (not jutting out on the otherside and into the cavity provided in the holster)? The first option is more secure but am worried I'll wear the threading of the nut.
Hi, I have seen now a couple of videos and read a few articles, that mounting a smartphone with image stabiliser like iPhone 11 have being destroyed, because they can’t stand the vibration from the bike / scooter… any info about this matter?
Probably not the best option as the stems are also tapered. We have some other RAM mount option on our website, such as mirror stem base mounts and universal claw mount.
No, you will need to buy one of the mounting kits we offer (RAM-XX1, RAM-XX0), or purchase just the diamond ball (not on our website, but give us a call or you can purchase directly from RAM). Thanks!
We don't have any experience with the Quadlock. They look super solid, although it looks like you need a phone specific case or mount attached to case? Maybe a product for us to look into. Thanks!
@@VespaMotorsport yes it requires a done mount but it's not intrusive, I used them for cycling, so know the brand. Great videos btw, I'm just getting into scooting. Thx for the reply.
It requires a special case correct? Many phone users like me have wireless charging phones (some even with the magnetic thing to hold the phone to the charger) so having a different case is a no go. I want my holder ot be able to be used with most phones and a newer phone when I upgrade it.
@@NoFrictionZone I may understanding it wrong but if you attach that to the back of my phone case how will I do the wireless charging? Wireless charging stops working even with a case that is 1/8" thick or over.

Just lost mine on an X-grip, even with the rubber tether.
Robot, you're the best. Your videos are super helpful and provide a lot of info about and fixes for my Primavera. Thanks.
Glad to hear it!
I agree! Always informative. I feel bad I’m in 🇨🇦

Your a legend !!!! I love your intro like you waking up to do the video, BEST EYE CATCHER laughed so hard!!!
God Bless
I prefer the Quad Lock mount. Simple and holds well.
Love mine.
Robot, were tgose x mount rybber ends you had on the quick grip? Why didnt you showcase what you did there??
Thanks for your fast reply! It’s effecting only the smartphones with image stabiliser like iPhone 11, X and new Galaxy phones...
We'll definitely keep an eye out for that. Thanks...

Haven't heard of that one. We haven't had any issues with our phones over the years. We'll have to test some new phones and see what happens...
Would this work on the ET4 mirror stems which have a plastic sheathing?

I came to see exactly this.
@@VespaMotorsport where can I find info on mount compatible with the original et4 mirror stems? I checked but can't find any phone mounts. 😕
ET4 for life
Which one would be best for a 2007 GT(s?) 200 Grantourismo, for a mini iPhone (and action cam)
Will a windscreen interfere with this ?
Another brilliant vdo robot. Thanks 😊
My pleasure!
Where can I just get the ubolt plastic spacer? Is there a sku or size?
Is this what you need? www.rammount.com/part/RAP-319U

I use my phone as a speedometer, because the actual speedo on my Vespa is really inaccurate.
That's a good use for the smart phone as well. The Vespa speedo's are notoriously optimistic.
That is one ugly piece of kit!
Fit in the mirror of the px model ?
Should fit just fine. The clamp will fit on just about any round tube and is fully adjustable.
