Those units that are dealing so much damage to you in the secret mission... pretty sure those are the mercenaries you've been calling bad throughout the whole campaign.
It's fine if you don't want to build mercs, that's your choice, but they are not bad units (most of them anyway, as firebats are still bad, the merc firebats are at least slightly usable) You get 4 nearly instant marines, each cost 62.5 minerals instead of 50, but have 30 more hp (from 45 to 75 without and from 55 to 85 with combat shield), do 2 more damage (that is a significant enough difference, especially when most of the time the enemy gets more upgrades than you and may have upgrades earlier than you) It's just an overall stronger unit that you can get pretty fast, and also the different mercs don't share cooldown, so you can instantly build a small army if you have banked resources, need to rebuild, or in general to build an army faster. Also they do get the armory upgrades. I'm probably being annoying, but i'd suggest checking out the siege breaker's stats, it will blow your mind away. The reason to irradiate a mech unit, is that it still does damage to nearby bio units, so you can say, put it on your own banshees/wraiths, fly over stuff while cloaked and do damage that way. The damage is still not particularly good and stuff, but eh, technically possible to do. Also technically usable on say, goliaths and whatever else non-bio frontline you had if you are a mech army, to do extra damage vs zerglings, most zerg, zealots and stuff like that. 20:30 You have the +40 damage to primary target armory upgrade, likely the enemy had it too, seeing how the banshees had the missile barrage upgrade. Sidenote, i wish the splash damage values were shown somewhere in-game, since the tanks' splash damage is unaffected, mostly because the 40 damage is a separate damage instance that has no splash damage, the UI just has a dummy damage instance that shows both or something of the sort
During the secret mission the warbot becomes one of your units so you can directly control it (during the infiltration but not during the escape), one strat when you know this mission well is to use plasma gun and grenades to wipe the hangar/thor and then pick the anti armor warbot to kill the brutalisk easily. For the ultras don't worry pretty sure everyone picked them at least once if only to look at them massacre the dominion. It's been a blast watching you play the campain and hear your inputs as a pro player, gl hf with the remaining missions!
yeah...he did not play smart.... but he has also a bug with the bot(not possible to control). happened to me sometimes for fix that u have to restart the mission
Indeed. We're not here for a campaign tutorial, as many of us have probably already completed that 10 years ago. We're here for an authetic let's play, and that's what we've got so far.
Don't forget to check the research console, you get credits for extra research Didn't expect a new video but I'll eat it up Minor spoiler for your upgrade: Upgrade your bunkers, you WILL need it in the last mission
yeah... i play campaign infinite time....bunker way is a choice, but there are infinite way to play almost all mission and it is what i like of this game with awesome story
Love your playthrough. Wouldn't worry about reloading on the pre-deployed no-macro missions, they involve map knowledge and are punishing on brutal. Have you considered playing a coop campaign? If you can find two others, they make for good content. It increases difficulty and adds new mechanics in addition to letting you play with others. Harstem & UpATreeZelda are playing one. Campaign content creators GiantGrantGames, Jayborino, and Synergy did a full playthrough a few years back, too.
mercs are in fact golden. you press a key and you have 2 siege breakers that are probably best unit in the game or the 3 vikings in all in air. No production time, die less, do more dmg most of them have 2 charges or 3. If I have to rank them 1. Siege breakers 2. vikings/marrines 3 Spartans but only if you upgrade them in the armory and have science vessel
Basically while you are macroing and have enough resources to spare, it's really easy to just click the merc compound and buy all the relevant mercs and throw them into your army. Like if you are playing MMM you can just casually buy the elite marines and marauders. They do more damage than the standard units while taking up the same density in your bio ball. Just think of them as the cherry on top for your army. Siege Breakers are insane for this reason btw, they're probably the best unit in the campaign lol
Mercenaries are an instantly spawning unit with 0 build time that are stronger then regular units. There is no reason not to build them when you are floating minerals or need forces quickly. It also allows you to quickly get out units that you dont have buildings for yet.
I think you are misjudging the mercenaries. You are not supposed to only build mercs but instead reinforce your army with them. The instant build time makes them especially useful if you quickly need some units. For example when the Odin was attacked by the BCs you could have purchased the Viking mercs to save the Odin easily. But I think you did not unlock a lot of the mercenaries. If that is the case then you should definitely do this now! (Mercenaries contracts can be unlocked in the Cantina on the Hyperion)
The first warbot is controllable, but best not to use it until U reach the brutalisks, there is a hidden achievement for it dealing the killing blow on it Easiest way to clear the large room without warbot is use grenade for marines and plasma for tanks and thor, slowly pushing through
Its so funny to watch a proplayer play this rpg/commando-style mission and just not click on things and take their time, because you are just so trimmed on other things.
For the next mission you have just 2 ways, get drop pods on barracks and send ghost for drop nuke on obj, or just build mass bc+ vessels, its lil bit long mission cuz you'll see why soon. Old bc cant shoot while move

Oh how the turntables have
Nahh that couldn’t be it, impossible
I laughed so much during the secret mission. Only Raynor the hero marine survived in the end
"Survived", after dying so many times 😅😂
I was facepalming so much when HM tries to push robot instead of literraly just controlling it 💀
It did look like he tried but the box select didn't pick it up.

You should not apologize for struggling and reloading, thats the most entertaining part :)

Thanks big Gabe!!!! Love these videos, specially you playing single player campaign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 videos a week, amazing!
Don't forget to check the research console, you get credits for extra research

This one is especially entertaining. XD
A surprise for sure, but a welcomed one.
this is the heromarine i love
Any plans on doing the original/brood war campaingns? It's a completely different game at this point, but it could be fun

Campaign tanks are busted because of the +40 damage upgrade to primary target from Hyperion armory
We just had to get you on the campaign to get Thors finally! Also, didn't know about the secret mission...
USE THE PLASMAGUN! 🤣🤣👍

The secret mission is more of a Clem mission than a HeroMarine mission iykwim
i would be sad if you, if you start streaming the next champaign. i subscribed because you started making champaign videos
So that must have been my 2010 Myself playing the Bonus Mission for the first Time on Brutal 🤔

56:42 Baby ultras.
53:46 Psycho killer, qu'est-ce que c'est? 😋😋

Please replay next time on nightmare (dificulity personalize for pro players)😅
yeah well single-player skill =/= multiplayer skill
HM is not a micro, he's a Macro player...

That was a little painful to watch
