40 minutes into this great interview and not a single profanity….no hateful comments…no bombastic or egotistical or bitter utterances….just genuine conversation. Brian Forsythe seems like a complete class act. Very refreshing. Wish him all the best.

I am a lifelong KIX fan and I LOVE this man!! ❤❤ Thank God he is alive (like, seriously)....kudos to him for owning up to his experiences and being an inspiration to others. He is an AMAZING player and has as much swag today as ever! He would always make swoon every time I saw the band live and of course that was 10-fold every time I met him 😸...he was always very kind and gracious.
Jason - my husband is also a Type 1 diabetic and I admire you for advocating awareness! ❤🤘

I loved Kix from the first time I heard them. Saw them in a little birthday party setting for their promoter at the time in '86 and they truly are an AWESOME live show band as well. Wrathchild (later had to add America to their name) and The Road Ducks opened for them. Time sure does fly by!! Glad to hear Brian's story and that he made it through the wringer and was able to come out the other side and feeling well! Wish I could have made it to their final show in MD.

One of the cool kids all the way out in Seattle tipped me off to these guys circa 1980. No radio play or shows, they were non-existent in Seattle, but one of the kids in the cool crowd played the first record for me. I became an instant fan and no one in the area that I played the record for could believe they were largely unknown.

Although I am a huge 80’s rock fan I had never heard of Kix until a friend showed me their music in around 2003. I literally spent a full year listening to Kix exclusively. I love this band and agree they didn’t get enough exposure back in the day. Their record company blew it!

Im from Baltimore and Kix and this guy my man Brian were so priceless to me what a great interview thank you so much. Im looking into Nashville as a move and it sounds like being a guitarist myself that many of my favorites are in Nashville now very vrery kool kids. Kix should have and deserved to be huge Kix and Hammerjacks were unbeatable as a combo. 🫶🫶👑👑🔥🔥🧨🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎵🎵🎼🎼📀💿📀💿

What an absolute superstar Bryan is! So humble, so honest and he looks like a true rocker of that Rolling Stones-generation. Remember first time hearing Kix, "Don't close your eyes" on Headbangers Ball and thinking it was a great tune. Bought "Blow my fuse" and was blown away...since then this band is one of my all time favourite bands. When "Hot wire" was released I read an album review in a swedish newspaper and the journalist wrote something in the style of: this is one of few bands who should have a "officially licensed to kick ass"-sticker on their albums.

Being from Central Pennsylvania Kix has always been huge in our area. I was very fortunate to see them many times back in the day - in addition they were Hammerjacks house band ( or so it seemed ) - fantastic interview - and they are still fantastic live (one reason to always go to M3)

Speaking of Poison. The reference of them not being very good musically but being great showmen reminds me of a interview I once saw with C.C. DeVille. It was a question about how people say he wasn't a great technical guitarist/musician. C.C.s response was "I never wanted to be a great musician, or a technical guitarist. I wanted to be a rockstar. That's what I became".. He didn't lie. Lol

I’ve been listening to KIX since their first record, they were my first rock show in 1985 and I’ve seen the countless times since and they never disappoint. I really hope Brian will in fact write his biography and the full story of his life in and out of KIX. Great stuff, thanks.

Kix last show tommorow. Very sad its over but what a run. Kix seems like a band that would be very hard to cover, especially Who sings, but it would be great at some point for a Kix tribute band and i would call the band Cool Kids, the music of Kix.

Their original ballad was “For Shame”. Great song! I’d never heard it before until they opened for Whitesnake at the Hampton Roads Coliseum, VA on February 17, 1990. The lighters came out , they sat down with acoustics and everyone was singing. Great band, and as they say, Steve could ‘choke a harp’!!!! The man had a bandolier of harps around his waist and ripped the roof off. Great band, hard won fans by putting in constant touring. Maybe if they relocated to L.A. they’d have been even bigger. Great interview Jason. If anyone wants to see them in their prime, check out the video on here of them at Hammerjacks.

I had had guys in the Hammerjacks t- shirts and bumper stickers out in California i would buy when i was on leave and home id buy for friends out there. I love Kix and Brian was one of my favs on guitar as was Ronnie too. Its to me a sin what never happened to get Kix huge. I really pushed them out in California though while in the Navy

KIX changed the scene in the DELMARVA area in the early 80s. First saw them at U of M on a weekday night in Spring of 1983, they blew the roof off the place. Stage show was spectacularly HUGE for a non-arena band. Thank you so much for covering the Poison rip-off thing, I moved to LA in 85 and it was so obvious by the color scheme, the choreographed stage moves, and the name that Poison stole much of KIX's shtick. And Brian is right, they were never that good in the early days, they just got a lot of chicks to their shows and blew up from there. I do admit that I like the first Poison album, though...cheesedick guitar tone and all. KNAC made that band. Hey Brian, if you ever read this, please tell me what ever became of that live song you guys did back in the day that had the choruses "Come on over, my dog won't bite ya". That wasn't the tune that Donnie & Steve had a falling out over, was it? That was a cool song! Edited to add: Jason, you are such a great interviewer, you always know the best stuff to ask about and you elicit such great info. LOVE THIS CHANNEL.
