Watch this interview for all this and much more.

    Chapters:
    00:13 Introduction
01:03 Give us your perspective on India's future for the next 'x' years. You decide on 'x'. Where are we likely to be?
05:57 What have been the biggest factors in your own success?
10:21 Have you had a role model?
12:00 What do you prefer - Stock or Mutual Fund?
13:03 We often hear and see data that suggests that many investors in Mutual Funds are unable to realise the returns that the funds themselves do. What is the reason?
15:15 When was your first Mutual Fund investment?
15:50 What percentage of investors are getting better? Is it 5% that have turned into SIP investors, long-term investors, or 30% or 70%?
17:07 What contributed to this change in investor behaviour?
21:32 How has social media impacted the investment world?
27:09 What do you have to say about this finfluencer phenomenon? Should it be regulated?
28:32 Has the investment management job become tougher than it was two decades ago?
30:45 When will you write the obituary of active management?
32:08 You have been a fixed-income person. How has the world there changed in the last 20 years?
35:14 Where do you stand on this people vs process scale for observing and predicting business success?
37:14 What message will you send to your younger self at this point?
39:21 Which part turned out to be very different from what you had expected?
42:15 Now that you have been in this business for close to 30 years, what difference do you find here?
45:15 You have held leadership positions in all three AMCs. What is the charm of these companies for prospective candidates?
47:31 There used to be an animal called a promoter who had skin in the business and owned the business. We still have a large number of Indian companies with promoters. Then we have a few professional companies -like HDFC Bank, L&T, ITC. Now, there is a third generation, a new generation of companies, which, to begin with, are start-ups, are publically funded, and the skin in the business game in the absence of promoters; how does it change the contours of looking at a business?
51:07 Today we come across a completely new regime where companies don't make money. They have been permitted to raise money. We have global examples too. They are sizable businesses. Millions of customers and millions of other people are involved. And they haven't seen profits at all. How do you see these?
55:17 The great privilege that fixed-income investors had in India disappeared two years ago. What is the point now? Why do we invest?
    57:33 Close

What a wonderful person Mr Nilesh Shah is.. even at such a high position, he is so humble, many people getting two promotions feels like they are CEO. Seems like two extremely down to earth person talking intellectually. Really good interview 👍

Ground realities are somthing different.. Vast numbers of Youngsters slogging for salaries as low as 10000 pm . Retrenchment is almost daily affair .

Fortunately I had opportunity to view Dhirendra's show on ETNOW "Investor Guide" in 2009. Now, it has become a ritual to view his weekly videos without fail. I can proudly say I could retire early from my working life by planning and sticking on to his pointers and by the grace of God.

Boss if you can’t get your fundamentals right you can’t do well ever. He had his fundamentals right and fundamentals do t change. So if you have better qualifications than him about money and flow of money , you may see it as a cassette. But remember , compounding is the oldest money making concept , everyone talks about that , do you think that’s allow a “ Cassette”.
    2+2 = 4 , not a cassette !!

He is playing same cassette of growing India at every platform.Experts like these aren't aware of ground reality of economy or they don't want to be criticized.
