This is one of the more recognizable courses on the tour I wish they had kept it an elite event. I really appreciate courses that have a strong theme to them aesthetically and with the actual structure of the holes.

Agreed. It might be my favorite course to play. I think the only reason it got downgraded is because of the lack of cell service/WiFi. They’ve been talking about how to do live coverage from there ever since the DGPT took over and it sounds like it would be too difficult or expensive. I never watch live coverage but that definitely seems to be a big focus for the DGPT. If they can’t charge people to watch live coverage they’re not interested.

Yep agreed! Every hole is recognizable.

Took the memorial off tour as well and it’s one of the more known and fun courses to watch the top pros play. Sad times

@@thelegendarye2430 the Memorial didn’t really do anything for me. A few fun holes but mostly just a lot of big hyzers in a pretty wide open grass park setting. Disc golf was created to play in the woods. I think the Memorial is a challenging course for a pro because of the distance involved but not necessarily really fun to watch as a spectator. DeLa on the other hand has 29 holes and every one of them is unique and challenging and so unpredictable it can even punish shots that are close to perfect. It forces players to use every shot they have and weave through trees and go up and down hills and have to avoid cliffs on the sides of the fairways. No matter which 18 holes they choose to play you never know what’s going to happen and you’re always going to see something you would never see on any other course. I hate to say it but the DGPT has made the sport less accessible. Especially to people that have never heard of disc golf. When they took over they said they wanted to grow the sport but I think they’re hurting the growth of the sport more than they’re helping it. Growing the sport should mean introducing it to new people. Not just making as much money as you can off the people that already play. I wish they would do what most TH-cam channels do and make their money off of ad revenue by getting the most views possible instead of hiding it behind a pay wall and only posting highlight videos hoping people will pay them to see the actual coverage.

@@craigcampbell1843 100 percent agree. They’re killing the growth of the sport, when it has done nothing but rise and rise. Paying to watch the majors and big events just makes it where less people end up seeing it and will end up hurting the sport in the long run. Not getting the usdgc last year sucked. Oh well. Bowling did the same thing with a website you pay for and their views and fans have shrunk vastly

What a great card. Not often you see KJ on a card as the shortest arm. Thanks for posting!

Nice to see Big Jerm out there competing. So rare. Most of the time we just get to "hear him speaking" while doing commentary on other players. His hilarious TH-cam content with Gilstrap TV must keep him really busy. Go Jerm!!!
