- Aliwan Fiesta -- dubbed as the Philippines' festival of champions -- takes to the streets anew on April 14-16. Presented by Manila Broadcasting Company, Star City, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay, the annual cultural extravaganza brings together in a single setting champion streetdance contingents from all over the archipelago, vying for the million-peso grand prize in the festival dance competition.
Aliwan Fiesta is now on its eighth year, with the grand culminating parade on April 16 kicking off at the Quirino grandstand, and moving towards an outdoor stage in front of the Aliw Theater at the CCP Complex, where the awarding ceremonies will be held

Kapag sinabing aliwan champion, 2011 & 2012 talaga standard ko. 👏👏👏 3rd ko Ang 2013 then 2016 the best visual effects sakin. So far Wala nang mas malakas pa sa mga performance na ito.

Simula 2016 up to now parang medyo "meh" na mga concepts nagmumukhang Kasadyahan na.. and mas prefer ko musicality noon.

Dinagyang never imitate other festival’s moves. Sila lang yong ginagaya and that is the fact.
Original po ang steps ng dinagyang even po ang drum beats po ay yung mga tribu mismo nagko compose.nauna ang dinagyang sa pagamit ng mga props , risers, backdrops, change costumes, at yung pagkkaroon ng storyline sa performance.yung Ibang choreographer nga ng dinagyang ay kinukuha ng Ibang festival para mag choreograph sa kanila or mag workshop sa knila.. infact nangyari tlaga to na Ang dalawang tribu na kino choreograph ng Isang dinagyang choreographer ay nagkatapat sa aliwan

@@vincebelonio2050 yup.! Iisa lng ung trainor nla. Kaso almost two months lng preparation ng dinagyang kase late na binigyan ng budget kaya medyo disappointed ung performance.
Why this reminds me of Moana?
The region of the philippines where this festival came from had a very similar culture with our pacific islander brothers, one factor is that this is from an island province where formerly tribes governed the area
