    ATG/Godox is making the first batch to Adorama.
    Flashpoint XPlor600Pro TTL. Works better with Flashpoint R2 Pro transmitter.
    This is going to hurt Profoto B1, Phottix Indra500, Interfit S1 & Rotolight Neo2.

  • @AMaverickBrother
    @AMaverickBrother 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The TTL doesn't use "whatever metering mode you're in" unfortunately. It pretty much always uses matrix metering for the light no matter what mode you're in. The Nikon lights will react to the metering mode you use but not the godox stuff unfortunately.

    Hey man great video. Great info without too much blah blah blah. Quick question though... I noticed the transmitter has a hot shoe on top. While doing event photography is it possible to set up the xplor 600 in a corner to take pics of guests as they arrive while having a flash on top of the receiver to cover the candid moments throughout the event? Of course I'll be turning on or off the flash or the receiver accordingly depending on whether I need to use the flash or the strobe assuring that I'm not firing off both at the same time unnecessarily. Hopefully I did not confuse you with this long complicated question. Thanks in advance.

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      WOW thanks for the super fast reply. I just re-read my long question and I noticed that I said put a flash on top of the receiver I meant to say on top of the transmitter. But you knew what I meant anyways LOL!👍👍Thanks again.

  • @bykatkingsley

    Thanks for posting this video! One question: are you able to control the modeling light on the transmitter? I hate having to press the button on my strobe each time, and sometimes the strobe is out of reach for the shot I want. TIA!

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Kat! To be honest I almost always keep the modeling light on but I am 95% certain you CAN turn on and off the modeling light from the transmitter atop the camera.

  • @blushingcrowstudio

    Have you used the TTL? Is it worth the extra 💸? I’ve always shot manually with strobes but could see the value for wedding receptions and other times where lighting isn’t always consistent? Thoughts?

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are good videos explaining the purpose of TTL but to put it simply the TTL version calculates how much power you need and then you can make small adjustments from there so the purpose of it for me is to save time. I set the flash to TTL, and usually within 3-4 test shots it’s perfect. Also as the lighting changes the flash adjusts automatically

    Hello there as I was watching the beginning of your video I noticed you said that you can’t broke the sync of most speedlites as the only go up to 1/250th of a second but that isn’t true because I’ve done HSS with both my Nikon sb910 and sb-800 speedlites using my Nikon D3S D500 and D7100 cameras with the Pocket Wizard mini TT1 and flex TT5 and I had absolutely no problems shooting at 1/8000 of a second I seriously wish I could share those amazing photos with you

      Rachael Nichols on go into the camera’s menu set your shutter speed to the highest one they have and then put your flash on to of your camera’s hotshoe and when you turn both the flash and the camera on your flash should say on the display TTL FP even if your using the pocketwizard system mini TT1 and flex TT5

    • @rachaelnichols9573
      @rachaelnichols9573 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have done that. If I put my flash directly on my camera I can get my shutter up to 1/8000 of a second, with no banding. When I put my mini tt1 on my camera and put my flash on my tt5 for off camera I still can go all the way up to 1/8000 but with banding/black lines. It does show TTL/FP like it should but it does not work. I have 3 SB800's and they all do the same thing. Hmmm.

    1) Hi, i read some comments saying the color accuracy is not as good as profoto, which is understandable with the huge price difference.
    However in real world usage (not for commercial product photography) how bad is the color accuracy?
    2) I bought the ttl version of xplor 600 on sale for $549. But now there is a Newer xplor 600pro with color accuracy of +-75 and 0.9sec recycle time (abeit lower battery life) that costs 899. Do you think the new one is worth $349 extra? Thank you all in advance for your input/opinion.

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thanks for watching!
      1) I️ blend multiple images together for compositors and haven’t had any noticeable issues with color accuracy. Haven’t even thought about it until your comment. Color accuracy is more than acceptable I’d say.
      2) I️ don’t think the new one is worth the extra unless you shoot a lot of continuous stuff where you need even faster recycling. If/when I️ do get a second one it will be this same version if it’s still available at $549.
      Hope you subscribe!

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Steven, TTL mode means the light automatically sets the power for you based on how much light the camera sees “Through The Lens (TTL)” on the non-TTL you always have to set the power yourself. TTL is really good for quick situations and you can always adjust from there so I recommend the TTL version. If you purchase please use the link in the video description! Thanks for watching. • @jentiffany10
      @jentiffany10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ASpecphotography It depends on what and how you shoot. If you shoot in studio, you'll be able to set it manually and not have to change a thing from then on. If you shoot on location, walking around a park for instance, your lighting will constantly change. You can either have to adjust your light every time you move, or have TTL to do that for you. Can you get by without it? Absolutely. But it does make life easier. Again, it depends on what you shoot the most and where.

    To get HSS to work you must go into your settings menu of your camera, if you have a Nikon go into custom setting menu and under bracketing and flash and then under Flash sync speed menu, you will see different flash speeds with the highest sync speed being 1/200s or 1/250s.
    Above those two speeds you should see 1/250s Auto FP or 1/320 s (Auto FP), select either Auto FP 250 or 320 (You are telling your camera to tell the flash to go above either 250 or 320 sync speed camera depended) what ever your highest Auto FP speed is and select okay and now when you use your Nikon Sb700, Sb800, Sb900 or 910 and crank your shutter speed (test this at F2.8 outside on sunny day and pow, you will be able to go way above 250 or 320.
    I shot outside in the sun at 2000 and 4000 of a second at f2.8 at iso 100 on Nikon D750 and the photos turned out great. This isn’t a feature normally talked about.
