Thanks to covid, it’s been a year since some of us have been able to go home or see family. Hopefully things get better here soon, but at the end of the day it’s part of what we do. They were never religious, even before nightmare. They wrote the lyrics based around what fit the song, and in the song which is from a soliders point of view, he’s praying. They didn’t loose faith after Jimmy died, they’ve never been religious. That said, I’m happy you finally reacted to this one, it’s one of my favorites from them and I knew you’d dig it
I think they might be a bit more religious than most people give them credit for or even what they'd admit themselves. They strike me as people that grew up with it and while it nevere really spoke to them they still probably base a lot of their own personal morals and stuff based on the lessons they learned growing up with religion. Could be wrong of course but that would be my totally unprofessional psychoanalysis of some of their lyrics and the way they mention God thoughout their discography

I actually tried to join the army 5 years ago cuz I wanted to do something good with my life and for others, sadly they denied my request because I have a small problem with my leg and I have ADHD but don’t take medicine...? 😂 I know, ridiculous but I live in Sweden so guess there’s different rules over here! I didn’t hear you mention Danger Line. If you haven’t reacted to it, you should. It deals with a soldier in the heat of battle who gets shot and knows he is going to die. The last part deals with his thoughts on that subject. With your perspective on life, I think you’ll like the ending.
I love AX7’s take on the military. I know some disagree with war in all cases. I feel we should avoid it as much as possible, but there are times when you will deal with people or countries who will put you in a kill or be killed situation. Then, you have no choice. Still, I know there are people who will disagree. There are even some who will berate someone who has a different conviction. Well, this doesn’t go for all soldiers, but there are many who are willing to die for the people who criticize them, who even hate them. Some of these people are willing to sacrifice their lives for these people to have the right to hate them and protest against them. Well, you don’t have to change your mind on war, but I do think the kind of sacrificial attitude I just mentioned should command your respect. So have your own opinion, you have that right, but know there are people who are willing to die for your right to protest against their fighting for your rights. Protest the cause, but not the individual. They deserve your respect, if not our love.
I miss seeing all of my buddies that moved on to new duty stations or got out more than the service itself. You definitely never get people like that in your life again
