My wife and I are loving these videos Greg, we’ve watched 1 & 2 and are now tempted to change our route, we are travelling down from Cherbourg on the 1st of May for 60 days, we were going to head down to Spain and then come up through Portugal, but we are now thinking of changing the route and coming down the N2 and follow your route….. you have given us loads of inspiration, thank you 👏👏
I am staggered by how beautifully kept all these towns and places of interest are kept. The Portuguese authorities and people should be commended for the provision they make for visitors. You have definitely inspired me to take a trip down the N2 and to enjoy everything I can of Central Portugal. You have inspired us yet again Greg and Lou, Just brilliant, Thank you.
I’m the last two years there has been a huge investment in services for motorhomes and camper vans. You’ll see through this series we stay on some fantastic municipal e Aires. Takes all the stress out of travelling knowing you have safe places to stay with first class services. Just brilliant. 👍🏼😊
I know it’s a silly thing but it does make the trip and so many places have embraced it and you can even get a stamp from local fire station police or library too.
@@GregVirgoe That's cool! I found on Amazon similar for the parks in the USA. It's a nice way to create souvenirs. 😁 I'm enjoying your trip so far, thank you!
Great video Greg, and a really good idea for a 'themed' trip! Everywhere so far looks particularly well kept, especially when compared to the areas along the Algarve that we've just come from, so you've renewed our interest in Portugal as a future destination. Enjoyed the commentary but we did have to ask ourselves how many of the 'younger' generation would know what a brass rubbing is, sadly we do know, and we've done them!
Sadly maybe not many. We do particularly love Portugal and have always had a great time here so it feels easy to promote such a wonderful place. We do prefer the northern part more historic and cultural. The Algarve is like a holiday resort for ex pats 😊
How nice to come along on your super N2 Tour especially on this cold and damp November evening. Making notes and planning a visit in the future. Thank you
Great vlog 👍 lovely grand building and that campsite was canny great to see rui and Maria again after all this time even though it was on TV and not I person 😀 think you started a new route off m8y there be alot of vanlifers wanting to do the N2 now if they haven't already xxx
What an awesome route looks amazing ,and great music choice and editing Greg love the tropical house style vibe on the driving bits ,works great in the sunny views .
Thanks so much! I spend a lot of time trying to get the right piece of music to set the scene and give a particular feel to what you are watching so it really makes my day when you notice that. Hope you enjoy the rest of this trip too :D
What a brilliant video Greg. Loved every minute. Palace is breathtaking and the campsite is amazing too. Give our love to Lou and we look forward to seeing you both in December xx
Yet again we managed to find some cracking places to visit on this trip and the passport gave us places to visit and more purpose so it’s been good. Soon be back in Blighty. See you soon xx
Thanks for bringing us along Greg, think this will be our first choice when we hit Portugal next year followed by a return trip to the north along the coast.
@@GregVirgoethanks, judging by the number of tags I am now putting on Google maps after watching just you first video we will be lucky to complete the trip in 90 days!!
Very interesting and informative, I was surprised to see how low the water level in the lake was even this late in the year, looking forward to next instalment👍
Grea video Greg Lou ,fantastic weather and site , very tempted already to visit the area, the lake looked very low with water , looking forward to the next stage
Good start to your series and the brass rubbing reminded me of the old style coins I did on paper before I spent them when I was a kid. Iron in the water? Keep away from magnet factories 🤣
Hi both, fantastic mini series about the N2. We're planning something similar shortly but have heard some horror stories about the very complicated Toll system. Was this an issue during your journey? P.s... Really looking forward to your budget build series.
Hi Greg and Lou yet again another fantastic video 👏 lovely campsite, I'm struggling to see my Google maps so many pins on it of places to see and stay. I came across the N2 while looking for NC500 alternatives. Looking forward to the next instalment. 😀
It’s surprising how many have not heard of it. I’m guessing because of the 75yr anniversary loads of places along the route have got involved and the N2 tourist kiosks are a wealth of information. Really good trip. 😊👍🏼
@@GregVirgoe is it a road suitable for us in our almost 8m motorhome? just before we commit to trying it in a couple of weeks? We are looking at going that way enroute to Southern Spain 👍😍
@@TheBabblingBrookes yes absolutely no problem. Our van is 7m and today we passed a huge Morello A class motorhome on the same route. The roads very good all the way down 👍🏼😊
We visited Alcacer do Sal on a previous trip and as it’s a little way off the N2 we didn’t visit again. But will put in a little cameo vid from previous trip 👍🏼😊 it’s a very pretty town.
Hi Greg, just wondering what stickers you have on the van. Do you have the angles mort French ones and do you need any of the emission ones? Trying to plan what we need to go to Portugal next year.
Oh yes we loved Gois with the river bridge and water mill very beautiful small village. Sadly we are only 100km from Faro now. We have to travel and film and edit so always a little behind when they air 😊☺️
Ah ok, it would have been nice to meet you both but we're now heading into Spain 🇪🇸. Enjoy the rest of your trip and we'll look forward to seeing the rest of your adventures 😊 Safe travels 😊 Oh and a bit of a heads up, we tried a few place along the coast but all completely full then we came to the Municipal Camping site on the Island. Plenty of room and right by the sea. Hope this helps.

What a great idea to follow this N2 route through history and culture. Many thanks for taking us along. Another one for our 'To-Do' list

Thanks for sharing Greg. Great route for the motorbike!

Like you say a nice alternative from the coastal route 😀👍🏼
We’ve always stuck to the coast before but the interior has so much to offer in scenery and history 👍🏼😊

Fabulous start to your trip Greg. I have been to Portugal many times but never heard of this route. Guess what I’ll be doing next year?
Neither had we but I can honestly say it’s been a great way to see Portugal and the interior countryside is very beautiful.

The N2 souvenir shop next to the kilometre zero bar is now closed so you’ll need to get your passport from the Tourist Information Office.
You can get your passport from the zero kilometre bar. That’s where we got ours from 😃👍🏼

Nice and on a blind bend
There is always someone wanting to overtake no matter how fast you drive lol
Hi Greg, just wondering what stickers you have on the van. Do you have the angles mort French ones and do you need any of the emission ones? Trying to plan what we need to go to Portugal next year.
No neither of those on our van. Even took the GB one off the back too. Just have the UK number plate and an LPG sticker on the back. 😊
Are you happy with the exterior window cover? Just received my ‘just 1/2 hr” shirt for my projects!
It’s a vast improvement on the internal ones. Much better in sunny weather and no condensation in the cold weather. Well worth it 👍🏼
@@GregVirgoethank you.

Mostly done by motorcycle groups but still a great trip for a Campervan. 👍🏼😊
