    Good vid.
One thing to note about IJN destroyers hunting USN subs, is that their passive sonar is better than their American counterparts, whilst their active sonar is worse.
It can be beneficial to bring an IJN destroyer to a complete stop now and then to listen for a few moments and then carry on a sweep, you'd be surprised how far you can pick up a sub - especially in calmer waters.

Thanks for the information. Is that just in gave or were the IJN passive sonars in WW2 also good? I do commonly place one destroyer at zero to 5 kts on the US side to the same effect.

@@saxon225 I _believe_ it is somewhat historically accurate. they had good hydrophones but comparatively poor electronics for the period

Thank you, my friend! I could not figure out how to find the enemy subs until I saw this video.

Thank you for the comment, luckily the game AI is logical with its physics and that makes this method work. Happy to help! I hope the enemy subs are less of a problem for you now?

Thanks, I'm glad you like this. It's a fun game I should play more. It very much reminds me of Harpoon for WW2.

Destroyers must increase their speed when dropping depth charges. At that moment, contact is lost and the submarine has a window in which it can change depth and course or even escape. Therefore:
If more than one destroyer is chasing the submarine, the best tactic is to attack with only one destroyer. One destroyer maintains contact with the submarine (speed of the destroyer is identical to the speed of the submarine) while the other destroyer carries out the attacks. This way there is no break in contact.

lol yea there are a few steps involved I grant you. But there is a lot more I could go into like the thermocline and depth the sub is at. You can also do manual control for depth charging. There is more. But I did try and keep it simple.
