Having tried various methods for the last four hours, yours is the only one that worked. The key is connecting to the PC using a USB cable before you start. Until I did that the device just rebooted without displaying the recovery menu. Thank you very much, you're a life saver!
Thanks so much, this worked when I connected the USB to pc. It took a few tries of downvolume and power then up volume and power to get to that system menu then I just chose a factory reset. Then chose system reboot. You must have the Google account and password you originally used though for later when it boots up.
Question; I did a factory reset on my wife's note 10+ yesterday after doing a Google backup. When I got it back up and thought it was restored, not all of the data came back. In fact, some critical data in a Notes program is missing. I look in the backup part of "Accounts and Backup" and I have no Restore option. If I look at Account Storage, it shows my backup that I did yesterday before the factory reset. But I don't see any way to access it. I guess what I'd like to do is re-restore it to see if that data comes up. How can I do that? Do I need to do a complete factory reset again? I'd really rather not have to do that.

Primero apaguen el celular, para esto van a conectar el celular a cargar y van a presionar boton Vol - y power 10 segundos y el celular se apagar y aparecera el rayo de carga. Despues entren a modo download, conecten el celular a una PC mientras presionan los botones abajo y arriba (el cel debe estar apagado). Presionen Vol+ para entrar a modo download. En este punto con el cel aun conectado a la PC, reinicien con Vol- y Power, cuando inice suelten power pero no suelten Vol+. Esto me funciono despues de ver muchos videos, espero les sirva.
