I tried buying a use camera from MPB. I've always found their rating system wildly confusing. This is what I ended up with after my original order was cancelled 😭

MPB's rating system makes a lot of sense in the real world.

I just got ripped off by mpb for my used camera which they claim was not in th box. I could not enter the information into their system to begin the investigation. They wanted a photo of my license, a 3d scan of my face, photos of bank statements for proof of address which the system rejected. After filing my own claim with fed ex I got shorted a 3rd of the trade in value. Now they are taking more of my time to get on here and maybe save someone from sending an 8000 dollar lens in and having similar issues. I DID buy a used camera and lens from them prior to this with no problems and a second lens a little later but as soon as I tried to sell back something thats when the trouble began

The mpb rating system is clearly layed out and well explained. I'm not understanding why you are confused?

He's confused because his "good condition" camera came in excellent condition, so that would mean the excellent condition would be pristine!

I am wondering how Excellent rating worked out? I am waiting for my new-used Canon M6 mark ii and I am getting nervous.
That's great if this could work out globally and we could save a little piece of the world by NOT generating more of electro waste!

I've ordered several times and yes MPB is recommended . And you have 14 days to send it back if you don't like what you see - and if you request it they'll send Fedex right to your door to pick it up no charge . KEH has a better reputation ( deservedly ) but I've had no complaints so far and like I said the 14 day no questions asked return policy has you covered if you're disappointed . I just got a brand new in the box never been used Canon 70D for 349 USD and I was elated with that .

I had a bad experience with them, i sold my camera and they asked for my bank details, after giving it to them they returned my camera back to me. Now my bank details are compromised. BEWARE GUYS SCAMMERS!

After sending my gear to them they dropped their offer (with no explanation) over $300. I told them to send my gear back and they claimed they tossed out my original Sony box. Then I noticed that my owner's manual for my camera was missing. They claimed they tossed that out as well. Anyone believe they threw an original manual away?

Coincidentally, I just ordered a 7:51 used Nikon D7000 from the same company. This one was rated Excellent. Will let you know how that turns out; if rating is justified.
