WHAT IS TRANEXAMIC ACID?Ah, ANOTHER acid. Like we don’t already have enough of these. But this one’s a little different. Tranexamic acid or TXA for short is a synthetically derived active from lysine, which is an amino acid. TXA can be used topically, intradermally and/or orally, and oral TXA prescriptions have been used for years to stop excessive blood clots, bleeding and menorrhagia, which is when one has heavy menstrual flows. In the past decade or so, dermatologists, specifically in the south Asian region, have been using TXA intradermally to treat melasma. WHAT IS ALPHA ARBUTIN?Alpha arbutin is a natural derivative of hydroquinone, and is popularly used for brightening, skin lightening and fading dark spots. It can be found in antioxidant rich berries such as bearberry, blueberry & cranberry. HOW TO USETranexamic AcidA lot of actives in skincare work much better in conjunction with another active or acid, such as the all-star pairing of niacinamide with retinol. TXA, given how gentle it is, is definitely not enough by itself, says Dr. Kristina Goldenberg of Goldenberg Dermatology. She recommends combining it with retinol, a chemical peel, Vitamin C or kojic acid for full-power brightening. Alpha ArbutinAlpha arbutin works well on its own and gets even more powerful in conjunction with other brightening actives such as Vitamin C. A lot of skin brightening creams already have a safe percentage of the active present in them. However, sensitive skin types might develop some irritation at first, so it's best to patch test irrespective. Like with literally any other skincare product, especially so if its an active, patch-testing and patience are of utmost importance. Trying out a small patch on the inner wrist for 24 hours can give those with ultra-sensitive skin a better idea of what works for them.More on Lysine: www.byrdie.com...

      Thank you Sonal.
Yes stinging will happen as the skin is peeling or drying...try a gentler face wash or space our the retin a. we want to have as little stinging and redness as possible as irritated skin also pigments ...pigmentation is also the skins own mechanizm to protect itself...so it becomes an endless cycle.
      sending you love ❤️

I had absolutely clear face a month back.
I had acne problem till last year.. all the marks were gone in the last 1year.
But suddenly I started to breakout last month... I use Vit c + alpha arbutin from minimalist + simple moisturizer+ sunscreen in the morning. Sometimes top it with Minimalist squalane
For PM- Salicylic acid 2% from minimalist + simple moisturizer to heal the active acne every alternate night
Or Plum green tea gel moisturizer ( glycolic acid) with plum buckthorn oil on the other nights
And dr.sheths gentle peel solution twice a week.( Nights am not using anything else)
Still I see small bumps coming up on my cheeks every other day.. I have a new breakout or painful acne which is again leaving back a lot of marks n pigmentation.
Nothing is helping !! Plz suggest what should I do.

As my skin is aging it is becoming little dry though earlier it was oily with no pigmentation at all. I have earlier used retenoid few years back and it goes very well with my skin. Now, after watching your videos I want to start my skin care routine. Please advise is it okay if I use retenoid & Demelan cream(it has Glycolic acid, Alpha Arbutin & kojic acid) on alternate days in pm routine and vitamin C and Niancinamide in a.m routine. Also advise do I need to start Tranexamic acid in my pm routine or it is not required.

just stick to retinoid. and vitc + Nia -AM and PM on days you are not using retinoid.
Tran is only for pigmentation so clearly you dont need it.
