Doesn’t sound real at all, but I quit at the “we’re all trying” part. That’s just not for me. When people show me who they really are, I believe them. Too late is too late. Moving on. How they acted before is how they actually feel. How they always felt. If I had my choice between no relationship and a fake one like he is getting now-hard pass. No thanks. I will make my own chosen family of people that I can trust that really LOVE me, not just as some sort of sick extension of themselves that must be perfect while also being totally unloved and neglected.
