About 3 years ago I bought a Pat’s Hitch for my 1979 Ford 340 Industrial Tractor. It had certainly improved my attachment changing experiences!!! Tim in northern TN
I've had these on my tractor for 3 years and I love them! I ordered a 4 inch PTO shaft extension and everything fits perfectly. Definitely recommend these.
I just bought this a couple weeks ago. Have yet to install due to being on a little RV road trip. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks for the video. Oh and I built a hoop house for the hens with your plans and it worked out splendidly! Gonna due a greenhouse next. Regards
It’s a great hitch system bought it this summer easy to install works great I would say because of cost it’s almost as good as a delta hook if money isn’t a concern the delta hook is far superior but is very expensive
In addition to the possibility of needing a longer top link, your PTO shaft of a PTO driven implement may end up being too short since the implement now sits 4" further behind the 3-point hitch. As "skippers" mentions below, an extension to the tractor PTO shaft is easily installed. I needed both of these alterations, and am very happy with the Pat's system.
I have mowed in some pretty hairy situations since installing the pats. I didn’t have a problem, so maybe I don’t need an extension. But I AM keeping an eye on it just in case. Thanks for the comment.
brings back memories! As long as when you drop it off with a log or timber, under it, so the next to you back to it, it lines up! Usually you can muscle/shake the implement in place. pound it in with a sledge. That's interesting though! PatsEasychange.
Yeah that's right that's what I do I've got some 6-inch steel well casing pipe that I parked my bush hogs on it doesn't take nearly as much effort to slide them where you want them to go I also keep a piece of 1 1/2" x6' thick wall galvanized well pipe as a pry bar handy to help Jimmy them into place some of my implements like box blades I Park on 2"schedule 80 PVC pipe and things like my auger I hang from a tree with a rope winch attached to a long implement spring to get more flexibility it's a lot easier than trying to pick them up off the ground it's really tough to hook those things up by yourself sometimes without a cheat
It looks like the Pat's system would be a lot more compatible than like a fram style QH with the tillers and especially a stump grinder where it has to articulate wide from side to side .. no drive shaft interference with the hitch itself
I've had Pat's on my old Ford 641 for over a year. I am not that impressed. You have to back up near perfectly square and the implement has to be near level. The spacing has to also be near perfect. If you pull the handle and only one side engages you end up in a messy situation. You still have to get off the tractor and hook up the top link if you manage to get the lower arms on target but more often than not I am kicking and prying to get the Pat's lined up and engaged. (I like those nice extending lower link arms on the tractor in this video)
Understood. You still got to be fairly close before you raise up your lift arms, but so far it beats not having them. And yes… Those telescoping arms are worth whatever it costs as an upgrade. I bought my tractor used and they were already installed from the factory.

Great to hear!
Another great video, I know exactly what you are talking about hitching up implements on my tractor.
Glad to help

I haven’t seen the Delta Hook. But, I do like my Pats.

You got that right!
Sometimes you have to have a mechanical advantage 😀
It looks like the Pat's system would be a lot more compatible than like a fram style QH with the tillers and especially a stump grinder where it has to articulate wide from side to side .. no drive shaft interference with the hitch itself
Absolutely. That was one of my main concerns too. I think this is going to work out just fine 😊
