Wait. Who else remembers in book 10 ( Darkness of Dragons ) when Qibli walked in on winter sitting on his sleeping ledge and drawing. When Winter sees Qibli he quickly shoves it away, but not before Qibli sees that the image he's drawn is Black..... and a little bit silver. Ladies and Gents, this is the moment my heart melted and I sat on the floor in a puddle and cried. He loves her so much and it broke my heart to see that he had to satisfy himself by drawing Moon because he was really horrible to her in Possibility and they can't have a normal conversation for 5 seconds without turning it into a screaming match. AND QIBLI SAW IT TOO
Winter is my favorite character from the series because how similar I am to him. We're both arrogant, have short tempers, say things before thinking it might be hurtful to others, and want to be nice guys deep down but have difficulty in expressing it. He's essentially a tsundere, and boy do I love tsundere characters.
3:22 this is my favorite part of the animatic! Winter realizes that Qibli is the one Moon loves and, though it devastates him, he doesn't try to confront them and win her back over; he recognizes that Moon is happier with Qibli, and so he lets her go. It's a side of Winterwatcher I don't think gets enough representation, that the purest show of love is doing what's best for your partner, and in this case it's Winter admitting that Qibli is the better one for Moon.
I'm a Moonbli shipper but even if this video doesn't go in that direction I know I'll still love the video Edit: it turned out exactly how I wanted it to :D

Also, I agree that it would be unhealthy on both ends, just asking for ur reasons bc as I said before, some people have really bad reasons as to why. I prefer Qinter over all the ships, but Moonbli, IMO, is okay. Not bad, but not particularly great, personally. But honestly, if you ship Winterwatcher or Moonbli, frankly, Idc, we all have our opinions
Qinter is becoming the most popular ship because shipping either with moon just leads to heartbreak for the other one and a fandom fight between the shippers.

Oh gosh. This is so beautiful. Hits close to home.😭🥺 I love these animatics because they let you see a different side of the characters that is not directly portrayed in the books. It’s not quite canon, but each time you include a character in something like this, it completes them a little more.

you know what makes me real sad? the possibility that moon could've thought winter was ONLY talking about qibli in "if i could tell her," especially that qibli mentions the same things in this song even though i support moonbli (and, admittedly, like it more than winterwatcher) + its canon, book 7 and these videos really make me feel for winter a bit more. he was already a disappointment to his family, and heartbreak definitely doesn't help with that (we've seen that before 😰) thank goodness he's not an animus!

Like - am I the only one who thinks the chemistry betw Moon and Winter was built up much more convincingly than Qibli and Moon? If there ever was a dragon who Qibli had a crush on, I would've assumed that was Winter, especially since it's been confirmed that gay dragons are a thing. Maybe I'm just a dummy who remembers too little of book 10, but the concept of Qibli having a major crush on Moon just kinda felt like it was thrown in there and not sufficiently hinted at in the previous books, unlike the obvious crush that BOTH Moon and Winter had on each other from the literal start of the second arc.
Don't remember Moon having a crush on Winter - I still ship it tho - Kinkajou was the one thinking Winter was pretty, I think. I agree about the Qibli crush being thrown in too

When I first read the series when I was younger, I couldn’t understand for the life of me why Moon didn’t pick Winter. I mean, it was so blatantly clear that Winter was in love with Moon in Winter Turning. I mean, he thought it all the time, right? But that’s just it, he only thought of his affection for Moon, but rarely did he ever say it. Rather, most of the spoken interactions he had with her were confrontational and hostile. Winter was at war with himself, trying to understand why he was in love with a dragon from a tribe he was sworn to hate. Unfortunately, it was Moon’s feelings that got caught in the crossfire. Perhaps the best example of this is when he berates and cruelly dismisses her in Possibility, even after everything she’d done for him. Moon, of course, was hurt and confused, but never could she bring herself to hate him. Rather, she took whatever feelings she had for him and buried them, accepting the fact that Winter hated her, or at the very least couldn’t give her the kind of love she wanted and deserved. Instead, she turned to Qibli, the dragon who had treated her with warmth, understanding, and kindness since the very first book. Winter saw this, and instead of pulling an Ashfur and trying to manipulate her into a relationship with him, he acknowledged all the ways he went wrong and let Moon go with a heavy, yet understanding heart. And yes, although the triangle was solved a bit too fast for my liking, Moon made the right choice. She stills loves Winter, but as a friend whom she wishes very best. Personally, I think Moon was Winter’s wake up call, the one who inspired him to follow his own dreams and realize that he was more than a name in a circle. So, although they may never be lovers, Winter and Moon will always be soulmates in friendship.

Personally, I think Moon was Winter’s wake up call, the one who inspired him to follow his own dreams and realize that he was more than a name in a circle.
