- "the metaphorical elephant" is a series of films by David Ridgen about activism, humans, and other animals. Filmed in Thailand and Canada with Sangduen "Lek" Chailert, Darrick Thomson, and a cast of hundreds.
Episode, "love bigger than fear" looks at one facet of Lek's philosophy of action.
Episodes may be viewed in any order.

In my eyes in my soul she represents a celebrity not the ones in Hollywood, or the movie stars. she is a celebrity she takes care or better wording she gives REAL AND PURE LOVE TO MOTHER NATURE. all those animals just feel her energy, her love her care. I wish I can meet her in person and have the funds to help her sanctuary. God give her health and Happiness for her continues works that never ends. sending you much love🥰🇨🇦🇻🇪
She’s actually making a difference in the NATURAL world, the only world that’ll exist when we take away all these constructs. She’s a true hero a true celebrity. We need more of her 😭

I'd only seen her elephant videos, I didn't realize she put efforts into rehabilitation of creatures of all shapes and sizes. A true angel on this earth.
I also like how at the end you can see she is definitely the matriarch of that herd and they love her like a mother =)
I still remembered when she first started out in rescuing the abused, sick and injured elephants, Lek faced lotsa of challenges and threats from all around, how hard it was for her to even get a pass from some authority to her piece of land space, but she fought on, and she fought extremely hard and goes on with that minimal capability, ability and financially, but still she fought on and on and on, never once she gave up for the sake of wanting to rescue the elephants. Until more and more animal lovers/activists of different countries known about her rescue works, more and more supports pouring in, this helps in assisting Lek able to do even more and expand her rescue widthband.
Thank you Lek for your persistency, your great love for the big and small animals who badly needed to be rescued, thanks to all the kind supporters who stepped in to help in any ways.
God bless you all and the animals as well. They are the beautiful creations from God to beautify our earth, for humans to see and learn the love and kindness in an animal.

Lek is so inspiring! She travels all over, speaks to world leaders about protecting animals and the environment, and then she does the hard work, chopping up the plants and kneeling in the dirt to take care of her dear friends. She and Darrick (the singing guy) are an amazing couple.

Thats why we should see all people only as a human. I believe every one has a talent, if we are lucky enough we can find our talent and bring the human kind a gift. If our talent has to do with animals, love and friendship will be on our way the whole time!

I noticed how those huge elephants made certain that they didn't accidentally step on her while doing a slow ballet around her as she sat there unconcerned,. That's trust. That's love.

Give this a thought... The love that lives in the heart of this tiny Thai woman, has not only given life and hope and joy and meaning back to many beings who are a hundred times bigger than she is, let alone from an entirely different species. It has also spread across the planet via the internet and is moving the hearts of us who are watching. It also set other people in motion, people who came from other countries even, offering to help and donate money to build the centre.
That is the result of one woman's love and dedication.
