Ive had mine for a while now, got it significantly early and it’s a great EDC knife. It’s a fun little knife and great for its price point with very unique milling. It really piqued the interest of some of my non-knife friends because of its look. Which is always a great thing. One of those same friends were super intimidated by my Arius, after seeing how much of a guillotine it was, and said my Roosevelt felt “cheap” because it is so light. But when I showed him the Mysto, he loved it. Especially because your finger is out of the blades path when you close it. I take the Mysto when I’m doing some seriously dirty work as an HVAC technician, jobs where I don’t want to risk something like my F3 Aquatic, Rosie etc and the Mysto has really shined. I’ve cut so many zip ties with it, used it to puncture some thin 20 gauge sheet metal even. And it is still going strong on the factory edge. Yeah, it’s taken a little damage, but it still works great. I’m planning to run the factory edge into the ground before I sharpen it. Just to see what it can do. I really think, clip screws aside, that the Mysto punches above its actual price point. The springs on mine also sounded a bit crunchy the first couple days I had it, but it went away eventually. Sorry for the ridiculously long comment, but I just had to share how awesome this knife has been.
Really late but I would recommend it in Magnacut. You can find some in Magnacut and G10 at knife center and they do a much better job with their Magnacut compared to their 20cv.
that definitely caught my eye from the shotshow videos I've seen, I really like the milling pattern on the scales and the red thumbstuds and black hardware are a nice touch, I think a milled Ti pocketclip would really go well on it.
Wooow!!! I want that Hogue, it looks superb, overwhelming with this classic design. And the titanium and the steel are flawless. I will buy this knife for sure but don't know how much is it?
This is amazing! I preordered it at KnifeWorks! This is a deal that is worth it. I love it and the best Crossbar lock action and smoothness right out of the box. I cannot recommend it enough. I do recommend a Lynch Ti clip. That is cherry, nuts, and/or whipped cream on top! 🎉👍✌️🤓
Hogue, the name carries some weight, I'm a little disappointed in some of the aspects you pointed out Jerad. Especially when you're talking a price tag north of $300.00. Just recently picked up a KUBEY in full titanium and S90V for a little more than $100.00... and all the boxes were checked. Good video. Thanks
No doubt it is, but I got a lemon out of the box. Mine came in the mail last week and the screws were a bit loose so I tightened them. There was just a hair's worth of side to side play, but tightening the pivot is all it needed. Then I tightened the body screws and the one screw on the pocket clip side (default was right hand carry) and the head of the screw sheered off. It was so weird. I know this can happen, but I didn't expect this considering they are pretty beefy T8's on the body. They are Ti screws too! The knife is great otherwise. I was able to get an exchange and it's supposed to arrive Fri or Sat this week. I've been dying to carry and use it since the screw broke.
Hogue really misses the mark on the pocket clip screws. Do they not carry their own product while wearing normal jeans? They use the same screws on the Deka. I put on a Lynch clip which has more room for the pocket seam and makes it more pocketable.
Imho...Hogue has consistently been the best American made knives for the money!! They give top-of-the-line materials for the best prices you can find & its All-American baby!!! 💪🇺🇸👍 If you've never had a Hogue blade...come on home! 😎 They really are insane quality, tho...
So is there an issue where the springs do not have enough room in the titanium, Because it seems like they're scratching the inside of the scales from the other TH-camr who tested the knife.
Hogue really should have used a hollow grind or a thinner blade stock on this Mysto. Magnacut has plenty of toughness, and most people don't need their EDC pocket knife to be that tough anyway.
Was hoping you would also have the tanto version. Almost all my daily carries are titanium bolster locks with marble carbon fiber scales. Been highly considering one of these though
Really! Speculation not that tests have shown or proved anything in the past 8 years, I'm curious how many different tests have you done? How many have you sharpened at different hrc, you don't have to believe what I say.
Well not quite for r&d because they made a mistake where the scales were scratching the Omega springs, hogue is more of a smaller outfit like Pro-Tech.
I'm not sucking houge off for this. $340 is not AMAZING.. Same steel and heat treat as their 134$ model same internals.. they put some eh scales with no weight reduction.. that's not a 200$ upgrade.. im over these influencers telling me everything is a great price.. no jared just bc it compares to other overpriced stuff doesn't mean it's not overpriced..
Then buy Chinese nobody is asking you to buy this, the people that want usa made will most likely compare the prices to other usa made knives with similar materials which it's either right on the money or better than in price, and Hogue is doing a good job with there heat treatment now so I'm not sure why they would adjust it
I seen that, I can't make my video around someone else's that I hadn't seen yet, ofcourse some people are going to have different complaints mine obviously did not fail the spine wack test, now are you going to go and tell him mine did great lol you have to take all the information and make a judgment don't base anything off of just mine I'm just giving my opinion off of the one and only example I have
You were gushing about it so I thought I’d give people the chance to see a different view! I will post on CBR that your example is magnificent but as he showed in his video his is a poor example! That way people can decide if they are willing to take a chance on a $300 knife when they see that quality control is gonna be a crap shoot!
I think I just found my gentleman's carry! That's a damn good price for that quality of knife

I read the title at first as "great value made a premium usa made knife" and i thought walmart was entering the real knife game for some reason.
Wouldn’t that be something lol
USA made should have been your first clue
The USA made Kershaw iridium at $64 destroys this knife.
Sure thing Carl. Hope your comment was /s cuz mine was lol

Hogue is made in Henderson NV, can anything good come from there?😜
I really like most houge designs. Thanks Jared
Never owned a Hogue...this WILL be my first. Then the Deka in 20CV because i hear so many good things
Really late but I would recommend it in Magnacut. You can find some in Magnacut and G10 at knife center and they do a much better job with their Magnacut compared to their 20cv.

I was thinking the same thing. Lol
Wooow!!! I want that Hogue, it looks superb, overwhelming with this classic design.

Well linked on the description I also showed the price in video and said it

Goodlooking knife, like the red accents
blade reminds me of the Hogue Deka in Magnacut.
That steel clip is such an eyesore on this knife. I wonder if any aftermarket clips would fit on it.
Need a houge in the collection this might be it
Need this profile in a 3" model

Impressive toughness on this one.
No doubt it is, but I got a lemon out of the box.

I buy one knife a year now a days. Thinking about making this my annual new knife or maybe a MSI.... thinking this is in the lead right now.
Tbh after having it a while I would push you a different direction
Aluminum and 200$ woulda been perfect
They're on sale for $279 at bladehq atm which isn't too bad versus day a Benchmade Bailout at $270+ retail
Jesus. I want it but I'm not doing it anymore. I don't need any more knives and I've been spending so much money.
Hogue really misses the mark on the pocket clip screws. Do they not carry their own product while wearing normal jeans? They use the same screws on the Deka. I put on a Lynch clip which has more room for the pocket seam and makes it more pocketable.
That's what I'm wondering
Has hogue made any adjustments to their lock? With better designs emerging like kizers multiple holes has hogue internals improved?
Imho...Hogue has consistently been the best American made knives for the money!! They give top-of-the-line materials for the best prices you can find & its All-American baby!!!
💪🇺🇸👍
If you've never had a Hogue blade...come on home! 😎 They really are insane quality, tho...
Hogue makes me forget about Benchmade...
So is there an issue where the springs do not have enough room in the titanium, Because it seems like they're scratching the inside of the scales from the other TH-camr who tested the knife.
I keep hearing the ramloc's are slipping. I have 4 and there's no way to make any of mine slip. And they have super light springs.
That reminds me of the Nirvana.
How is Titanium better that Aluminum handles? Good looking knife
Much greater strength to weight ratio. I do like well done aluminum also myself though
Hogue really should have used a hollow grind or a thinner blade stock on this Mysto. Magnacut has plenty of toughness, and most people don't need their EDC pocket knife to be that tough anyway.
Yeah I woulda loved to see that, I honestly think they were going for a 940 killer, which might be a great video
Was hoping you would also have the tanto version. Almost all my daily carries are titanium bolster locks with marble carbon fiber scales. Been highly considering one of these though
Nice knife but to narrow for my liken i like a wider blade
This is The Year of Magnacut! ... hopefuly 63+ HRC 😉
God damn you Jerad , now I have to get this one 😂, Would you rather have flat t6 clip screws or the button t8s ?
Damn you, flat t6
Bro, what that box ever do to you?!?! lol!!
Thanks Jared.
Hogue is literally laughing at Benchmade with this model
Just ordered mine today from DLT. Can't wait to play with it!
Nice
$330 🤯🤯
My gosh Jerad, seeing how you flip and juggle your knives, I don‘t want to meet you in a dark alley 😁
The science of jared on steel hardness.. pure speculation
Really! Speculation not that tests have shown or proved anything in the past 8 years, I'm curious how many different tests have you done? How many have you sharpened at different hrc, you don't have to believe what I say.
Hmmm
😍😍😍
If it was a button lock Id buy it in a heartbeat
That's. A 700 dollar benchmade..
Hogue > Benchmade
Well not quite for r&d because they made a mistake where the scales were scratching the Omega springs, hogue is more of a smaller outfit like Pro-Tech.

It’s not a great knife. Another channel has tested it and the results were m’eh. Failed the whack a mole test!
(CuttingBoardReviews)

$349.99 🤔🤔🤔💸💸💸💸💸💸💸😪
This one made me take my pants off.
Same
That title is kinda Clickbait..
Do you know what click Bait means? What was click bait about it?
(I still watched the Video & 'Liked' it) MY BRAIN SAW: "AFFORDABLE AMERICAN MADE KNIFE" LOL 😂
👍🏽
