What a great source of encouragement! I couldn’t recall hearing Art and Faith being taught as compatible as its being taught here. Thank you for your ministry!!!

Shallsoar, sadly, it is not taught clearly in many places, but that is our passion here! Let us know any questions you have or how we can encourage you.

Very helpful Joel! Great stuff. Never too late to put these precepts into practice.

Haven't done art for a while, mostly because of the paranoia and feeling defeated after hearing a lot of interpretations of the second commandment. But ive been getting an idea to create a new piece but it's in process in my head (for now), I'm still trying to figure it out. And here again, I found the video, to not rush things and take my time. Coincidence? I don't think so! Just like the first time, when I had so much confusion about the second commandment, I found this channel and the videos explaining the commandment and when I was feeling about rushing/not fully sure about a piece, I found this video. The way God works in our life is so mysterious yet amazing! Even in the midst of confusion, he eventually gives us the answer we are looking for, through his word. Indirectly or directly or gives out a solution through other people or some other way and sometimes it's a mixture of both. And i love how you pointed that we must keep God first in our life and shouldn't make art or anything else as our idols. And ofcourse, giving time to our family and loved ones because they are important too and gifts of God. Thank you so much Pastor, for such wonderful message!

Just recently found your channel and feel that these videos are helpful and hope to see more.
To answer your question, I make music and I usually end up doing my tracks quite quickly. It is not like I am in a hurry, I have plenty of time, but I usually go with the first idea and (usually) in 1-3 hours (not necessarily in one sitting) I am done as I find no ways to make it better. On the one hand I have made many of tracks this way and many that I like personally so I am not sure if this is a bad process necessarily. But the one thing I do very little is change things after the initial form of any part of a track; I do not know if I should force myself to do it more so the process could be extended...

What do your fans and friends say? Do you have any mentors who can give you some ideas for your process? Without hearing the music it is tough to give you any feedback on how effective your creative process is. Feedback is key.

It's ok (I was not expecting detailed feedback; just tried to share what my process looks like)
I do not have mentors or fans really, but my friends and family, to whom I have played my music, generally like them. People have described my music with words like "hard to define", "background music" or "art music". Although one friend who was making a game was interested to have my music in his game, but when he heard my music he concluded that it is too "retro-ish" for his game. But generally people seem to like. Of course I cannot be always sure if they are just being kind...
When I started to make music (years ago) I tried to get feedback by uploading music to TH-cam but I mainly got some more generic feedback like "this is nice" or something similar, so I figured out that the TH-cam is probably not the best place to get constructive feedback. Getting good feedback is really difficult. Later on I kind of gave up/forgot trying to get feedback.
I have taken the improvement in skills quite seriously but sharing my music or having an audience has never been so important to me... Maybe some day, Lord willing, I share my music with some regulated schedule here on TH-cam,. but maybe not yet.

Every AAA game publisher and big Hollywood studios always rush the creative process. They wanted to make an assembly line of mediocre media to consume. Their pride, greed and ego prevents them from learning further from their own success that they'll fail. They'll only learn if they lose money.

That can be true in any art form. The pressure to make money is always there, but the great ones focus on excellence. But trust me, there are people at those AAA companies who share your frustration! Hollywood, in general, is struggling with that same issue
