Unfortunately a lot of people in today’s society think they are entitled to whatever they want and will complain no matter what you do. Keep doing what you want, majority of us enjoy your content. Plus in Rural Louisiana it’s very common for people to add on rooms to their manufactured homes. I’ve even seen people add a second floor to a single wide lol

I know that the renovation/tiny homes/mfg home channels seem to attract trolls. When they start barking about what is wrong and what should be different I suggest asking them to please post a link to their channel so we can see how it "should" be done. That usually shuts them up since they have no channel. Offer them a box of Little Debbie's from Walmart if they go away. LOL

I’m from Louisiana and that’s what we are about to do in two years. I’ve seen some beautiful manufactured homes with added on second floors! You can’t really tell unless you ask. We bought a mobile home for $7000. Stripped it to the studs to update electrical, studs, and floors. We are about to update the roof in two weeks once I get pass my surgery and healing process.

Man I love how the added Sun porch in house number one with busted through walls opened up the entire house incredibly beautifully! Would I love to do that to my mobile home! And I might. I love the courage that it takes to just knock a wall down.

I love the Malibu house. Thanks! It is like my 10000 poverty trailer including the corrugated metal I added to my back deck. I don’t have double doors or a big bath but I have imagination and I am henceforth imagining that I live in a million dollar gem! Seriously! ❤️

Whooo, this was my mothers house for about 15 years! I only recognized it from the outside because of the parking spaces to the right.
and the trees at the end of the deck. This is amazing!! The original coach still has alot of the same layout, they combined a 2nd tiny bedroom and the original bathroom to make that large bathroom. That price is bananas considering she bought the original coach (the renovated structure on the right side) in 84 for $28,000😲 Now Pamela Anderson and Betsy Johnson have homes in this park.

Kerry, you have wonderful content! I've enjoyed all of your videos. And, THANK YOU for helping take the stigma out of mobile homes. I know several people who are tired of being house poor, selling their brick and mortar, and choosing an easier financial life, self included. I just bought a 2002 single wide, already in excellent shape for $20,000. I'm tearing all the windows out and replacing them with huge industrial style ones and then re-side it with eclectic mixed materials, I can't wait til its done! I've gotten a lot of these ideas from your videos, so thanks again.

I've seen manufactured homes in Newport Beach CA go for $2M and still have huge HOA and Lot rent. People are shocked in other states to know what prices are for an old mobile home that needs renovated in areas considered location, location, location in different regions of the U.S.A. and amenities. The best thing is there is a mobile or manufactured home in varying $ - $$$$ ranges in an area someplace to be within an affordable price range and renovate as the budget allows.

Ive seen renovated/updated mobile homes go for twice the original /new price. I think it may be regional variations rather than land/lot value

all these homes were professionally remodeled... this is what people could do IF they had their own land to put an older manufactured home on and remodel it like that. The biggest problem is Location... IF you have your own land, then all the better, but in alot of cases, these old trailers (pre 1978) are in parks... and people "try" to remodel them.... and the biggest problem is the location... if it in a park.... whats going to happen to that home if the park closes... and of course the cost... how many people are going to want to invest in something like that if they are in a park... food for thought....

Great channel - I enjoy your posts. I’m glad you did this comparison, I think it shows that the location really drives the price. I didn’t care for the 1st or 2nd homes but the 3rd was top notch. Prices...crazy.

#1 house: the jutting countertop looks like it could crack/break off with no thick leg supporting its weight but otherwise nice layout.

I live in silicon valley. I want to here your prices lol!! Our mobiles (yes even dated and not renovated) cost more than the average HOUSE in America,

Truly, I only like the third home. The first just didn't do it for me, and the second-unless it was remodeled a few years back,- had an "I want to look like a tiny house" vibe, imo. I did like the kitchen & bath. Third one was the charmer. The price was stunning, but given the view and access, what a winner. (That 1st one must have been interesting to sell!)

I have a serious question about manufactured homes. I may be in the market for a brand new home; are there any companies making them without formaldehyde?

Wondering if a solution to your "nobody is happy re: price post/not post" issue would be to post the price, adding something like "probable market value in XXXX area."

When you become a senior you will like carpet, it's warm, quiet and easy on the aging feet. I'm so over grey weather vinyl plank. It's going to date your home just like Harvest Gold appliances did.

Older people who buy and can afford these homes, may not have the best knees. You said your not a fan of carpet, but if someone has bad knees, carpet is much better to walk on then hardwood floors. I would know, my knees are bad and I'm very grateful my house has carpet.

I like the third one. I am wondering though if the Paradise Cove homes include the land? Malibu used to tax mobile homes on a different scale than a brick & mortar home. Of course “they” didn’t like that & have changed the tax code so of course this is now astronomical.

    • @KerryTarnow
      @KerryTarnow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

My understanding is that the land isn’t included.

I looked one of these up on Zillow & in the description it has zero for the HOA fees & I know that can’t be right.
