I had that exact same issue trying to remove the jade skates. The adhesive separates from the dot and stays on the mouse. Unfortunate! Glad to hear the obsidians are reusable. Thanks for the detailed review!
Im thinking of switching the stock skates of my lamzu maya into the obsidian ones but im really torn cause i dont want to waste the stock skates. Thanks for the video, hope to see the comparison between stock/pre cut skates vs dots soon
i have the obsidians but not the dot skates on my maya and the are great but i would say the stock ones are as good as the obsidians in terms of speed i play on a skypad btw
Hey! So Lamzu skates are odd because of their design. Between the stocks and the pre-cut Obsidian set I'd say the Obsidians will probably be more controlled, but keep in mind you can always remove the sensor ring if the skates are too slow for you. The Obisidians will definitely have a longer life than the stocks will though.
They'll be on the slower side, slow material + slow surface. Dots might feel a little faster, donuts will be controlled and full size skates will be the most controlled.
Hey! yeah there's a pretty big difference, from what I can tell the 2 dots = 1 donut skate. I'm still testing the donuts and I'll have a video about them out in a couple weeks but there is a big difference for sure.
do you think obsidians on a lamzu atlantis mini pro with an artisan hien will work well for fortnite? i need control and good tracking but also speed to edit fast.
Could you make a video, comparing the different mouspad options that X-Raypad offers? It's not very intuitive to navigate their products and know what the differences are. A video covering this would be great!
Hey! I've been wanting to try out X-RayPad's lineup but sadly they're VERY expense to get into Canada so I doubt I'll be able to look at their full-lineup anytime soon sadly.
I just ordered a pair of Obsidian air pro's (they are more silent apparently and much better than the regular pro's). But I'm a little worried that the dots might not fit my g502 x. Because the bottom skate for the g502 x is super narrow and I'm not sure if the dots will be small enough or too large to fit into the groove for the bottom skate. Wondering if I should just stick them onto the skates themselves and not even remove the originals. Ordered them directly from their very confusing site because Aliexpress is ridiculously asking double the price and so even with the super high shipping costs that xray asks it's still cheaper. Couldn't decide which one to get, ended up getting the xray air pro's. I hope I get them soon, because the PTFE feet under my g502x were always very low and the skypad has been eating at them for a while now. I don't think they will last much longer. They also have regular obsidian skates in the correct shape and form for the g502 x but from all the reviews the air pro seems much better. It does seem to glide less than the original obsidians according to some, but honestly, a tiny bit more control wouldn't hurt since the skypad is already super fast.
I'd avoid putting the dots on top of your current skates as they'll be too tall and it'll cause your mouse's sensor to spin out or not track. Best to remove your current stocks and install only the dots for the best experience.
@@mel0nFPS Thanks mate, that's what I figured too. I thoguht I could just increase the range it detects the sensor, but logitech doesn't have that. I was confused with my old razer and the death adder v3 that I bought and sent back lol. But the bottom skate for the g502 x is so narrow I might have to cut a little piece of the dots to make them fit in the groove Anyway excited to try them. The stock PTFE work fine for me honestly. But the glass is eating away at them. I don't use any pressure but I'm worried that they will eventually be so worn the mouse will drag on the glass instead.
hey! i have a question. i'm wanting to try the artisan fx zero soft and own a lamzu atlantis mini but don't know if i should get the atlantis mini skates or dots. which one is better?
basically if I only use cloth pads then jades are the way to go? Not really a fan of glass pads and the only other one that'd wear them down more I guess are rougher pads like the hien but that's still cloth. I think aside from hard pads maybe the shidenkai would wear jades down faster but feels like jades are mostly the move
I use both the Jades/Obsidians on cloth pads. The jades wear as fast as shandard PTFE skates so you can use them on pretty much whatever you want (aside from glass, ceramic) and they'll be fine!
hey would you recomment replacing fresh pulsar x2v2 skates for jades that i already own? I heard and feel that the stock skates on the pulsar are actually pretty good.
Totally up to personal preference imo. I think it'll be easier to get a set of Jades for the X2V2 than it will be to get a set of stocks from pulsar, you could also get corepads as they're close to stock too!
Which skates would be better for a cloth (linen-like) mouse pad? I saw a post about these mouse skates that the obsidian skates do better on glass pads.
Hey! Either work perfectly fine, the Jade's are good for all fabric pads & the obsidians are good for both fabric & glass pads. The only difference between them is the Jade's will be faster & the Obsidians will be more controlled!
Hi, this is my first time researching on Mouse Skates, I'm contemplating whether to upgrade from my Stock Skates My question is, which of these Skates have more "Control" on a "Cloth Control Pad"? Stock "Not 100%" PTFE Full Skates, or the Obsidian Dots? My preference is more on Control
Hey! So 100% PTFE stocks will be the fastest (jades) and hardened or micro-textured PTFE (Obsidians) will be the slowest. You can also try the donut versions of the Jade/Obsidians as they're larger and have more control than the dot versions. I covered the donuts in this video: th-cam.com/video/Hdomx5HfN-s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bmaEVO93m4EdLvJW Hope that helps!
Which do you recommened? I have a basic clothpad and I usually play tactical FPS games I have a tiger ice v1 as my skates and I'm torn between should I go faster skates that is similar to the ice or should I go the controlled skates since I play tactical fps. Thank you for the awesome review man your input is highly appreciated 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Which would you choose to main on NPET Speed M? I've recently tried Jade's on the Speed M and I find there is so much nicer feedback on the skates on this pad. It's also faster and buttery.
Good afternoon! Tell me your opinion - is obsidian suitable for basic mousepad or more for glass? There are more than 80% reviews on Aliexpress about using them with a glass mat…
Hey! They're the most universal skates I've tried so far, I use them on fabric pads all the time and they preform amazingly well (and they work great on glass)!
I'd avoid the ICE dots as the adhesive on em suck, I was only able to use like 15 of them out of the whole set I bought. Best to stick with the jade Air dots as they have better performance as well as significantly better reusability.
Hey! If you're going for a controlled experience and you have a light grip you can use them. But if you have a heavy grip you might run into issues where the mouse will bottom out as the pad is semi-soft. I has issues with my mouse bottoming out as I have a very heavy grip, so I ended up using donut versions of both the Jade and Obsidian dots on the GSRII and they worked perfectly!
The glue remover removes any glue that's left over from the stock skates. The alcohol cleans off any fats or oils from your fingers etc oils and fats can make it so that adhesive won't stick properly to plastic.
Really comes down to personal preference, if you want more control go for the Obsididians, if your want more speed go for the jades. There isn't really a "best" skate for a particular pad it's all personal preference.
The obsidians won’t damage glass but they do have a lot of audio feedback, I’d recommend looking into the Obsidian Pros as those are specifically designed for glass pads! I did an unboxing of them a few weeks ago and I’ll have a full review coming out in a couple weeks or so!

The glue remover removes any glue that's left over from the stock skates. The alcohol cleans off any fats or oils from your fingers etc oils and fats can make it so that adhesive won't stick properly to plastic.
