How to convert/modify a Servo Motor for Continuous Rotation in both direction using Arduino

  • Whenever I try to make some robotics project I always needed servos that rotates 180 as well as 360 degree and I had no problem is getting 180 degree rotation servos but getting full rotation servo was always a problem. Although i knew that I can convert the half rotation servo in to full rotation servo, It was not completely satisfactory for me since most tutorials spoke about rotating it in only one direction. But this functionality is there in servo so I tried to get this work.
    Servo Motor:

Hi, thanks for the tutorial video! It works!
However, I'd like to ask that, is there any method (codes) to make the 360° servo motor "pauses"/"stuck"?
Which means after a certain times of rotation, I wanna make it stop (without cutting the power supply), and even if I wanna rotate it manually (eg: by hands), it won't be rotated (eg: "lock" at that position).
    Thank you.

can u have position control right from 0 to 359 degrees?

Where's the pin layout diagram and code?

Why didn't you just disconnect the pot from the wires and place the wires in a potential divider of equal resistors, this would simulate 90Deg and you can use the standard servo signal to get direction and possibly speed.
servo control 0Deg --- servo rotates one way
servo control approx 90Deg -- servo stops
servo control 180Deg - servo rotates other direction.
No extra wires no extra I/O used.

Can you regulate speed in this way (your way ;) )? I would like to make 10-20 super small, super cheap cars for demolition derby (IR sensors for contact counting, ESP8266 for control). Thanks for replay.

OK, it works. Finally normal video.
