I drilled a small hole through the rear hatch door interior panel and ran a heavy duty wire down inside to the latch mechanism so I can pull straight up on the wire and push open the hatch from inside of the truck...
That's a nice, clean electrical install. Just curious...are you using strictly solar to keep the aux battery charged, or is there an isolator or DC-DC charger in the system?
The first generation Expeditions are much more reliable than the later years before they switched to Ecoboost. They can also be bulletproofed to prevent the spark plug issues.
@JoshJourney1 The one major issue that could fail on these rigs is the spark plugs popping out of the cylinder head because the threading is too narrow. A rethreading of the spark plug holes will potentially prevent this from happening.
Great build on this badass rig! I would imagine this entire package is a fraction of the cost compared to modern day overlanding vehicles.
💯

Nice build, simple
Sweet setup
This is great build, I will love to get the complete manual how to build this, please let me know if this is possible
That’s a sick truck!! Do they have lockers on it?
Great video you never went over the air conditioner part though

Solar and a smart isolator.
good day dear
could you plz help me to lift my expedition 2000 2WD for 3 inches ?
Looks like that interior set up is probably around 300lbs ?
Less than 300lbs since most of the seats are out
@@Horizoncamperbuilds Just curious what the cost would be just for the bed platform, nothing else ?
Only problem is it's an explodetion.

@@HorizoncamperbuildsHow do you bulletproof it. I have a 1st gen expedition as well and want the best longevity for it.
