Cell really had the potential to be the ultimate fighter. Frieza showed a MASSIVE power increase after training for just a few months in Revival of F, so Id assume Cell would be the same. Dragon ball super should of started immediately after revival of F. The anime reworking the two movies was silly. In the movies, Beerus seemed much more powerful. In the Anime, Goku and himself were pretty close. Which fucks up the rest of the series cause how are we supposed to see Beerus as a super bad ass when goku almost beat him?
I think they revisited the movies to flesh out Beerus and Whis a bit and also show the training Goku and Vegeta undertook to become SSJB. Even so, I find it a bit odd to redo them as well. You dont have to worry about Beerus. In an interview somewhere, Toriyama said if Beerus was a 10/10 strength-wise, Goku would be a 6 and Whis 15. Plus Beerus does something badass in episode 59 if you havent watched it yet. I hope to see more of him fighting and not just angrily talking or eating
