It is amazing to think that our ancestors were using these circles so long ago, and it just goes to show migration and that the same ideas were replicated across these great Isles. I loved the fact that the house was sealed up until needed again. Thanks for sharing, Cara.
It was a interesting place to visit, and more to it than i first thought. Thanks for watching
Just brilliant Cara!
I am always a sucker for a stone circle - but I have never been to Scotland, so not seen these.
Such a beautiful setting there with the trees backing the circle.
Thank you for sharing.
Take care,
Paul

Interesting to learn the history of the circle and learning about the shrine. Thanks for sharing and it makes me think of how hard it would be to move those stones into their place. 👍😊🇨🇦

Thank you! 😃
Nice looking place😄 there is a similar theory with the long barrows being house at one point before the they were barrows
Yeah, although some still believe this. Started as a house and became barrows. Interesting theory 🤔

Thank you 🤩
Fascinating Cara
Interesting to hear about the different uses and structures
What a thought about the horseshoe monument being painted and / or carved.
Can just imagine Woodhenge as a carved and painted pilgrimage site visited and having a wow factor for the ancients.
What a beautiful place this is too Cara.
Wonderful landscape to enhance that amazing site.
I had never thought about the wood in these monuments being carved or painted before but does make sense that they might have been. Thanks for watching

Hi Cara, this was a fascinating stone circle and as you say, it leaves us with more questions than answers. Lovely video, very interesting and enjoyable xx
Thank you, more to come from this area in the future 😊
Sorry for missing the premier Cara. Monday morning now and making up for not watching yesterday. Another interesting place to visit. I actually thought the stones looked quite beautiful. The stone circles are true hostoric works of art with a story to tell. Thank you for sharing your findings Cara. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
These stones are amazing and an unexpected find, so knew very little about it when we saw it. Thank you so much :-)
So very interesting Croft Moraig Stone Circle ...loved hearing the information you've uncovered for us today Cara..thank you for sharing this with us I am so happy to share my Sunday with you.
Thank you so much Donna, means a lot ❤️
This was an interesting explore to Croft Moraig Stone Circle, wouldn't mind a visit here that's for sure. Such an interesting and extensive history which you tell so well. Loved hearing about the intricacy of the building of the monuments. What a place, thank you for sharing Cara! xx
The whole area is stunning, thanks for watching ❤️
Nice 👍
thanks
That was beautiful, Cara. The hut was so pretty! I loved the daffodils as you drove past. 😊
Such a stunning area to explore. Thanks for watching 😊
Nice video on Croft Moraig Stone Circle, Cara. Do you think the stones may have been bigger and may be partially sunken in the earth, or was this just a smaller circle for short folk like me 😊
I think it’s for short people like us 😊
So sorry I am late viewing this & subsequent videos.
Thanks for showing this film of this smaller stone circle. I had no idea that it had had 3 stages starting with wooden poles! And I had never given it any consideration that the wood would be carved or painted but now that’s been raised feel sure it must have been- perhaps both?
When it was excavated did the academics decide if it was aligned with the solstices as all the major stone circles are?
I found that spot really beautiful, very appealing not least because of the ease of access!!🙂
No need to be sorry, i am so thankful for your support. I had never thought about the wood being carved or painted either, but it makes sense that it was. No they did not mention the alignment of the monument.
This was an unexpected find, so didn't know much about until i got home and got busy looking it up. I was a little shocked but at the same time over joyed. I wonder if they were to go, would they find Mesolithic objects? i mean wooden monument is often late Mesolithic to early neolithic. It really make me wonder, in which case, this area really need to be looked at more. Thank you so much for watching :-)
happy monday cara! i always try and imagine what they might have looked like when built. your history and descriptions are great help for that. have a great week! 🛴❤
Thank you, it was an unexpected find. Thanks for watching
