Bill is probably my all time favorite fishing fishing writer.
Thanks for the tour of the old stomping grounds. Glad to see every type of fisher on that fishery. Proud 1%
I would love to spend a day fishing with that man. I remember in the 90s when I was a teenager Bill and a few other guys who were always featured in STS magazine were my fishing idols.
Grateful for the continuing education, Bill!
Bill is an absolute legend!! The Yakima is on my list of places to fish for trout, hopefully soon 🙏
You should!
Come on down! I live here in Yakima. I'll take you out any time!
I’m going to make my first trip to the middle Yakima soon. Super excited!
Great and exciting action here! The Roostertails are a favorite, goto!
Awesome video! Love seeing video's of my backyard creek
Where is it at can I come ?
My backyard! Rooster Tails are the old school trout lure that that has never retired! Nice fish Bill!
You think it's better closer to Ellensburg or down in the canyon where they are?
@@208flatheads3 Both can do well. I prefer the canyon just for the scenery and quiet, not the highway noise by Eburg.
Right on
Looks like an awesome fishery! Great rainbow trout!
It is!
Favorite fisherman
Master bill herzog🎉🎉
"Bill Herzog - Author, Tackle Rep, Fishing Legend." - there, I corrected it for you.
Could not have been said any better.
In 2004, when I moved to Seattle, I was regular listener to his weekly Saturday radio fishing show. His knowledge, delivery, and humor....second to NONE.!
In person, at seminars, his authenticity, also....second to NONE.
MOOSEHEAD Cheers to you Bill Herzog 🍻🍻🍻
I love this video, gets me excited.
Probably my favorite kind of fishing
Brought to you by Barbless Hooks. Thank you very much, 😂😂.
Bill has a great article in STS about jigs for trout, been jigging the Yakima ever since!
Love herzog!
I've noticed Bill holds the line with his opposite hand when casting. Is this habit, or does this help distance and accuracy?
Can't wait for spring..
Do these jigs work year round or is it better to just fish them fall and winter?
if you watch(closely) Bill, when casting his spinning reel, will use his left hand to close the bail. and, prevent line tangle.
millions of hours of experience there...
Try small Sonic BaitFish on this river and other bodies of water to imitate sculpins and other bait fish. Bottom -bounce the Sonic if the bottom is smooth. Capt Pete
How is the stretch of river as you drop down from 84? It looks very fishy, just not sure of regs.
Nice video. Cool to see ones that don't involve hundreds or thousands of dollars of equipment.
Can you keep any fish you catch from that river or is it just the trout that are catch and release?
Regulations in WA are complex and change quite a bit compared to other states. Best to confirm for yourself. The Fish Washington App is a good tool as well.
Where can I buy Bill's jigs
Mr. Herzog was sharpening his hooks. Do you carry that particular sharpener in your store ? Also, what weight jig was he using and what size jig hook ?
We have some on order.
Tom those are the only diamonds I own!!
I do believe, and to be fair, links for counseling should be provided for Yak fly fisherpersons, that have been traumatized by this spin gear show, and may be experiencing episodes of hostility.😉
Nailed it.
Justin can you get them jigs in so we can order a few ? Great video!
Bill makes those himself but we are trying to bring in materials like that. Check back on the website.
What’s the name of the first and last location?
You would have to ask Bill. Join the AW private Facebook group. He is a member.
General Zog!
do you have a recipe for that jig? I would like to tie some.
Bill makes those jigs himself with a split shot. Maybe Bill will give us a demo on how to do that.
@@AnglerWestTV That would be awesome.
What size was the spinner?
On the back of his truck it shows he's sponsored by Shimano (good company). He's also apparently sponsored by "Judas Priest" (a religious rod manufacturer, perhaps).
Where is the location at
