I could still remember listening to this song for more than a month on loop... this cover is great but I really really love the original... no hate, I'm a filipino too but Neyo and Mariah's version is magical for me...
Yes they know. Philippines as a whole is very critical when it comes to our singers. So technically, only the really good ones, do it for a living here.
It's very difficult to make another one that's very far from the original because the lyrical arrangement of this song is leaning towards modern R&B and hip hop (ish)
I mean, that's where Mariah's vocal condition is leaning towards when she wrote the song that's why the lyrical delivery is very segmented to the point that it's almost rap (ish) making it difficult to recreate using other genre (in which knowing Katrina and Budakhel, they have the tendency to make a more Jazz-y rendition)
