    Exactly, the fact that Meg was going to never rat him out until he started spreading lies about her and getting very bold with his stories about what happened demonstrates he has no remorse or consideration. If he had shut his mouth he probably would not be going to jail. You can also see in the celebrities defending him that he spread a completely alternate version of the events to make Meg look bad. She saw that and had to tell the truth.

    What gets missed in Tory's case is that he was serving time no matter what Megan said. He was on probation and he had a gun that was not registered - all facts. He shot the gun in a neighborhood with no threat - fact. He didn't have to make contact with anyone to earn his time. He made it worse because he couldn't provide anything to make his sentence lighter. If he said he was an alcoholic and doesn't know what happened but he's sorry that would be one thing. But his disregard of the jury and the facts mean no one could see how he could get less.

  • @beautifulsurprise9424
    @beautifulsurprise9424 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Kohberger just needs to plead guilty and save everyone’s time. Of all the evidence one thing that points so heavily towards his guilt to me is that once the police announced they were looking for a white Hyundai Elantra he went and changed the state that his license plates were registered in. Like, no one does that unless they move to another state yet he conveniently needed to have his car registered in the next state over once he realized the police were looking for his car. That shows consciousness of guilt to the 100th power. It’s crazy how many people believe he’s innocent with all the evidence that the police have released and there’s most likely so much more that they haven’t released.

    I'm glad Tory's facing jail time. He needs time to reflect over the consequences of his actions. Many of his supporters shunned Meg, forgetting that Tory has displayed aggressive behaviour before in the past which has been caught on video (eg. his violent threats to Canadian rapper Dax, argument with Travis Scott and punching August Alsina). Even his father's antics outside the court were telling. Theres so many things people overlooked and its so tragic that Meg had to go through that trauma and fight so hard to get her point across when the signs were clear from the start.

I feel like Brian's lawyer is just trying to throw everything and anything out there to create any kind of reasonable doubt ... I've been known to need snacks at two am 😂 I don't turn my phone off randomly.... Tory lanez acted beyond gross after the fact...the taunting etc .. if he had just not done that and beyond apologized for his actions and actually seemed a tiny bit remorseful....I don't think he would have gotten ten years 😂 yay Megan ❤❤ as for the dude who killed his wives.... I love hearing the side of a public defender and a prosecutor on the same cases and Natalie is my go-to for the defense perspective. She has such a passion for making sure her clients get the absolute best legal representation! She humanizes everyone and makes sure her audience has a place for respectful discussion, whether they agree or disagree. Her understanding of the legal system and her ability to communicate it allows a layperson, such as me, to understand what's going on and why a particular action or statement might be important when I would have no context to understand it. She's also very balanced in looking at both sides, so it's truly enlightening following a trial with her! Please bring her back!

    • @p1nkyblue
      @p1nkyblue ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My understanding is the deportation process starts after Tory has finished serving his sentence. So Tory's appeal would have been heard and lost, he would finish serving his time and then he would be deported.

    I hate to give them any ideas but can't Kohberger just say, like, I donated that knife sheath to the Goodwill/thrift store? You can just drop a bag of junk off and no one needs to verify it. I just wonder if they will resale weapons or weapon accessories? 🤔🤔🤔

    • @danv9872

    • @OoMASEoO
      @OoMASEoO ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @danv9872 not sure how "one speck" is measured in the world of DNA... maybe it's easier to get from a metal clasp as opposed to a porus material like leather idk we haven't even had the trial yet! Obviously a speck is all that's needed to build an entire line of genealogy...

    DNA on the sheath, he admits to being in the area that night, several cell phone pings over time, he has NO ALIBI because "driving alone at night" is not an alibi. Supposed messages to one of the girls as well as pictures saved on his phone who I believe is Maddie! He literally went to school to learn about people getting killed and how to possibly get away with it. His car was seen on video, he's caught and arrested at his parents house wearing rubber gloves because he's separating his trash with his DNA from his parents trash, which he then placed his trash in the other people in the neighborhood's trash can. Cell phone turned off during the slayings, and then returned to the house a second time?! The only thing he has going for him is that there was no DNA in his car but if we recall the other roommate claimed to have seen a "naked man" fleeing, so maybe he wore a tyvek suit during the killings and then stripped down before getting in his car and that explains why someone saw a naked man! I think this guy tried to pull a "Murder by Numbers" circa 2002 because he thinks he's smarter than everyone else, and on top of that he's an incel who was obsessed with Maddie. So he plans the "perfect crime" and then sits back and watches to see if he could get away with it! I think he left the knife sheath on purpose as his "planted evidence" to watch the cops spin in circles! He just didn't know how good DNA technology is today. I think he saw the clip of his white Elantra on the news and started panicking so he left school and went to his parents house! If he did have photos of Maddie on his phone and messages that had been ignored, then there's the motive!! I don't think he meant to kill anyone but Maddie, it just so happened that Kaylee was there spending the night, and Xana/Ethan surprised him by being out of their room at the wrong time! He's innocent until proven guilty but I don't see how he's not guilty. Dude should just wear a shirt that says "I did it"!
    Rip Maddie Kaylee Xana and Ethan

      @KBillysSoundsOfThe70s-iz3op ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agree 100% ,Madison Mogen was the intended target and only target initially .And the lack of DNA in his car can be explained. He cleaned that car meticulously from inside roof to gas pedal and was observed doing it by the Pennsylvania State police at 4am in the morning and walking the distance (Google Satellite Images) of over a 1/4 a mile to toss the towels and rags away in his neighbours bins. I also have a strong feeling those rags and towels were retrieved by the police but that news hasn't been released because of the gag order. His Lawyer said police didn't find nothing in the car but that doesn't mean the police didn't get evidence from the materials that were tossed into the neighbours trash bin

      That is not what she said. She's talking about the husband giving a lively walk-through of the home, where he just shot someone and where his wife was just murdered. The man was smiling. They said he was "animated." No one said anything about unladylike behavior. I rewatched to make sure I hadn't misheard.

      Public defenders protect people from going to jail. Everybody in America deserves to have good legal representation.

      @@PamelaH_HappyVibesin theory that's what they're supposed to do but really they just push as many cases through as fast as possible there more about plea deals than anything but yes in theory I agree with your comment.
      Where I live though we call them public pretenders. Also where I live it's a stepping stone in their legal career usually right out of law school they go into public defending or the public defender's office and that only lasts a couple years if they're there for an extended amount of time it's because they're just a bad lawyer or for some reason they really want to work and the public defender's office for peanuts. Mind you I do not think Natalie is a bad lawyer I think she's right out of law school with a TH-cam channel this is like the next step public defender and then private practice so on and so forth

      *A public defender is a lower version of a lawyer*

      @@tribeofjudah9330 ?? Public defenders are lawyers. In some jurisdictions, it is convention for established criminal lawyers to pro bono public defender work. They, and the prosecution, tend to be the most skilled attorneys as they have to be flexible with a wide variety of crimes and their facts to make or disprove a case. Everyone should take some time to get outside, bc these comments are disconnected at best

    Joshua Ritter sounds very dehydrated. Prolly partied last night and hasn't rested enough..? The brain needs rest and rehydration before dealing with detailed analyses.
    Natalie Whittingham is brilliant! Thanks for bringing her on for this episode
