- Some of the cargo has washed up on islands north of the Dutch and German coastlines. That's led to people on shore launching treasure hunts. Now authorities are warning the public to stay away, saying there could be harmful chemicals. Philip Owira reports.

Give it all to the mayor. lol
He actually said that holy moly
Sad. Corruption at its finest.
Is this why my as-is discounted new tv doesn't work?
Japan cargo ship is burning and then a Chinese cargo ship goes missing...trade war is on.
I'm sure that happens quite often, that north sea is a rough area of water especially in the winter time
Lol that mayor is greedy AF. What would the mayor have to do with international trade.
if this happens in Brazil there would be no load on the beach Brazilians take everything
@Rob F
Live off the luxuries of containers' contents
What was it doing in the North sea if it was travelling from Germany to Portugal?
Is that a trick question lol
too many containers are fine with losing them.
Did you find my mailorder bride?
Get me some of that peroxide to roll around in.
Probably a bunch of cigarettes
Oh my god .. I missing my slippers
I got curious and googled of this ever happened 😅 welp got my answer
Is it fake? I don‘t know how to google
@@christo6068 it's true and it seems to have happened quite a few times
@@christo6068 No UFC fights tonight. Sad times
🙄🙄🙄🙄
Idk why I never saw these replies. I’m saying TH-cam suggested this like a couple days after I randomly googled if this had ever happened before. I don’t remember what the results were but I must’ve been disappointed that this didn’t originally come up
First submerged or wash out with abundant freshwater to remove salt, and only then let it dry. Even saltwater is better than air, so don't let the electronics items to dry until may be treated with freshwater.
I can imagine the Bill Maersk Got
I think MSC who had the responsibility on this accident !!! Mostly the insurance ‘s company will refund them!!
I never seen a tv here but now I have 4K hdmi 3000k. God admit where’s the bloody remot at. Jaffa damata
The expense goods the mayor wants are toxic ..so just pick up the non toxic flip flops
Madagascar
So pathetic
So are the containers waterproof?
No, they have small vents, they will float for quite a while though, and make for dangers mines for other ships
Salt water and drying out a TV ? Yeah that's gonna work
He's just going to sit there looking at it..clever lad.. everyone will think he's loaded
@@TheBenzer9 ... might be worth a gamble of soaking the TV in fresh water for 24 hours then letting it dry for a few weeks. Worst that could happen is it wont work.
@@rupe53 think ur right 🤣🤣
@@TheBenzer9 siv
@@rupe53Better chance that way than leaving the salt on it, if you do it will quit every time it rains
Anything falling off ships and wash ashore is fair game to anyone that finds it.
Fact.
It’s a one in trillion chance to find one 99.99% of them just sink in
"They expect the cleanup to take... A long time" 😂😂 How long is a long time? 5 hours? 5 days? 5 weeks? 5 months? Cmon man, you can do better reporting than that.......
Obviously the mayor was in on it😂😂😂
Lmfao all goods that have any worth must be given to authorities which is the mayor 🤣 😂 but they can keep the garbage
What a joke
Lmao.. I can't believe he actually said that ...he's as bad as biden and harris
Do the authorities really believe the public is going to hand in goods washed up ... I know one thing I wouldn’t that’s for sure
Give to the mayor,yea. No
If thr authorities want the goods of value how about they pay to send a crew to clean up the pollution. If anything people cleaning up the beaches doing a community service and are being rewarded for something the government isn't doing.
Well it's still theft technically. Yes the items will probably have insurance so the companies will be paid but you didn't see people helping themselves to stuff after 9/11.
The Mayor "All goods of value must be handed over to authorities, in this case, the mayor"
they found a big KNOB on the beetch, apparently it is to suck on if you are a Mayor.
Dumpster dive of a lifetime
salt water and elctronics never go in harmony
Your Amazon parcel is out for delivery….
Delivered and signed on the beach…
I'm still hoping to find 3 or 4 washed up holdhalls full of Colombia's finest washed up on the Kents coastline 😔
I be blown
I know a guy who did.
The flat screen TV is of no use. When they come to the USA they have to be coded electronically in order to work. But it makes a nice picture frame.
Also it was in salt water which will destroy even waterproof technology
Man
If you’re just going to scrap all that, why not let your people just keep it. There’s definitely insurance that covers all of this.
Insurance coverage is 100 % irrelevant.
@@integr8er66 by “covers it” I mean that it is written off so they should keep it for free
Bunch of garbage in the sea water
My container with inflateble dolls is still lost😭😭
all are probably used as a liferaft
Save me a tv and some shoes
Con razón no me llegó lo de Aliexpress
When I see such events, as a technician I feel like throwing up. Not because I don't begrudge people their flotsam and jetsam. No, because all the salvage companies to date think as far and as short as a swath drops excrement. A simple combination of SWATH ship and hovercraft. Such situations are described in a very, very short time as a rigid stilt configuration or as a split-gate execution. A question for the freight insurers and your current level of technical education or the level of technical education of the absolute top consulting companies worldwide. Convert your mental gruesomeness into basic knowledge and analysis. If you don't do it worldwide, I'm sure I'll do it worldwide later. Greetings, Peter
Those containers are fair game if people want to take the stuff inside to make use of,insurance paid for it already.
So it belongs to the insurance company then?
@@pablo1985
It’s written-off off by insurance and belongs to nobody. Considered abandoned.
Actually you don't know how maritime laws work, the other shippers whity containers not lost pay the bill
@@42luke93Not true, do your research before you put your foot in your mouth
If they find any thing one sea shore it’s flotsam you do not have to give it to authorities if they don’t want you to take it they should rope the beach off and salvage it them selves it a find the company that originally owned it get insurance for it if the container is sealed that’s a different matter one of which I’m. Not sure of but you can clam salvage rights I think like finding a washed up boat it all comes under maritime law
Actually the ship was on his way from China to Bremerhaven, Germany
Just because its toxic doesn't mean I don't need or want it, I mean they would call gasoline toxic, and I'd love to have a bunch of it for free
Dollar tree , dollar general dollar store items. Bunch of junk.
These container ships are overloaded. They need to lower the height of the stacking of the containers.
One more reason to keep your goods in your own countries! Waste all over the world.
It is cheaper to make them in China, electronic goods made in USA or Europe will be too expensive to sell in the home market.
The container ship company should be liable those containers shouldn't just be stacked up loosely they should be fastened down so they don't fall off it's just completely ridiculous
It is! And the shipping company MSC, didn’t take any responsibility to clean up the mess….. till today it is still there..
If anyone find a whole lot of xmas bentleys their for me as they never arrived from santa
Hmm..
Welp seems they were overloaded by about 270 containers
the authorities shood clean it up
Wherever authoritarianism raises it's ugly head, just ignore it.
Here we are everybody, the sov citizen/anarchist/everybody else's property is mine guy is here.
What 'authoritarianism' are you talking about? Those containers, and the goods within, belong to somebody. If you were driving down the road and one of the doors opened, allowing a box full of your clothes to fall out, would it be finders keepers? Even if you went back to recover them?
fgy
Let him have it all
Today February 17 2022 18:23 Thursday from julius wilson. From chicago if they lost 270 container that about 10,800,000 to 16,200,000 pounds pf items 5,400 to 8,100 tons
To hell with the mayor whatever falls is for.spoils
Então é assim que as encomendas da ali express não chegam no dia certo kkk
are the owners of the containers going to pay for the cleanup
Dat is dus genieten👍😂😂
Free stuff on the Beach!
😂❤️
There are few goods that survive the sea water bath, among them well packed finest colombian power !
Sea water actually mellows it a bit. You get the same results but it's not as chemical smelling. Sure, you lose some weight but if it's free who cares?
nederland gekolinseerd
Kindda counts as maritime salvage doesn't it? They can keep it I guess
I wonder if that old codger got his flat screen working?
It would have produced the magic smoke.
So sad, selfish greedy humans, How about looking after the planet and forming a beach clean.
