Fun fact. Sky drop is so bad that it's bugged! Sometimes, and it's entirely at random, you'll just pick up an enemy Pokémon and just...stay up there, forever. And when you do that, the enemy can't move, but you also can't hit it with any other 'mon on your team. So you can just time out on a map randomly because Braviary became buddies with the enemy and didn't feel like coming back down.
@@nicholastricarico2957 It can. It just takes a lot of continuous play, I've found. That, and it only seems to happen when the link reaches 100%, so I'm guessing it's a combination of both those things that lead to the glitch.
The funny thing is that Oichi is actually one of the best Warriors in the game...when she's not using Wigglytuff, which is why most people drop it on Oichi after the Warrior Transformation. I paired her with Haxorus and she just one shot everything to the point that she essentially became my Nobunaga counter in the Motochika chapter. My main highlight with Wigglytuff is...when she got 1-tapped by Rayquaza on Turn 1 of the final battle. She was the only Warrior that got knocked on my team for that battle. The game straight up told me that I had better chance going 5v6 than using Wigglytuff 💀.
2:09:17 Fun Fact: The only time homosexuality got outlawed in Japan can be traced back to the Western influence the country started to receive in the 19th and 20th century. Pretty much all LGBT bigotry nowadays was imported from other countries.
@@BJGvideos The ways sexuality and marriage is viewed as a concept nowadays is very different from how it was centuries ago, you can't measure it with those parameters. For most of its history, Japan was very open when it came to same-sex relationships, to the point it even showed up in their folklore and art in a very regular basis (highly recommend checking up). This aversion towards gay was something that only really started showing in later modern ages, for the reasons I mentioned.
Masamune/Braviary is that one pair I'm grateful for because I actually saw an event in game thanks to Braviary being bad. I actually lost a wild pokemon battle trying to train these guys, and one of my warlords (in this case, Hanbei) immediately went to us like "what was that?! Poor showing there Lord Masamune." and decided he didn't want to stick around if we're that weak... ...except instead of outright leaving he behaved like a unit that was still in your army, but unavailable at the moment, like in the training trip event. And sure enough, he shows up again in like, three months or so, carrying some items, saying he only left to look for ways to help the army.
Hey this is actually pretty similar to the competitive PvP tier list we have in the Ransei server. Just a couple of differences. 1. We have Scyther in our list and he's way stronger than Scizor since Scyther can stack Fury Cutter on ally Pokemon (pairs well with Chandelure), allowing him to OHKO even through type disadvantage. His higher speed and flying typing also works to his benefit. 2. We've ranked Braviary around B tier. Sky Drop is actually pretty strong because it can prevent your opponent from using a key Pokemon like Reshiram for an entire turn. While Braviary is in the air with your victim you can take out the rest of the team. 3. We have Vaporeon much lower. Despite its 4 range, Water typing, and high range attack Vaporeon is just a bit too slow and Hydro Pumps accuracy hurts it even more. Its hard to use Vaporeon when its hitting around 60% accuracy and Gyarados is much better with stronger abilities like Frighten (massively helps with accuracy) and a flying typing to ignore terrain.
Kinda curious, is the tier list for the Warlords the same? Since in PvP you aren't limited to Perfect Links, I would assume several different characters would be way higher on the tier list, like Shingen, Yukimura, and Masamune (especially him since Braviary is valued more there).

Genuinely, honestly, Rhyhorn is more versatile than Rhyperior. May actually be better despite worse stats. Rhydon is certainly better, even if its attack range can be tricky to use on certain maps. It's just.........what on EARTH did Rhyperior do to deserve this?! Crummy movement AND attack range? As well as a move that makes you not able to attack next turn? What a waste of Shingen's perfect link (aside from Groudon, of course, but that's a post game thing).
@@nicholastricarico2957 don't forget the bad speed stat to further accentuate the bad movement and attack AoE! Gotta love the 70% accuracy, the recharge turn, and the Rock/Ground typing so you can get clapped by Jungle Jeigen! I suspect the devs intended Rhyperior to be like Onix in RBY - a big and intimidating boss mon that shows you ain't in the little leagues anymore, as well as a tutorial that Perfect Links aren't always perfect... Because Shingen has a crap ton of good options when it comes to 90% Links like Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Garchomp, along with Bisharp at 88%.
finally got around to playing this game, I got a darumaka pretty early on and was like wow this does a lot of damage. It evolved and wow it's insane. went into the flying map with some suboptimal pokemon, most of them ended up dying early on. It didn't matter because darmanitan just one shots everything.
I remember this game! It was a cross with Nobunaga's Ambition, but the outfits used are specifically taken from Samurai Warriors 3, another Koei Tecmo game that is a spinoff of their Dynasty Warriors series that just covers the same Sengoku Jidai time period with similar gameplay but slightly different character mechanics. I've been hoping they would do a sequel to it for years, though now that would be a bit of a challenge...not only because of the changes to Pokemon over the years, but because if they kept on using similar character models they would have to choose to go back to Samurai Warriors 4/4-II models that are about 10-ish years old or use the updated SW5 models that exclude a ton of post-Nobunaga characters. Either way, underrated gem that I love dearly and wish more people would acknowledge!
@@ImportedCheese Honestly, with the way that certain moves in Pokemon Unite worked (garbage but fun to play regardless) I think that if another company were to take that same idea and use Pokemon moves in a different style, KT could actually make a decent Musou-style game with Pokemon, in a somewhat similar style to how Persona 5 Strikers worked, but with much weaker Mons like Caterpies and Rattatas for the lower-grade enemies. (Or using Pokemon as stand-ins for your PCs so you're fighting against humans or humanoid creatures as the Pokemon themselves)
I think my only knock on this entire list is the placement of Yukimura. Yes, his perfect link is Charizard and he starts with Emboar, but he has a 90% link with Darmanitan, Gyarados, Staraptor, Chandelure, Infernape, Volcarona, and Bisharp (he has more but the rest aren’t really worth mentioning). You’re almost never hitting 90% - let alone 100% - link in any of the missions unless you’re trying to, so he’s perfectly fine with any of his 90% mons, making him one of the best battling warlords across the board. He also has one of the best warrior skills in the game (+2 move, + crit rate) and is available fairly early and in a lot of the side missions. I think he still gets dragged down by his starting and perfect link Pokemon, but he’s probably mid A tier at worst. Other than that, love Conquest getting attention and the history lesson and I think the Warlord and Pokemon rankings are pretty accurate overall! Fantastic content once again!
It’s pretty cool what they did with Conquest. Mitsuhide kills Nobunaga, so ice beats dragon. Then Hideyoshi kills Mitsuhide, so fire beats ice. And fire beats steel, with Yukimura (and the Sanada) repeatedly fighting back against the Tokugawa. And because the warlord sprites are based off of Samurai Warriors 3, character relationships carry from that game too. Magoichi was made into Masamune’s friend and mentor of sorts in 3, and Nene was made into a ninja just because. Kunoichi basically represents the Sanada Ten Braves and is Yukimura’s bodyguard, so we got a ninja! Tadakatsu was a peerless warrior and a protector of Ieyasu, explaining why he’s stronger than his boss. I can go on and on! I wonder what a remade version of this game would look like. Would there be a fairy type castle? And who would be in charge of that amongst the Samurai Warriors playable cast? Would Azai Nagamasa remain the protagonist, or would someone else be chosen instead?
Out of fairness to Fiery Moth, you should force codenames onto the other Pokémon in this game. For example, Ampharos would be Zappy Sheep, and Serperior would be Worst Starter.
I will say this, Charizard is the best 2 Move Pokemon to give the Guardian Charm to, Especially if it's Yukimura's Charizard after Yukimura has evolved. And that Stacks with the Ability "Last Bastion", which gives a permanent attack and defense boost when that Mon is your last (or in this case, ONLY) one standing. Sucks that THIS how to make Charizard a Beast in this game, but hey, it needs what it can get.
1:54:19 this might not actually be a correct change? In Street Fighter 3, there's a character Makoto who is a shotokan karate fighter. (as opposed to Ryu and Ken whose style is sometimes wrongly referred to as shotokan? I think?) One of her most common voice lines has her shout "Chesto!" when attacking, and a quick search brought up it's potential use as a battlecry called a kiai, which as I understand it is the equivalent of giving phonology to the loud grunts tennis players make when exerting themselves. I don't know any more than that but I'd imagine they were less far off than you first thought.
Two move is terrible, but it's not quite bad enough to ruin moves as good as fire blast or blizzard. Partially because hitting 3-4 tiles away mitigates some movement issues, partially because the enemy also moves towards you, and partially because you're always gonna be using guardian charm on 2 move pokemon anyway. For instance, walrein will pretty much always start attacking before zekrom. Because of the difference in their attacks ranges, a pokemon needs to be 13 squares away for zekrom to start attacking first. That number balloons to 17 if they're both running GC. This isn't even taking into account that enemy pokemon come towards you. GC charizard is stronger, hits more enemies, and arguably is even more mobile (Flying) than GC zekrom. Now, darmanatan is always gonna be significantly better than emboar. Articuno is always gonna be significantly better than walrein, etc. Also, 2 move pokemon absolutely always have to use guardian charm. They just cannot work in teams (Especially last bastion mons like charizard and tyranitar). However, they're not as unviable as you make out. The other pokemon I think you misunderstood is bibarrel. Guardian charm bibarral is invincible and one shots everything. Sure it has only 3 move, doesn't fly, and only hits one pokemon at a time, and there's an immunity to its only move. You know who else has those issues, but also has stats generally lower than bibarrel? Zekrom.
2 mov in solo guardian charm fights is....okish... It's more that 2 mov pokemon are unusable outside of gc because they lag so far behind everyone else
@@ImportedCheese I'm not saying charizard, dragonte, etc are top tier or anything. They're high B at best. I'm just saying they're not unusable. Besides, I'd much rather have a 2 move flier that can attack 3 away than a 3 move land unit that attacks 1 away, even in team games.
I think some 2 movement Pokemon can be fixed if you support them with movement boosting effects, Masamune (with a GOOD pokemon like Gyarados) +3 movement for 3 turns to self + adjacent allies is my favorite way to fix pokemons like Groudon and Charizard. 5 movement for 3 turns Zekrom and other 1 hitbox pokemon i think are worse, as there is no way for them to kill more than 1 pokemon a turn with their moves
I actually do think there is a good amount of potential for a game like this centered around either the American Revolution or the Civil War (you only use the Union side). John Paul Jones could be a Water type specialist bc he was basically a privateer for the American Navy, Benedict Arnold could be the Dark specialist bc he betrayed the Revolution, Sherman could be the Fire type specialist bc he burned the South to the ground (justifiably, but still), Grant could be the Fighting type specialist and have his perfect link be Annihilape bc he was known as “the butcher” who would essentially just throw Union soldiers at the South until it just collapsed, Washington could be the ice specialist since his army was in the North a lot facing the bitter cold and just give him glass cannon links like Weavile. There’s a good amount to do with either concept
@@jeremyrossi2716ooo sounds like a fun game! Yea & i don't think having a "neutral" or "choose your side" kinda story would be a good idea for that ahaha. Kinda would be interesting if conquest let you like ally with specific warlords to help them personally take over & maybe a different ending depending on it? Would def be for like a remake tho
I remember buying this game because of “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Rise to Power”. Highly recommend for anyone that’s into Civ, HOI4, etc. I play it on my PS2, but I’m sure that there’s a way to get it for PC.
Since the character designs and their personality in this game were taken from Samurai Warriors, you could've used the koei tecmo wiki for the characters since it goes into very great detail on their design and personality (and even historical information).
For recruiting warlords you have to do 1 of 3 things with your own warlord. 1: Defeat them within 4 turns 2: Defeat them without any of your units getting damaged 3: Defeat them with a super effective attack Think they all still have to be within 4 turns because I killed a warlord with a super effective attack, but they didn't get recruited or it could just be I wasn't paying attention and killed them without using a warlord with a super effective attack. And I still think Samurott is better than Gyarados even though it can't fly simply because of conqueror. Also cheating in a single player game means nothing, unless you're doing a challenge for content, but otherwise complaining about cheating (passwords for conquest, or glitches in other single player games) really gives off Yoshimoto energy especially if you either want to just play for the story or want to speedrun it since you've played it countless times already. Another also, Male mc has better drip, change my mind.
@@ImportedCheese Yeah for sure especially for tier lists since not everyone knows about cheats, but some Pokémon don’t even spawn unless it’s an event or you have level 3 buildings which takes very long to do if you don’t want to use the crappy delegate system.
I would have love that you talked a bit more about the best abilities for each pokemon... You only talked about the levitates and shadow dashes. Great video for the best spinoff game of the franchise. Also you talk about the gods of thunder and wind, talk about naruto and you dont talk about yaiba? Ps. Meowth is a bad foghter... But its abilities, bonanza and fortune, increase by alot the gold you gain in mines. And it stacks with the lucky coin. It doesnt stack with other meowths though, so only one per kingdom Pps You have to try using at least 4 zubats with mellee around an enemy. Its not the optimal play, but it funny to watch
2:09:20 did you ever talk about how japan became puritanical? I don't remember hearing you go into this last time I watched this, and I am very interested
Fun fact: the armor of Masamune was one of the main design inspirations for Darth Vader. Maybe if his perfect link was Bisharp he could’ve used the full power of the dark side. Unfortunately he chose…Braviary…at least he has the high ground. I would say give him Kingambit, but knowing this game he’d probably be 2 or 1 movement.
First time ever watching your content and ive got to say i really enjoyed your editing and charisma. Kept me entertained for the entire 2 and a half hours of the video‼️ Keep up the great content 🙏
20:13 Deino is great at first, but that “and then it evolves” was at 64% link for me so enemies had better stats than it (being fully evolved) including like 100+hp. It’s a chore to raise later on when you could’ve just scaled damage with Gabite (though not a perfect link)

I remember intending to play it when it came out, but then I forgot about it and never did. Which is not unusual, I do take a long time to get to newer games. Even when I intend to play on release I end up playing like, 8 years later. Watching giant streams about them should have an effect on how long it takes to play them, though.
Overgrow Snivy is absolutely worse than Overgrow Chikorita. It does better in the gen 5 games because Unova is nowhere near as full of hatred towards the Grass type as Johto is, but if you try it in basic replacement hacks and such, Chikorita absolutely stomps Snivy. Hard.
Very interesting Japanese lore! Curious but as someone who lives/lived in Japan do you ever see any people like wishing to return to those divided times/worshiping an irl overlord? Also for the icy sadoku guy maybe it's bc the guy was the main villian but i can't help but assuming that he was a tyrant and maybe the ice guy just didn't want his terror unleashed. This game flew under my radar for years, but I'm having fun giving it ago after watching this a few times. Am I crazy or does the attack forecast seem to lie about accuracy? Moves seems to miss way way more than their chances would suggest.
I actually never heard of this game before this video. The idea is strangely cool for... well, being a Pokémon game. So it's good? If you say it is - heck, your Pokémblem recommendation was absolutely worth following, so... _maybe..._
I actually think haxorus belongs in S, above vaporeon. The sheer difference in damage cannot be overstated, and there's also plenty of ways to increase movement, meaning he can have the same move as vaporeon while one shotting up to 4 pokemon each turn. Haxorus can still attack while recharging, and there's several good warlords that can link with him (oichi, nobunaga, tadakatsu, etc)
@ImportedCheese hydro pump also has accuracy issues, when I played through the tutorial campaign vaporeon missed so many times that it ruined my perception of hydro pump
Will we get a follow up list for the "Mega X" Xenologue and the Griseous Expansion? I hear Mega Charizard X is the hardest boss in the game so I wanna go in with the Finest.
I have played Pokémon Conquest: ~Warriors Faint Twice~ for the Nintendo DS, I remember playing it, seeing all the stories that crop up after you beat the first story, playing the one with the pink Wigglytuff girl and then shelving the game forever. I forget what I evolved Eevee into but I'm 90% sure I replaced it with a Pichu because it's my favorite. :)
I’ve used two move Pokémon before. I found it mildly annoying at times, but I didn’t feel like they were weak because of it. Though I also don’t give a sh*t about efficient play or doing things quickly.
Im shcoked by how bad they made Musharna, why would they put Musharna in the game at all if it was going to be completely useless? Were they trying to make people hate Musharna, or did the devs just hate the dream world that much?
"Was renound for his/her strength/beauty" is no match for "His/Her hero skill increases your attack". Seriously , I gave up keeping them straight a fourth of the way in. Still, good video!
I've done a bit of diving into the game's original references and it blows my mind how they so seamlessly integrated Japanese history, Pokemon, and the characters' Samurai Warriors designs. Even on the base level of being a Pokemon game, the characters have very rich personality and design, and the creative costumes of the Warlord evolutions never feel like they betray the original concept. I never appreciated the designs or characters as a kid, thinking either that a) they were completely original or b) a few of the characters were borrowed from Japanese history. As much as I would love a remake of this game, I worry that such an intricate mesh of the IPs and actual history would topple under the weight of its predecessor if anything were added or changed, even something as simple as an 18th type. Speaking on the gameplay aspects, it sucks to say that a beloved game from my childhood could make such bad designs and choices. But wow, some of the Pokemon are an absolute joke. I am replaying the game now and even with the dirty strategy of Guardian Charm solo-ing, Forretress is flat-out unusable, not to mention his Perfect Link Warlord. I think a lot of dual type Pokemon have a distinct disadvantage that they can only use moves from one of their types - no Earthquake Rhyperiors or Air Slash Charizards or Draco Meteor Reshirams or Waterfall Quagsires. It really stings in cases like Quagsire where your Water Gun powerhouse Wooper changes course entirely, becoming a Ground move user instead. If there ever was a remake or sequel, I would hope they give the Pokemon at least one additional move to choose from, like how various Fire Emblem units can have mastery over one or two weapon types but may even use others.
I don't agree with glaceon, if you only consider the tutorial i may agree, but on the rest of the contents is honestly very good since you then start with him. Glaceon and vaporeon are basically the only real choices as per gameplay, the other just to get that 100% completition. As per the 2 movement, it reminds me of Bleach the 3rd phantom and the power charaters, same struggle xD (still used one since he was my favourite character)
@@ImportedCheese btw, you said glace on is frail, but actually has a very good defence stat 🤣 like, Vaporeon has 50 less base defense (almost double hp but that's a detail xD)

At least Barth has 1-2 range instead of being locked to 3 range wtf

As long as the game isn't made by GameFreak it'll probably be good...
@@ImportedCheese wasnt brilliant diapa made not by gamefreak
Bro I LOVE Samurai Warriors, and I actually discovered Pokémon Conquest because of those games.
I loved the intro with the Japanese voice acting, 10/10. Great video, I watched it all in one sitting!
Thank you! Let's! Conquering!
Traumatized by 2 move
Maybe they'd make Oichi the fairy type trainer?

I will say this, Charizard is the best 2 Move Pokemon to give the Guardian Charm to, Especially if it's Yukimura's Charizard after Yukimura has evolved.
And that Stacks with the Ability "Last Bastion", which gives a permanent attack and defense boost when that Mon is your last (or in this case, ONLY) one standing.

Fire spin was my favorite move in this game, especially when soling with the guardian charm.
Three fire monkies, and two are great!!
Do you mean 2 monkeys and a lamp?
Sounds like it could be correct, except that I'm NEVER wrong!!!
I believe chesto is commonly used as a generic battle cry
Gonna riot if I don’t see a tier list on Pokémon Mystery dungeon
it'll be a while
Two move is terrible, but it's not quite bad enough to ruin moves as good as fire blast or blizzard.
I think some 2 movement Pokemon can be fixed if you support them with movement boosting effects,
Masamune (with a GOOD pokemon like Gyarados) +3 movement for 3 turns to self + adjacent allies is my favorite way to fix pokemons like Groudon and Charizard. 5 movement for 3 turns
Zekrom and other 1 hitbox pokemon i think are worse, as there is no way for them to kill more than 1 pokemon a turn with their moves

I so badly want a Pokemon game about George Washington in the Revolutionary war.
They could mod that assassin's creed game!!!
Since the character designs and their personality in this game were taken from Samurai Warriors, you could've used the koei tecmo wiki for the characters since it goes into very great detail on their design and personality (and even historical information).
For recruiting warlords you have to do 1 of 3 things with your own warlord.
1: Defeat them within 4 turns
2: Defeat them without any of your units getting damaged
3: Defeat them with a super effective attack
Think they all still have to be within 4 turns because I killed a warlord with a super effective attack, but they didn't get recruited or it could just be I wasn't paying attention and killed them without using a warlord with a super effective attack.
Another also, Male mc has better drip, change my mind.
surely you shouldn't consider cheating in a tier list wtf

20:13 Deino is great at first, but that “and then it evolves” was at 64% link for me so enemies had better stats than it (being fully evolved) including like 100+hp. It’s a chore to raise later on when you could’ve just scaled damage with Gabite (though not a perfect link)

Well I'm definitely not renowned for my wisdom
I think you missed the opportunity to make Arceus Gotoh.
Too much work, I spent all my time on the Cold Roy promotion!
Two moves per pokemon and no movement ranges lower than 3 are my wishes
I don't agree with glaceon, if you only consider the tutorial i may agree, but on the rest of the contents is honestly very good since you then start with him.
Glaceon and vaporeon are basically the only real choices as per gameplay, the other just to get that 100% completition.
